- After being stuck for a month and a half, we brought in the world famous @budnixon to help us out with his awesome Tucker Sno-Cat for a recovery job on a Chevy Silverado that trapped by a snowstorm while on a family Christmas tree hunting trip. The snow was about 5' deep with a 1' layer of crust ice on the top and the truck was frozen in place. My tracked Jeep would have been able to drive in and out of there, but I had serious doubts about it being able to pull the truck out. So Nik brought in his Snowcat to be the muscle for the job and after a lot of shoveling and winching, we were able to get the truck back to solid ground with no damage and reunited with it's very happy owner.
Here's a link to the greatest snowcat camping video ever made, that just so happened to be made during the same storm that buried the truck, and only about a mile away..

I like that attitude. "There is no bad weather, only bad equipment"
The weather is indifferent. It doesn't bear malice, it just is.
After 2 years Ive only now seen this video. Eric took me on my first rollover recovery as a tow truck driver and I was hooked.
I had a brother in law drive up a snowmobile groomed trail to go snowshoeing. Solid ice in morning, not so much in afternoon, buried it in up to doors. We got it out next day. That night it snowed 36”. He got lucky.
Algorithm.
That's the most common scenario I have to go get people out of. They drove out in the morning and cruised all around no problem because the crust was hard, then when they tried to go home in the afternoon they broke through
OK
My son loves going out in the snow a lot. If and when he sees people and their vehicles stuck he helps them out every time. About a month ago he has up at Snoqualmie enjoying the snow with his 2 dogs. Two different people got stuck so he helped them out. After they left he went to leave but his front end dropped in a hole, broke his drive shift and he was stuck. Just then two guys with with two different trucks came by and pulled him out. Woo-hoo! I believe that when you help others God sends others to help you too. Kindness begets Kindness.
Awesome recovery with no damage!😎 That SnoCat is bad to the bone and got the job done!👍 Just catching up with your older videos, love them all! Stay safe out there! ❤️🙏
It was an honor to be a part of this successful recovery. Huge shout out to Casey for the calls to odot and forest service to get the permission to get this done. Thanks again to Nikson for the equipment the sacrifice of time and the horsepower that was necessary for this to be a success! Til next time boys!!
Thank you again for the help, it was very much appreciated!
nice job kevin, missed your comment last night.
Casey LaDelle you are bad to bone little brother keep on doing what you are are doing love 💕💕 you for helping the people
@@dawnmancell2330 his father in law is the "owner" of the stuck truck. They staged this. It's fake.
YES BY FAR AN AWESOME GROUP OF PEOPLE!!
Nice when people volunteer their time and effort to help out.
Yes, that is always very heartwarming and pleasurable to watch :D
Its wild how clean that truck still looked after coming out of there!
This is one of the pluses of social media, it can be used for the right thing! May God bless you guys for saving this guys truck. Bud brought out the big gun and got it done.
Awesome video!
Thanks for the ODOT shout-out!
We're Happy to help.
Glad it all worked out for you guys. Great work!
You found a new subscriber!
The help was very much appreciated! That staging area you built was quite literally the key that unlocked the whole operation!
@@CaseyLaDelle anytime! Keep up the great content!
You've just got to love the classic old snow cats!
4:31 Snow-Cat to truck: Don't worry, Little Buddy --- help is on the way --- we'll get you out! :D
Got locked out of my car once when I first started driving as a teenager. To this day I don't leave the keys in the car unless I have a window opened enough to get my arm in
Same here. Locked out once with keys inside. Never again.
Now that is a Snow Cat! But that is what you needed to get that truck out of there!
Epic recovery! Incredible team effort.
PS - Bud Nixon has one fantastic looking fur hat.
I definitely need to step up my hat game
That Ushanka hat is seriously rad. "There is no bad weather, only bad gear."
@@georgevinson612 I'd say that when he really paid a top bill.. Beaver..
My Dad always said, "There is no such thing as cold people, just improperly dressed people."
That will be a Christmas tree hunt that that family will never forget.
That's for sure!
Wow, Wow, Wow. What an awesome group of cool humans. Peace.
The guy got lucky his truck wasn’t out there until the snow melted. Good teamwork.
bet the person who broke the shovel was happy 😄😅
Casey... you did notice.. buried hood deep, drug out backwards, spun around and drug out frontwards over a huge bank, and the front bumper is all in one piece! Unlike a certain someones Dodge that wont be mentioned🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yall are awesome ppl.. Humans helping Humans
I’m obsessed with Bud’s SnoCat. That is the coolest machine I’ve seen in a long time🐱!!!
Russians have some of the most insane off-road vehicles, whether its snow, mud or ice they have a vehicle for everything. I have seen some of their tracked vehicles in mud that would swallow a house and they manage it like its nothing. I love watching those Russian mud video's. Great video and that Tucker Sno Cat was awesome.
Great job ODot. Luckily you caught them in between storms. I bet that they were happy to bust the equipment out and have some fun.
Growing up poor we used what was around. Sliding down the hill on car hoods was good times. Use them.for off road recovery strap under each tire n it should slid out easy peasy. The older generation with a more rounded front ends would work best n they are typically smaller than many of the new flat hoods. Keep the vids coming.
People think the same when I say I’m from socal. “How do you like the country”. I’m like “I AM from the country and mountains. Ever heard of Idyllwild”? It’s colder there. My lullaby was the snowplow in the middle of the night.
Glad they got the Christmas Tree out in time for Easter.
Years ago my friend and i took a logging road with my cj5, drifted too far to the right and dropped into plowed over shoulder,a logger in a 2wheel drive Chevy pickup with chains came by and pulled me out, what a humble experience.
That's exactly how this guy got stuck. The ditch was plowed over and looked like level ground
I'm impressed that the pickup still has all its windows and stra body panels. Where im from the trashy people usually find and smash stuff like this
One of the best videos I've seen on UA-cam, great job guys
Awesome recovery and worth being one of your longer videos. But Casey.... you know some people are going go on that repetitive rant of: " Casey , you really should buy yourself a Snowcat" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
ENJOYED the show gentlemen...
You guys rule the snow recoveries
Sorry Matt lol
Good Job Guys!!! Awesome that you guys did that! That guy was super Happy!
Fantastic collaboration and recovery! Someone needs to get Bud a Yankum rope for his very cool Sno-Cat. Digging the trench, then breaking away the wall is a very wise way to dig out a vehicle without doing any unnecessary damage too. Well done guys!
Great Content and Recovery Have a Great Day 👍
God Bless America 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
At first glance it looked as though the truck had fallen through ice. When you took the sno-cat back to your truck I thought you went after a kinetic rope. If that truck had sat around for that long around here in the woods most of what you could see would have been missing and a tunnel dug to the catalytic converter. Some people around here have lost their converters while they were grocery shopping in broad daylight. When you call the cops they show up and write you a report to turn in to your insurance and leave. They don't even bother to investigate to try and find the thief. Back to your recovery, as always thanks for taking us along.
I can just imagine someone snowshoeing or x country skiing and coming across those tire tracks and thinking WTF! lol
That xmass tree ended up Costing a Lot $$$$$
I could notlive anywhere else. I love it here.
Quite generous \kind of all to volunteer
Great day!!
Many times while living in Fairbanks a storm would go through but a few days later I would be out in a t-shirt. It was great!
Awsome. Good thing that snow cat was there.
Absolutely awesome recovery. All of you did an excellent job. It's especially nice to see people come together to help a total stranger. We need more people like all of you in the world.
That guy has him a pretty nice fur hat. Love it!
I saw the video of the Tucker on it's camping event during this snow. The snow was chest deep. Tucker just cruised it Dandahermit
This video is full of very useful information. What an incredible effort to help out a fellow human being. It’s a clear example of how quickly extreme weather conditions can be become life threatening. Great job guys, I hope this video gets a million views. So informative and such an excellent example of the American Spirit and Team work.
Nice job bro. I was stuck that bad before. Lol. A huge storm in the 80s. . I was in front of a farm and he helped me out after the storm. You really saved that guys bacon I'll tell ya. God bless.
When I start a dig with a bunch of other people I usually break my shovel also. It's a clever trick to get out of shoveling.
Nicely done! It's interesting how you were discussing moving from Russia or California and the differences. I moved from Canada to the USA and ended up moving North. Yeah ....... from basically the north shore of Lake Erie to Mid-Michigan ........ it's north, not much but it's north.
Beautiful scenery and very informative video 👍🏼🤩👏👏
my 1986 F250 would be barred out there the 6.9 idi though a good engine is so heavy it really throws of the trucks balance and makes the front dig and the back wheels spin
also that snow cat is kick ass you guys who go out deep into the snowy mountains seem to have no fear must be a group thing
What abeautiful, scenic recovery.
That looked a lot of fun.
Casey, you are going to make everyone think that all of Oregon looks like this. (Sunny and covered in snow, not rainy and cloudy.) Nice to see Bud in a video.
15 seconds into this wow laughing how buried that is!
In the early 80s, I was a groomer at the ski areas in Tahoe. We used Tucker Sno-Cats. Spent a ton of hours in those old girls, love them to this day. The one job I had in my life that I would pay THEM to do again. Great vid.
This was definitely an interesting recovery. Kudos to all the people that donated their time and labour to get the pickup rescued
Super job by the entire team! Very pretty county! I believe Tucker still makes their Cats down here in my home town of Medford OR.
Yep, they are still in Medford
nice to see people using line dampers on the tight winch lines. Seems like a very easy way to stay much safer
It shows the guy with the winch knows what he's doing.
I live in Medford Oregon I love watching your channel
I'm in Little Rock Ar I love watching my home state from Tigarf Oregon
Hey Casey, My wife Jean and I love your Vids! I have learned that when working on someones else's vehicle, I ALWAYS roll down the driver's side window! Many new cars and trucks Auto-Lock the doors when you exit! Just an FYI. Keep up the great work that you do! Earl and Jean Harrell.
Snowcat is cool, good to see bad decisions do eventually get rescued
Dang I don't know how I missed this video last year.
That teamwork was nothing short of amazing. And the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.
"We gotta get that out." Start diggin'... if that snow is that hard, drive on top...
Beautiful day in the high country.
👍 Team work ! Nice job getting the Silverado out of it's ice coffin! It sure is beautiful there. The dead trees , are they dead from a fire? Seems like they all are broke off at about the same height too so maybe a wind storm? Thumbs up to everybody that was involved!
Big fire
Man, this is one the of the funniest adventures I have see yet....Thanks for recording this one. I thought Matt's Off Road had some goofy one, you beat Matt this time.
That was amazing. Well done Gentlemen
Many thanks for sharing the part about haz-mat recovery, freeze-thaw cycles, moisture penetration and mold; that was something I hadn't even thought about.
You guys are awesome 👌
Thanks Casey, ✌🏻 Nick? And everyone else.
That is a great snow
Cat.
To all the volunteers out there, THANK YOU!!!.
You make the world 🌎 a much better place .
👌✌🏻👋🏼👍♥️ ❄ 🇨🇦 😎.
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
I broke a shovel just like that and bound it with duct tape (temporarily) about 15 years ago… it’s still doing just fine.
“No worries about finding the truck, I marked it with a Christmas tree sticking up outa the bed…
Oh wait…”
Good work guys ❤️🇷🇴👍🏻
Definitely a cool vehicle to have in that situation...
Man that was kool! Snow, recovery, team work, and a Russian dude!
Your best video yet.
that's one lucky guy to have such good people around to help. Good job guys. yes i saw his camping trip footage. was awsome!!!
The Russian Sno-Cat guy’s fluffy hat is epic. I wonder why so many of the trees are broken and bare. They don’t look burned. Glad they got the buried truck and its Christmas tree out.
Casey, I think your next impulse buy should be a snow cat from one of the auctions.
So beautiful there, Wouldn’t mind living there😊
I half expected the SnoCat to drive right over the hood of the pick-up and Christmas 🎄 in the truck bed is just too funny.
The first boss I had when I started working at Arizona Public Service related the time he was snow-catting up Mt. Elden, north of Flagstaff. He was cruising up the road in an Imp when a guy came running out yelling, "You ran over my truck!" Sure enough, they looked back and saw the bare roof of the truck in the mound of snow they went over.
These are always my favorite kind of recoveries.
5:25 Camera-man: "This is a hundred percent Dylan's fault ---"
Dylan: "You're WELCOME!" :P
That was awesome! Thanks.
Greetings from Russia! I like your snow! ;)))
You are great guys, good luck to you!
I will watch your channel. You can tell everyone that you are being watched from Russia. Lol!
That recovery deserves a UA-cam Emmy award!
Years ago I remember finding a buried Honda Civic on the road between Paulina and East Lakes. We were flying down the road on snowmobiles and had to stop and figure out what was causing the giant lump in the middle of the road. It stayed until spring.
That was great, talk about boys and their big toys.
Old Scottish(supposedly) saying: No such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing choice!! 😂😂👵🇺🇸
Great teamwork, awesome job. Another graphic example of the superiority of tracks over tires, while also showing that even a big tracked vehicle can get ito trouble. Thanks to everyone involved!
Cool. I watch Buds channel
Like Silverado out of the tomb! Cool (no pun) video. And all that with volunteers!??!! There are some great folks in Oregon!
I love how quiet that snow cat is, I'm used to them being much louder than that, the thing is a beast though.
I love the snowcat. There is nothing like that here in Australia that I know of.
That was fun to watch!
You are correct! Bud Nixon puts out top notch content!!! Enjoy EVERY SINGLE vid!!!👍👍👍
Bud Nixon is famous ha ha. 🇨🇦
I'm going to keep on praying for you all because you need it for sure 😃😊😃 you are a an amazing man
Nice work, guys! Respect to the Tucker and his owner Nick! Rescue operation at daylight is more interested to view, but troubles happens more often at the darkness.
😉👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏
