@@TheYarbros Tiny apartment fridges take some getting used to, but they have advantages we normally wouldn’t think of. Less food waste, buying fresh locally more often, rather than major monthly or weekly trips to Costco or big chain supermarkets. We have lived in several Guadalajara neighborhoods for short (~1 month) stretches. If you liked Chapalita, and can afford these apartments, then I strongly recommend that you check out Providencia. Why live in the outskirts when you can be in a vibrant neighborhood!? I have never felt that security was a significant issue in Guadalajara, although it makes sense that in a larger apartment building your extended absence will not be as likely to be noticed by petty thieves.
You two are making me miss Guadalajara and Mexico in general! I may have to visit again very soon Even come visit you. : ) Question how's the C-19 there?
Do you usually need an Aval or Fiador? Which internet service would you recommend for working from home in Guadalajara? Would it be best to go to a coworking space if they open? That makes sense. Its 21.31 MXN ,for 1 USD today. We will start including the US equivalent in the videos.. Thanks for getting at us and for watching the vids!
For quick calculating in my head, I round down to 20 pesos to the dollar. Move the decimal point one place to the left after halving the figure. It’s been hovering above 20 for a few years now, although it was at or almost at 25 to one for a while. That was nice.
Ok wait... am I lookin at an electronic drum set next to the couch!? Did you not see that or did you just decide to omit that from the review? As a drummer, I'm flabbergasted. If that's not a e-drum kit, what the heck is it?
Cool neighborhood but it was busy over there. We like city life don't want to live in the thick of it all. Thanks for chiming in. We really appreciate it!
We locate the neighborhoods we are interested in and google "furnished apt. desired colonia" ..in Spanish and then start calling and emailing the realtors we get in touch with. When we view the home we walk the neighborhood (if we like it) and locate any "homes for rent" signs we can find....
Rondell & April, awesome content. I like the new presentation method you used on here, . The part were you each lean in/forward. The Afrkhan Moors ruled & civilized Spain & Southern Italy for 800 yrs. Anyway, can’t wait to see where you end up. I am Mexican and I am working on the virtualmoney.ws cash stream so we can also be “Nomadic Wonderes”.
Thanks for the history touch-up and for opening the realm of Spanish etymology. I (Rondel) dig into that kind of knowledge . Regarding the "lean-in" during the video. We are trying to connect w/ our audience and trying to keep it interesting. I'm really glad you liked it. Thanks for following our adventures and best of luck with you and your wife's adventerous lives!
Great video. Wish you would add if these places require cleaning fee, deposit, all that stuff and is it like here in the Philippines; Deposits most of the time 2-3 months and if you have money you move in. No paperwork and credit and all that stuff. Money means you moving. Thanks.
Doing a whole video about the process here and we've already started shooting it. Cash is king but with some strings.... and maybe a credit check depending on the landlord. There is some surety that is standard here that take three different forms. Too much to write. Dropping a video in a couple of days telling you all about the process...well as much as we know about it.
Applebee's? Really? 🤔 Just when I wuz thinking you had good taste! 🤣 The apartments look great, huge by comparison to the ones offered in Thailand, how many square feet/meters are they?
They are running anywhere from. 65m² to 120m² and yes much bigger we were in a 33m² apt in Chaing Mai but it was like $300/ month ...miss those days and Dukes!
@@TheYarbros I have friends there, and in BKK, Pattya, other places in Thailand, hopefully I'll get to visit them someday. You had the adventure hat with you in Thailand, right? 👍 I'm stuck in the ATL for a minute so I've been looking online at apartments, but I don't need the space, for me less is more.
When you’ve been out of the states for long enough, an American chain restaurant (even a BK or McDs) is a rare treat. Sometimes you just get a craving, sometimes it helps with homesickness.
@@MarcosElMalo2 ya, I get that, after a long stay in Jamaica I definitely chowed down on some McDonald's cheese burgers and fries. But, Applebee's? Really? 🤣
Yes, we do feel safe. There were a couple of areas that we didn't feel safe but it was obvious that we should not have been there (massive graffiti everywhere, half torn down buildings and a bunch of hardened looking dudes w/ homemade tats...). Remember not to walk down dark alleys at night (use common sense) and you will be fine.

If you really want walkability I wouldn't think of the outskirts but between Minerva and the Parque Rojo.
We looked around in Providencia and their priced chased us out of there 🤣🤣. We really like the neighborhood though.
Love you guys
You two are making me miss Guadalajara and Mexico in general! I may have to visit again very soon Even come visit you. : ) Question how's the C-19 there?
Its crazy here too. Everyone's wearing their mask 😷 and doing the best that they can to stay safe!

search for a apartment in Providencia you may get something for around 10k and the neighbourhood is great
I like that price BUT we're also looking for furnished, which ups the price a bit in some areas. We'll keep looking!
Do you usually need an Aval or Fiador? Which internet service would you recommend for working from home in Guadalajara? Would it be best to go to a coworking space if they open? Also, you might like this new interactive map of delitos as well as trend lines. You can look at smaller regions of a state for learning which pueblos to avoid delitosmexico.onc.org.mx/
@@Stoney-g1o hi I also live in Gdl I have Izzy TV internet ...I find it works pretty good ... I just rented a 1 bedroom home 🏡 for 6000 pesos in Las Fuentes unfurnished though
Awesome video
Thanks!
can you do a day in the life ? like work schedule and exploring the town
Great video both! Thanks for sharing. Quick question, what website or method did you use to locate your apartments for rent? I am looking to move to Mexico over the next few months and am struggling in trying to figure out the best website or method for finding good quality rentals. Thank you 🙏🏽
In this video we describe one of our methods and give some of the websites we us. The info is in the description. ua-cam.com/video/qB1ZZU6LkAg/v-deo.html
I like your videos guys, I’m from Gdl, if you guys want I can give you a tour in the neighborhoods where most apartments are so you can narrow down the search even more. What better than exploring with a local. It’d be my pleasure. Let me know.
Sounds great but we just signed our lease! Really excited to have found the right one for us. We'll be posting about it soon!
@@TheYarbros That’s exciting and great news! Congrats!!
Thank you 🙏🏾
Damn..the coolest couple in guadalajara.you very welcome
Thanks!
The first one was my favorite!
If we had a car it'd be PERFECT!
Beautiful couple you guys are 💯
Love the videos! Not sure if you do but can you do a video on how to obtain residency!
Thanks for the love! We don't have personal experience with residency but if we go that route we'll definitely share what we learn.
@Kja Daboss Backpacking Brunette has a concise video about obtaining a temporary residency which is valid for several years and would allow you to bring an automobile. ua-cam.com/video/CWO5BXe_D-k/v-deo.html
Great information!
Glad you think so!
I ❤ your show.
I love that... "The Nomadic Wander Show"! Really glad you're enjoying it!
The 2br didn't have outdoor space. Too bad. But the second neighborhood has a POPEYE'S?!!!!!
Right that is weighing like 30% of my vote lols
@@TheYarbros there is a Popeyes in Galeria Tlaquepaque
What can’t believe they have Popeyes now. KFC used to rule. I love Popeyes
@@JJ-iy7rk unfortunately the red beans and rice is not the same as it is in the USA
Hey, thanks for sharing! 💜
No problem 😊 Thanks for watching!
Oh I like to see you guys, you guys look so nice toguether, will love be some day soon in Mx.
We are planing to build in Merida, will be nice keep contact and you guys visist us.
Thank you and good luck with your build in Merida!
Hope you find a place with outside space. The weather there is so nice it would be ashame not to be able to sit outside.
I agree I would hate not having a place to grill but...the high rise 2:2 has me thinking about it....
@@TheYarbros keep looking, you will find the right one!
6:43 THIS!
Yeah, that's the longshot we are hoping for. #Jesusplease 🙏🏾🙂
"Act like you been here" 😆😆
Great videos. Would prefer prices in USD else have to find date and xrate for that day. Do others really prefer to do those lookups?
That makes sense. Its 21.31 MXN ,for 1 USD today. We will start including the US equivalent in the videos.. Thanks for getting at us and for watching the vids!
For quick calculating in my head, I round down to 20 pesos to the dollar. Move the decimal point one place to the left after halving the figure. It’s been hovering above 20 for a few years now, although it was at or almost at 25 to one for a while. That was nice.
Man that climb up the mountain will kill you. But that first apt is so beautiful
Where is the second apartment located? I like a lot.
Really glad you liked it. Its one of our favorites so far. It is in the colonia of Ciudad del Sol.
I am headed to Merida.can you suggest sections for good airbnb s.Is booking outside the center 18 min out safer?
This reminds of the novelas. When the rich ppl have luxurious apts.
If only we were rich....ahh lol. Thanks for commenting.
Ok wait... am I lookin at an electronic drum set next to the couch!? Did you not see that or did you just decide to omit that from the review? As a drummer, I'm flabbergasted. If that's not a e-drum kit, what the heck is it?
Yes, it was a drum kit.
@@TheYarbros Wow! That's my spot! Great views too. Thanks for droppin the facts yall. We need those USD conversions though. Stay blessed
Hey guys I live next to the last apartment !
That was a surprisingly nice area. We really liked it!
try col americana
Cool neighborhood but it was busy over there. We like city life don't want to live in the thick of it all. Thanks for chiming in. We really appreciate it!
Where do you find this type of aparments ?they're so cool
We locate the neighborhoods we are interested in and google "furnished apt. desired colonia" ..in Spanish and then start calling and emailing the realtors we get in touch with. When we view the home we walk the neighborhood (if we like it) and locate any "homes for rent" signs we can find....
@@TheYarbros thank you so much ,this helped me do much :)
👍
Rondell & April, awesome content. I like the new presentation method you used on here, . The part were you each lean in/forward. My wife Alicia and I consumed all your Merida content and are following you to Guadal -A- HaRRA ...🤠. Guadalajara. From the arabic وادي الحجارة (wādī al-ḥajārah), “valley of stones”, 60% spanish is Arabic from the Moors(Moros ) or as the word now used in Mx “morros” = young or new kids/new jacks.
Great.. if you don’t mind, what you intend to do to survive? You will get a job? Are you retired? You know what I mean?
We work a few different jobs 100% online.
@@TheYarbros Cool. Looking forward to it.
Applebee's?
Yes, my bae been with me all through our adventures in SE Asia 🤟🏾🤣
When you’ve been out of the states for long enough, an American chain restaurant (even a BK or McDs) is a rare treat. Sometimes you just get a craving, sometimes it helps with homesickness.
@@MarcosElMalo2 ya, I get that, after a long stay in Jamaica I definitely chowed down on some McDonald's cheese burgers and fries. But, Applebee's? Really? 🤣
I’m visiting there in a week from the US! I’m a little nervous - do you feel relatively safe walking around ?
Yes, we do feel safe. There were a couple of areas that we didn't feel safe but it was obvious that we should not have been there (massive graffiti everywhere, half torn down buildings and a bunch of hardened looking dudes w/ homemade tats...). Remember not to walk down dark alleys at night (use common sense) and you will be fine.
@@TheYarbros thanks so much for the reply! Will definitely practice my common sense haha!
