One of the places you showed, I think in this vid, but may have been another Guadalajara one, overlooked what looked like a major construction site. From personal experience, my noise radar went off. I moved out of a place I really liked because of the dust, back up truck beeping, drilling, pounding, etc. It ground at me day after day, all day, as I worked from home. Just something to be aware of when evaluating places.

I would love to live in my beautiful Jalisco again one day. Not on a permanent basis but definitely on a long term plan. Cities to check out: Guadalajara, Ciudad Guzman and Ajijic.
Thank you!! It is a continuous work in progress lols -and we are anxiously awaiting the result of the investigation process for our home we'll share as soon as we know something.
Awesome. I live in a building like these now, and really don't want to change my style of living - just the PRICE!! GDL is starting to look REAL good! You guys are amazing; thanks so much for taking the time to share this information.
Such a beautiful couple, the epitome of team , I love how you guys compliment each other it's a beautiful thing. Wifey has the most Pleasant uncontrollable slight smile that just constantly reveals itself even when she's not trying to smile. That seems to be the energy and demeanor of a woman in a satisfied stress-free disposition. Blessings
I saw in your other videos that you guys like mountains, you should try visiting Huentitan, at the North End of the city, at the end of Calzada Independencia you'll find a park with a great view of the mountains, but if you want to actually walk down the mountain you should tell your uber driver to take you to the Capilla, at the end of Belisario Domínguez Avenue, there are some food stands there and then a safe path to walk all the way down to the river and an historic brigade that crosses that river, it's always crowded with people doing their morning walk, specially on Sunday mornings, so it's pretty safe.
I would highly recommend you to stay in the third place (the one in Alcalde Barranquitas), it is within 10 minutes walking to 3 metro stations and there are several bike stations near, there are 3 nice parks in the surroundings, including the one just in front of it. Additionally is just a few meters away the main walking street in the city, where you can walk and in 20 minutes be in the Cethedral, just in the main point of the city center. Also you will have many stores in a walking distance. Additionally it is less than 15 min in car from places with several important neighborhoods with bars and restaurants like Chapultepec, Providencia and Chapalita.
Thanks for sharing all the perks of that area! It sounds great being that there's close access to public transportation and within walking distance to the heart of the city.
You Guys are great 👍🏼 😊 i m from Jalisco not from city of Guadalajara but have most my relatives live in Zapopan. Zapopan is one of the exclusive and nice small city in Guadalajara... I wish the best ...😊👍🏼

Hi April and Rondell. Thanks for all the information! We are considering going South of the border ourselves.... Loved the last apt. you showed, is that in the city of Guadalajara proper? We don't plan on buying a car after we relocate, so we would like a place that is closer to town where we can walk without having to Uber everywhere.
Thanks guys, great video. We have been looking at Merida so we keep in mind Air Conditioning,,,,,you had no mention of that, any input? Thanks again for all you do for us!!!
It is a very temperate climate here so an a/c is not generally a deal breaker for us. What we desire is windows w/ screens. The first apt no a/c but screens in all windows. Second had a/c and screens in the window. Third a/c in every room w/ screens. Fourth didn't have any a/c or screens in the windows. Great informative. Love the transitions between each apartment. The music was a bit too loud in a couple spots making it kinda hard to hear what you were saying.
You should go visit the AfroMexicanos who live in parts of Oaxaca and Guerrero. They are very proud of their heritage. Africans were taken there by Spaniards... I would Love to see your Interaction. I would Love to go visit myself 😇😁🥁
I know everyone's financial situation is different, and I saw in a previous video that you guys sold everything. What would be the amount of money someone would need to have saved in order to make the move to Mexico? 3 months of living expenses? 6 months of living expenses? or maybe a dollar amount? Would you advise someone to have X amount of dollars before moving?
We feel like 6 months of living expenses would be a comfortable place to start. You never know what unexpected expenses might come up so give yourself a cushion.
Hello again! Pets are a big part of families here. We have looked at over 20 homes and about 6 or seven of them permit pets. I am sure there would be more if we were not looking for a furnished apt. Thanks for keeping up with our travels! 😊
To rent in Mexico is hard since the law is on the side of the tenant, disfavoring the landlords. If a tenant stop paying the rent, is extremely hard for the landlord to kick him out, he would need to start a legal process that could take even years to get an eviction order, additionally if the house gets involve with something related wit organized crime, the government could take possession of the house during the investigation. That is way they required you so many references and requirements, to make them sure you are not a bad tenant or a criminal.
Very helpful rental search info, especially about the translator n specific “furnished” search details. Guess I kinda don’t understand about the fiador, can we use an American who speaks fluent Spanish (who lives in the U.S.), or does it have to be a Mexican resident living in Guadalajara? Regardless, very good content overall. Thanks.
It has to be a Mexican property owner....preferably who lives in Gdl. They submit financial info and property info as well. But... there is always a way. I was the Fiador and my wife was the leaser on our paperwork... money and the ability to pay our rent in advance helped our situation.
I live in Japan currently! I’ve been here since I was 22, I’m 24 now and I realllly miss North America but I don’t want to move back to the USA. So, Mexico seems like a great option! I’m a bit worried about the safety, what do you think? Is it as dangerous as people say??? I subscribed by the way!
First, THANK YOU FOR THE SUB 🤟🏾. To answer your 2nd question it all depends on where you go in Mexico. For instance, Mérida is an uber safe location...but its hot beyond belief. Here in Gdl it is big city life dangerous if you leave your since at home.... but safe if you stay away from bad situations and in secure areas. Do your research and I am sure you will make a good decision.
Thanks for all the information and for sharing your options. One question - did you have a printed bank statement? All of the apartments look very clean and modern. I think my choice would be dictated by location - walkability - and having a patio or some kind of outdoor area. Anyway, best of luck to you and I look forward to seeking where you settle.
Good info. I'm a permanent resident & have lived in Mx for 9 years. The fiador requirement is new to me but I'm considering moving to Gdl...is a fiador required for permanent residents or just for non visa carrying foreigners? Thanks!
Please research the areas on the southern end of GDL as far as higher crime areas very near. A good friend just moved out of the area near the 1st apt in this video (near ITESO) she became very afraid of things that she had personally seen. TraficoZMG.com is a good source of daily info. In México, there are many things that go down that the general public is never aware of. I’m not trying to throw cold water on your search, but please be aware. The other tip that I would offer is to set your budget by a more conservative exchange rate, since the early part of 2020 it has mostly been over 20 mxn to 1 usd, but in my 3 years here the average has been about 18:1
Thanks for the heads up. We know what you're talking about regarding crime in that area which is why that apt had to come off of our list. Regarding the exchange rate we use the one we get through using our bank so that its dead on. Thanks again for the comments! We really appreciate them. The building was very secure but the neighborhood was sketchy!
@2 Wimpy that web site did not seem useful. I did find a great article from 2016 as well as other youtube videos using the keywords "guadalajara seguridad". This article below in "Milenio" written in 2016 is worth reading, but it does not specifically point to the southern areas as far as I know. What do you think about the article? www.milenio.com/opinion/hector-raul-solis-gadea/atrevimientos/la-seguridad-en-guadalajara-no-mejora
@@Stoney-g1o ..... 2016 was a very long time ago. It is common knowledge to those that live here that the areas to the south, except gated communities, have greater safety risks. The areas of Tlaquepaque & Tonalá beyond the tourist zones are a no go, especially at night. Tlajomulco de Zúñiga is also known as an area that can be considered higher risk.
Hello guys! Thank you for the information regarding apartments in Guadalajara, it is very interesting and I hope that you find the perfect place. Also, do you know how long you are going to stay? Maybe an Airbnb might be better for you? I don't know. js
No. If you have a guarantor then I believe you pay the usual deposits. Even if you don't, you may come to an agreement with the owner to pay a few months in advance in lieu of having a guarantor (this could be 2-6months in advance).
Wanna move to Jalisco from Nuevo Leon, but my mother is worried because an aunt that lives there says the CJNG is kinda going nuts over them now. How's it been going over there?
isn't $900 a month a lot in mexico? my mortgage is $900 a month in california. man, i so want to move to mexico. i love tequila, lol. just have to talk the wife into it. can an american buy a business down there like a cantina or something? i'd love to own a cantina or a resturaunt down there and buy a house. thanks for the vids. you guys look like a great couple. be safe.
I do think $900 is a lot but it also depends on the city and your quality of life. The apartment we rented in Merida was half that. I believe you can find a home for any budget here. We haven't explored property investments but I'm sure the info is out there.

Be careful that first one was in a secure building but the neighborhood wasn't walkable...sketchy actually.
Gotcha. I’m doing my research. Y’all video is helping. It will be better once I get to visit and see the different neighborhoods
Nice VIDEO GUYS!!!new subscriber here...mexico❤❤
Thank you for the sub! -Glad you liked the video!
Great informative. Love the transitions between each apartment. The music was a bit too loud in a couple spots making it kinda hard to hear what you were saying.
Thank you and I will work on my editing skills.
Thanks dear friends. Very helpful
You should go visit the AfroMexicanos who live in parts of Oaxaca and Guerrero. They are very proud of their heritage. Africans were taken there by Spaniards...
I would Love to see your Interaction. I would Love to go visit myself 😇😁🥁
God willing we'll be making our way to Oaxaca before we leave MX!
Love!
Thanks!☺
Great video, cool music
Glad you liked it! Hope you are doing well brothah!
So, where are you?...which colonial?
I need to follow you for my next apt.
💃
We haven't signed a lease yet but we're hoping to have an answer to that question soon!
What about pets? Did any of the apartments have that on the list
Hello again! Pets are a big part of families here. We have looked at over 20 homes and about 6 or seven of them permit pets. I am sure there would be more if we were not looking for a furnished apt. Thanks for keeping up with our travels! 😊
great video, thanks for the info! very helpful
🤟🏾
To rent in Mexico is hard since the law is on the side of the tenant, disfavoring the landlords. If a tenant stop paying the rent, is extremely hard for the landlord to kick him out, he would need to start a legal process that could take even years to get an eviction order, additionally if the house gets involve with something related wit organized crime, the government could take possession of the house during the investigation. That is way they required you so many references and requirements, to make them sure you are not a bad tenant or a criminal.
Ik one of our realtors gave us an esucation about the rental process and the laws really benefit the renters here. Crazy!
For a later video...all things related to banking in Mexico and securing a driver's license.
New Subsc. Bamm. Love your videos. Keep creating more and more.!
Thanks for the SUB(!) and we will!
@@TheYarbros Thanks for the response! And you’re welcome for the sub. I’ll look into it!
Great Info! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
So you are saying that they check your credit back in the US??
ohh, yeah
Thanks for all the information and for sharing your options. One question - did you have a printed bank statement?
All of the apartments look very clean and modern. I think my choice would be dictated by location - walkability - and having a patio or some kind of outdoor area. Anyway, best of luck to you and I look forward to seeking where you settle.
We used redacted digital statements.
@@TheYarbros what do you mean by redacted bank statements? Do you cover up certain details on the statement?
@@Stoney-g1o yes sir! No account numbers are shown. They don't need to see that.
Good info. I'm a permanent resident & have lived in Mx for 9 years. The fiador requirement is new to me but I'm considering moving to Gdl...is a fiador required for permanent residents or just for non visa carrying foreigners? Thanks!
They ask for a fiador from both permanent & temp residents....but there are lots of ways around it.
Hope you get the place you want!!
Girl us too! 😅😬
New subscriber. Good luck on the place you want
Thanks for the sub and we did! Welcome to the fam!
Thanks for sharing 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😁
Hello guys! Thank you for the information regarding apartments in Guadalajara, it is very interesting and I hope that you find the perfect place. Also, do you know how long you are going to stay? Maybe an Airbnb might be better for you? I don't know. js
We'll be here a year so a lease is more economical for us. Thanks for the suggestions though. We appreciate it!
Do you have to pay for the rent upfront for the entire lease term?
No. If you have a guarantor then I believe you pay the usual deposits. Even if you don't, you may come to an agreement with the owner to pay a few months in advance in lieu of having a guarantor (this could be 2-6months in advance).
You are mistaken on the soft pull hitting your credit score, a soft pull does NOT affect your credit score. A hard pull does.
Thanks for the correction and thank you!
Thats a lot of work for an apartment. How long are you staying in gdl? Wouldnt air b n b make more sense for say a 3 month time frame? Take care.
We'll be here for a yr...so its worth it on the front end.
@@TheYarbros i will invite you to lunch
What length lease were u guys applying for in those apts?
1 yr leases...which seem to be the standard here.
As usual full of great information...keep them coming :-) #1LUV
Thank you! Will do!
Great video, I felt a little annoyed trying to listen to your comments because the music was loud.
I understand thank for battling through to the end! We appreciate your viewership and will continue to improve our editing.
Awesome info
Seem like the few people ive watched on youtube in mexico is always looking for a place, how long is there leases usually?
Mexico has many states in the couple that we have stayed in most landlords are looking for a yr commitment but 6 month leases are common as well.
Music and talking hard to process info. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge.
Appreciate the feedback. I'll do better w/ the mix next round!
Bendicion amigos
Gracias hombre!
Medas gusto ke se sientan bien enmi pais
I ke Dios Los bendiga siempre
Question how do you guys make a living out there?
We make all of our money online a mix of E-businesses and teaching English to children in China.
Wanna move to Jalisco from Nuevo Leon, but my mother is worried because an aunt that lives there says the CJNG is kinda going nuts over them now. How's it been going over there?
I was in GDL and the surrounding areas (mostly touristy areas) last week and didn't hear a peep.
Super, super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Do they check your USA credit score or your credit score in Mexico?
To my surprise they did not. They only checked to see if we had a line of credit...not the score.
How long do you plan to stay in Guadalajara? Have you ever been to Puerto Vallarta?
We,ll be here a year and we can't wait to visit Puerto Vallarta! 🤟🏾👌🏾🤪
@@TheYarbros Cool refried beans😎
isn't $900 a month a lot in mexico? my mortgage is $900 a month in california. man, i so want to move to mexico. i love tequila, lol. just have to talk the wife into it. can an american buy a business down there like a cantina or something? i'd love to own a cantina or a resturaunt down there and buy a house. thanks for the vids. you guys look like a great couple. be safe.
I do think $900 is a lot but it also depends on the city and your quality of life. The apartment we rented in Merida was half that. I believe you can find a home for any budget here. We haven't explored property investments but I'm sure the info is out there.
Quick question - Why do you call yourselves Nomadic Wonder when your name on youtube is The Yarbros? Are you going to change your youtube name?
Our name will remain the same. God-willing people will tie them together in their minds, if things work properly. It is a type of personalization and branding the a.k.a..... personalization w/ the brand.
@@TheYarbros Thanks for the reply! I was just curious
Hi guys this is Charly from Boston. I havent missed episode.. thank you for all the research and sharing it with us. My birth certificate came and I will have my passport by Christmas. I live in Northeast Boston Massachusetts but I will be helping someone in Florida for two weeks mid January. I hope to be in Guadalajara by the end of January. This is bold for me I haven’t been too far from my city. But I retired early and I am single well almost.🤷♂️. I don’t know much about Mexico and I was considering Merida until I noticed everybody was sweating and talking about the oppressive heat LOL. Thanks again I will keep my eyes open congrats on your new apartment I To look forward to seeing it. God Bless
Hey congratulations on the decision to make the big move. Another area you may want to look into is Lake Chapala. We will be going to visit it later this year but I heard that it is a gorgeous, super safe, retirement hub here in Jalisco. Thank you for checking out our videos, be safe and congratulations again!
Why don't you try this cities first?

Do you eat tortas ahogadas?
Haven't yet but of course we are! 😋 - Where should we get them?
Go to mercado corona close to catedral,
HI, I'M FROM GUADALAJARA, IF YOU LIKE TO VISIT PLACES I'M GLAD TO SHOW YOU .
Appreciate that!
Did you guys have a car?
No car. It was easy to use Uber everywhere but there’s also a metro (we didn’t live near any of the stations).
@@TheYarbros I see, I am seeing that Zapopan has better deals but I won’t have a car and it’s farther out. I’m worried about my monthly Uber bill costing the same as a car note
It sounds like renting an airbnb seems easier.
Maybe but way more expensive...
CAN YOU GUYS TRANSLATE THAT IN AMERICAN DOLLORS.
The very 1st apt was $16,000 pesos = about $770 usd. I believe the others are listed on screen at the beginning of their showing.
