Simone: "This is going to be boring, guys."
Simone, a minute later: "It's kind of like a stripper pole for plants."
She then said “Ok let’s go to the bathroom”
"Still won't date you."
Would love if the cabinet allowed you to move and change the design of the little white pieces
I'd rather skip dinner than skip Simone. And I really like eating dinner.
I am thinking about dropping out of school to focus on my career as a star on UA-cam. I already make a lot of money on UA-cam. School bores me so much. I need more opinions and since I don't have any friends, I gotta ask you, make
@Anna This is crazy
@Anna poggers
it's like those DIY channels on TV but without the "perfect" host and fake story!
@@AxxLAfriku nah my guy
Simone - to be clear, I think I speak for most of us when I say that we WANT you to post videos making all these things. We watch both for the cool projects, but also because your energy is infectious. At this point we'll pretty happily watch most things you make 😂
I've actually watched this video twice now because I LOVE these "casual" builds. Makes me feel like I could build something small for my appartment too :)
oh be honest.. you just watched it twice to get double your time refunded. :P
@@markstanden202 shhhhh don't call me out. First it was actually really scary, after the video everything moved backwards for a few seconds... and there I was, back when i started the video... but with memories of having watched it...
Then I wantched it again ^-^
Can we talk about how aesthetically pleasing her whole home is.
Right!?
right it's like she lives in her UA-cam channel.
S W E D I S H
(As the kool kids wrote "aesthetic "just 5-10 years ago. And, welp, her home looks really Swedish (especially interior decoration/art interested Swedish youth,) with a splash of Los Angeles.
It's a whole vibe. There is nothing outside the vibe. It's the whole thing.
"I would rather take ugly than boring. still wouldn't want to date you though"
you cut deep Simone
Savage…
This hurted
That part hit me hard, ouch!
Im dead
So savage!!😦
In incredible honesty I love this video!! I love seeing the 'small' projects around the house that make you happy and make your life more convenient! The bed step-up is functional and looks good, the plant and bottle holders look sleek and just do exactly what they're made for and the period machine slaps! it's like hydraulic press channel but uterus powered, amazing.
You said it Jade!
Seeing the things you're passionate about is EXTREMELY interesting and cool. Never boring. Please don't stop posting about your little house projects and what not. We love them
LOVE that plant stand. Would be perfect for my sea of fake plants.
Agreed. The Plant Stripper Pole is awesome.
I was actually thinking it was more along the lines of a cat tree than a stripper pole.
Agreed! Would love to see a tutorial on it at some point :)
My last horticultural relationship was a one plant stand.
I love plants and am always looking for unique ways to keep them in my house and up and away from my dogs, who love to destroy them.

I'm a cat person, but there's something about Scraps. So entertaining, and just a bundle of energy!
Simone... THANK YOU! I am a male middle school teacher so I have had SOOOOO many young women experience their first period while they were my student or literally while in my class. I’m obviously compassionate and my wife bought me supplies to keep on hand that a young lady might need (I am a teacher in The Bronx, NY so it’s quite possible they might not always have access to what they need all the time), I can speak theoretically about what is happening to them if they have questions but they don’t want to hear from a 39 year old dude so I now have saved your videos with Kotex and will share if my students ever have further questions!!! THANK YOU!
Simone drastically underestimates how entertaining she is when talking about..... literally anything.
Sooo True. She really sells herself short :/ Simone you are amazing 😍
And how much we love looking at solutions, big or small. The only time I want back is the seconds I spent watching this massively talented, intelligent, creative, entertaining person doubt herself.
Still wouldn't want to date you though.
@@ZesPak we'll just have to live with it.
@@ZesPak na man she's the bomb... Imagine being the one that helps her her her confidence back.... she can rule..
Simone: You got this.
Also, my wife saw the plant stripper pole and said she wanted one, so now I need construction plans. TIA.
I think everyone could use a plant stripper pole. That and the fitted soap holders.
I'm divorced, but I still need to make this. 😅
I need the plant stripper pole.
I should post the project files somewhere! But was pretty straightforward to design, two layers of plywood to make the shelves, and then a plywood grommet under each shelf that I glued to the pole
@@simonegiertz That one looks like something you'd find in a catalog of home furnishings
The projector shelf looks like it was part of the original house. Great job! The step for your bed also seems like it would be a bit more fun to get in bed than steps would be. I love the light switches! That plant holder is amazing. Also useful for keeping them at different light levels. The toilet paper shelves are so cute! And they go really well with the wall pattern too. The hexagon flowers are so cute! They really bring the nature theme from your bedroom into the bathroom, without being overwhelming in a space that already has a lot of sensory input going on.
Am I really the only one who noticed the tiny tools hanging around Simone's neck? What a perfect necklace for such an amazing creator/builder/engineer!!
Simone: "Looks like it belongs to someone who crochets little tea cups"
Me, crocheting a cozy for my tea cups: Wnder who that is...
"Added this ornament ... You know, kinda if like a joke doesn't land ..." Love her humor XD
I loved the "serious" just black edition, to be honest. With this brass leaf-handles it really looks cool. But i like the serious hybrid organic-cyber aesthetic of "Altered Carbon" too.
@@haifutter4166 Hell yea! Like some futuristic art deco.
"There's like a dried chicken head that she's hidden somewhere and I cannot find it and I'm just really happy to know that it's at least not in my bed...it's very cool and very practical and also keeps dead animals out of bed" OMG IM DYING LOL
Yeah, that reminded me of an episode where I and my SO had bought an ox tail piece for our cat...
He had removed one of the tail bones from the platter and hid it for "tenderizing" without us noticing it missing...
A few days later when I was at work, my SO heard the cat happily slobbering under their dresser...
Only to find the cat going at the greenish brown almost rancid meat of the missing tail bone...
The cat did NOT get to finish his "delicacy"...
I love all these projects!!! Thank you for sharing, there can be a lot of pressure to post a long complex and time consuming project, but it’s just as wonderful to see smaller useful projects! It shows people that there are lower barriers of entry into making things around the house 😊
LOVE LOVE LOVE that plant stand, I want one!
Also, your bathroom is adorable! I love the tp holders and the cabinet and I think it all looks really good together. You're being way too hard on yourself!
Simone: "There didn't seem to be enough for each of these projects to make a whole video about each of them..". DIY channels. Here is a 45 min long video on screwing two 2x4s together that I know you'll want to watch!

I really actually love these "quick and simple" builds. They seem way more practical and just satisfying as a way to make your house a home.
yeah I like the "hey I should do that" vibe even though I definitely won't
Would love a livestream of these mini projects! :D
I love this video so so much. So often, women in science/engineering feel that their femininity is burdensome/annoying, but I love all of the home decor stuff, and you opening up to showing us this kind of stuff! I love it, go you!
Thank you so much for your channel. Also your TED talk about how you gave up trying to make perfect things was an eye-opener for me.
"Still wouldn't wanna date you, though."

I snorted while laughing causing my display to be covered in sugar water. Unfortunate and yet hilarious, just like your time of the month ladies. 😂

"It's okay to skip this one" thumbnail makes it nearly impossible to skip this one!
Love your work, and your attitude, Simone! Always glad to see you here.
I know it's a ton of work to film and edit videos in addition to woodworking so don't feel bad for skipping some projects. As a woodworker I know how special each project can be. These are all very inspiring and well done! Thanks for sharing, love all your videos.
"These house builds might not be the most mind-blowing..."
Your builds don't need to be mind-blowing to be awesome. Your very genuine nature and love of making things always makes your videos great. Thanks, Simone!
What's weird is at the very instance I was reading this comment Simone was saying the quote... Very inception like...
@@Scotty_in_Ohio oh my god. This very same thing happened to me just now AND there was your comment mentioning the exact same thing. Double Inception.
"Which maybe sounds a little bit sad"
NO. I really considered some of your indoor design choices (The "serious just black and brass" edition of the bathroom floor cupboard) and it is really the small beautiful things, that we see every day, that make us happy.
Annndd: I highly appreciate your artistic way of creating awareness for the menstrual cycle. This is beautiful, interesting and functional and by far superior to some people making (in my opinion) gross paintings with their blood (which kinda defies the purpose, at least for me).
Simone: "this video is about my uninteresting projects"
143k people: "i n t e r e s t i n g"
Shhh this is lovely! I really enjoy seeing the little details around people's homes that they've done to make things nicer for themselves
I feel that watching these little projects are inspiring. You have done some amazing things.
Simone's thumbnail: "It's ok to skip this one"
Me: "This looks interesting"
And it was. Idk if that was reverse psychology or you really weren't sure about this, but it was a great video. Love the little projects!
That thumbnail was like a dare for me to watch
lol my thoughts exactly
"you can skip this one"
*queue old captain America meme*
"no, I don't think I will."
@Anna clicked on your link and regret nothing
thought it said captain america ad, bc I got one haha
Simone, please don't call these useless. Everything is useless until it finds its purpose. The period machines are educational tools :) Keep creating!
I love using scrapes....and off the shelf solutions. Very nice videos of ideas.
Keep up the great work of sharing your adventures with us.

I'm not a super avid viewer, catching the occasional video, but I saw this one and had almost this exact thought.
I didn’t wanted my time refunded, now I gotta watch it all over again
Three times here (I was busy the first two looking for the chicken head) Ha!
Life threw you a curve about the same time I got mine. You are pushing forward and I salute you, fellow warrior. Ordered one of your Brain shirts yesterday. My wife loves your stuff, thanks.
I really appreciate and enjoy your project work. Especially the small ones as they are a reflection of your philosophies and things that you enjoy! Thank you for sharing them 😊
I love Simone casually slipping in "still wouldn't want to date you though" nice! Classic Simone.
I mean it's obvious but she didn't need to say it out loud, damn :/
"like a stripper pole for plants!"
"now to the bathroom"
I was hoping she leaned into that a little more and pointed out the connection, lol.
I can tell you are proud of the work you do, and you are enjoying yourself. Keep showing us how much fun you are having. Thank you for the video👍
It’s great to see inspo and such! I love your process! Thanks for posting this!!

Really like the short and sweet blasts of a bunch of stuff!!
I love this video!!! It shows that I can also make super fun interesting solutions for my own home, even without a 3D printer or bad-A shop full of amazing tools. Thanks for the inspiration and just for being awesome YOU!!
So many fun things! DIY stuff is the best. I want to make a giant gameboy coffee table for my living room

Simone, I thought these so-called "uninteresting" projects were really charming, and interesting to see, so thank you for taking the time to share them! Also, you stated what I think is the most important part: that YOU had fun doing them.
I love this video!!! Smaller-scale projects around your house are SUPER interesting to me, and my favorite is your "stripper pole for plants." The way you're able to make improvements to make your space more functional and also visually interesting is inspiring and fun to watch!
These are great! I am doing little projects around the home, and seeing yours is really good
I just wanted to say thank you. You're one of the reasons why I'm going to SDSMT for mechanical engineering in the fall. You inspired me to build all of the crazy ideas in my head and push my limits with creativity.

Simone, please for the love of everything, lean into the fact that people find you interesting and the thing you make (big or small) are worth sharing. We love you!
Those house projects are mind blowing....Wait...I think i heard that somewhere before. Thanks Simone, i especially love the shelf.
I love the plant shelf, that was a good idea! And rhe bathroom doors look really cool, i work as a machine operator at a cabinet shop and seeing this made my day! Thank you for the inspiration!
"it's ok to skip this one"
DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO YOU BEAUTIFUL GENIUS!
All of these are quite interesting
How do you even know the video literally just came out? Lol
She should do shorter videos with projects like these. They are inspirational for us who'd like to maybe one day start a project
Super cute projects. I love all of your build vids. Keep on being awesome!
Really love that Plant stripper pole. I want a few of those to put around the house near my windows. Sometimes when projects aren't the most flashiest but they serve a good purpose, they can really stick out. Like your shelf. Not flashy but useful and ties the room together beautifully. Keep up the amazing work Simone
I think sometimes just watching relatable projects help put things into perspective. You're a person, just like any of us, and the simple home projects you do can provide endless inspiration. Often when watching Adam's "One day builds" I tend to enjoy his shop upgrades or shelf builds more so than his fancy outfits or super accurate props. They're all cool, but something relatable just grounds us and reminds us, famous people have normal people challenges.
Its her over all I think. She is hugely likable, smart.
I love the matching pattern cabinet doors. I feel like the "grout" lines should be white or a lighter color. That would make them a truer negative of the floor tiles.
This. And making sure that the "flowers" match their position in the floor tiles.
Love handmade home projects! Love that plant stand! And the light switches are ingenious!
Here from Physics Girl.
This is the first video I've seen from you, and I'm definitely subscribing. Keep up the good work! And good luck!
Simone: "How much could you realistically love a toilet paper shelf? It kind of just is." ....."I do love this soap holders though!"
Toilet paper shelf: *Pikachu Face*
I think we all could be forgetting how it is often little projects like these around the house that inspire people to pursue greater and greater DIY projects. Videos like this build confidence and provide a great way to evaluate personal skills. I think these projects absolutely have a place on your main channel if you were so inclined.
I love these! They're all great! And I love your transition to the ad haaha
i love peoples DIY and creative things. I LOVE the plant holders!! 😍😍 ita amazing to see what people come up with!
(also loving the soap holder and the cupboards!)
Simone: "Still wouldn't want to date you though"
Random internet people: "Auch :/ :("
So my Simone will you marry me is out I guess
Why she gotta attack every single one of us personally like that?
That joke put a smile to my face and i liked the video for that alone.
Me, ugly AND boring: Your hopes and dreams can't be crushed if you never had any!
And you just know her dms and email inbox are filled with viewers taking things to far in that regard (im sure that's who she was targeting, not just her general audience)
actually in need of flat and furniture inspiration! Missed some of the bigger builds in this video, so great I saw this one! :)
Thanks Simone. Fascinating projects. Really enjoy your work.
When Simone gets a baby: “Okay guys. This one really took a long time to make, and I’m not sure if I like how it turned out. It’s cute, but it is also very noisy and you can’t turn it off.”
Well… you can actually.. It’s more like a self destruct button. You shouldn’t…. But you want to…. Sometimes…. But you don’t, because the baby has taken control. This is your fate now. Bow to your master.
Imagine the kid having a bad day, just hanging around all bored and depressed, laying on the couch browsing through some holograms on a smart phone, while supposed to be doing homework or chores. Simone would see her child and say out loud "Great, another useless thing I made!". It will make the kid feel better, knowing that coming from Simone, it means "I love you só much and I am proud of you".

I think these are great ideas and very cute. The first shelf really looks good. We use similar ideas when we repair/remodel our rentals. It's a great way to use scraps that would otherwise get wasted and create a nice little feature at the same time. And the bed step idea is also great. I'm going to use that one for sure! I'd love to see expanded videos on these even if they're not very long. Keep up the great work! And remember, sometimes simple is the way to go!
This isn’t boring at all!! I’m so impressed by your creativity and everything you build, and you have a wonderful personality to make the whole process fun to watch. 10/10 new fave UA-cam channel!!!!!💚

Nice! I dig the stripper pole for the plants and your soaps ... little projects deserve appreciation too!! Thanks for sharing
I think the things you make are really interesting, and I definitely noticed the projector shelf in the plamp video before I saw this one. Looked clean, and...I like projectors. Keep killing it.

Keep the vids coming, I got hooked by your puzzle table and look forward to watching other projects!
These are all great. Thanks for doing these videos, it’s really kool to see smart everyday aesthetic solutions. 👍
"How much could you realistically love a toilet paper shelf." Uh, that one, like a lot?… No but, its actually really awesome, really like the shape and the colour and i actually really dig the texture that it has.
Also that wallpaper behind it is excellent, too! The bright red really goes with it well.

i felt that pretty deep
Nah, you get used to it. Then you meet someone who DOESN'T say it, and you lose control and start slobbering like a rabid dog. Then they say it.
Ehhh - I thought it a bit arrogant. I'm not ugly or boring and I wouldn't date someone whose life is so strongly influenced by a dog. I know that's probably not a popular opinion right now but, like I said I'm not ugly and not boring and so have never needed to run with the sheeple.
