On the plus side, with the nerve wracking Ted Talk now done, after the surgery you'll really have a huge load off your mind. #TumorHumour (For real, though, good luck!)
That's a weird combo of US/UK spelling! TumorHumor or TumourHumour I could understand, but TumorHumour? I think you need to take a break from the intarwebz Simon, it's mangling your native (correct) spelling ;-) To totally add to the confusion, being a Swede, Simone would have a Swedish Tumour, which is spelt Tumör. So TumörHumör (No, not making this up!). That's some pretty good multilinqual word play she's got going on there! Get well soon Simone, the world needs more terrible puns!
Saw the TED talk. You did very well. Awesomely in fact. And you say "I dont know what Ive done to deserve all of us" when talking about our full support, the answer to that is you are just a genuinely awesome person, you are authentic, youre passionate about your interest and we love having you around :)
Her mom is a tv presenter for a swedish tv show called "det okända", its about ghosts and mediums helping families lol. Its my guilty pleasure watching it
You're the high point of UA-cam, sister. TED talks WERE made for the like of you. You represent a disproportionate share of the good and beautiful things humans have to give to the universe and each other. Seriously, I'd name my daughter after you if Simone wasn't a male name where I live :D We love you so much, and we're grateful for what you are. Stay strong
Tony James when I was in college, I was fabulous at procrastibaking, which is similar, because it’s baking first and then you get the added distraction of cleaning up afterwards. Never mind the fact I had a newborn too, that helps.

You are so inspiring! As an young woman trying to go into a stem field, your passion, humor, and innovation encourage me to pursue my passion but remind me not to take setbacks or any one project too seriously. I tend to suffer from anxiety and perfectionism so this is a lesson that is really important for me to take in. Thank you so much for being your awesome quirky self and sharing it with us! I hope your surgery goes well. You will be in my thoughts that day.
The TED talk was exactly what I needed at this point of my life! I have been feeling so down and useless lately, there are so many goals that I want to achieve and I never really end up spending more than a few hours on them before giving up BECAUSE of performance anxiety. I am definitely going to take your advice and plan for success by planning to succeed in creating something that fails! Thank you for the TED talk and All the best for the surgery! I look forward to seeing more from you! The world, but mostly me, definitely needs it!
Simone: "Maybe you're procrastinating something by watching me procrastinate." Me: "What, like the Advanced Russian exam I have in less than 24 hours that I haven't studied for? Or packing up my dorm room for imminent move-out? Nah, I'm not procrastinating."
When they put you under anesthesia, you should sing "Daisy" in voices that keep changing pitch. Then do it again when they wake you up. The young doctors will just think you're weird, but the older ones will laugh themselves into comas. Also, just before you go into surgery, say "What do you think you're doing, Dave?" in a strangely flat voice. Or maybe not. Best wishes and prayers for a successful surgery that leaves all your important parts intact.
This is a reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey, an epic science fiction film from 1968. In it the AI gets a little... well, it gets a little funny, and Spaceman Dave ends up having to do some emergency brain (sort of) surgery on it.
I suddenly found myself reading your comment in Peter Sellers's President Merkin Muffley voice: "Just a little ... you know ... funny. And, he ... went and did a silly thing. "He sent our pods to attack your astronaut."
imo What you've done to deserve people caring about you? Oh...spread a combination of joy and intelligence around in a world where both are rare. Good luck in the surgery...prayers rise like smoke. imo
Simone, your Ted talk was excellent! Especially enjoyed the Googlie Eye shirt. Be strong, be yourself on surgery day. Fall asleep thinking of the most awesome happy place. The great meds will keep you in your happy place until it's over. My son had a brain tumor which was considered inoperable but a fine surgeon disagreed and so glad he was a champion much like yourself. The world is a better place with people like you! Safe journey....until you're back on UA-cam!
Had to watch the talk now, and laughed all the way through. You were a little nervous, but you pushed through it, and even incorporated that nervousness into the talk - it was awesome, and so are you. Thank you!
Just finished watching the talk. You were phenomenal. Good luck with the surgery. You will be in my thoughts on the 30th. May the advancements of medical science be with you.
You are Amazing! I love all your videos, I send you all the best and look forward to hearing from you post surgery. Congratulations on your Ted Talk Simone, that's an incredible achievement . Thank You!
As someone who suffers from some performance anxiety, your Ted Talk gave me some good feels... It's helpful to know that it doesn't always have to be perfect to be successful. You're doing a great job!
I wish I could give this more than just one thumbs up. And as someone else mentioned, someone needs to make googley eye badges so we can all buy one and then meet random Simone supporters. Sending as much scientific positive thoughts or vibrations or wishes or random acts of kindness your way Simone.
Yeah, yeah. The TED talk was awesome and amazing and all that and you did a really great job not having shaky hands during it and not forgetting the words and being an inspiration and standing ovation and blah blah blah but can we talk about THAT GOOGLEY EYE SHIRT?!!!! Thoroughly amazing. Just like you!
I pray that you had nothing to do with building any of the machine they will use in the hospital. We are all sending you love and support for your surgery and (hopefully) full recovery
I really do hope eveything gets ok after the surgery. I saw your TED, then started to follow at the social media channels and I think you're amazing. It's very important to have someone like you in the world, so please don't die. And get a quick recovery!
i just fight off brain tumour not long ago, it ruined my degree almost completely but I'm happy that I'm well again. Now I'm more certain who I want to be afterward. I watched the talk and you're still the funny you! love you so much!
The TED Talk was great and very inspiring. I think a lot of us never realize that fear is one of the biggest influences in our lives, causing us to change direction and often not in the right direction...well said Simone....thanks and Best Wishes!!!
Hi Simone! I watched the ted talk first and then I noticed that I've seen lots of your videos without knowing who did them. Your TED talk is literary amazing!!! It is great to know you have a beautiful youtube channel. My father survived intestine cancer and hart surgery, I wish you survive as well. OR ACTUALLY YOU HAVE TO!! Our planet needs people like you, and I'm excited to see more videos. Thank you Karim
I study abroad in Vancouver and I had no idea my school was so close to the TED talk building. Had I known I would have definitely come to your TED talk.
Just watched the TED. You're so fucking brilliant. Being familiar with your current posts, I'm glad you beat the fucking tumor. Please stay alive and continue learning.
Really enjoyed your TED talk and am so glad people like you exist. Really makes the world a more fun place to live. Good luck and I'm sure you know but everyone is rooting for you.
haha seriously! my Alexa totally answered you questioned about the weight conversion. That has got to be a new' mess with your viewers thing'. Just yell weird commands to Alexa during your video. Great talk by the way
Simone, I will pray for your quick recovery, also you did an awesome job on TED, perfect presentation. Have someone get on after your operation on May 30th and let us know how your doing.
“Maybe you’re procrastinating something by watching me procrastinate”. Yes Simone, I have an important exam tomorrow morning and that is exactly what I’m doing.
Prayers, good thoughts, and all the best to you. I started watching UA-cam videos when I was recovering from a motorcycle accident. Engineering note, never whether on purpose, or accident shift from third to first, and let the clutch out at 40 mph. Bad things happen. Anyway I’ve come to love, and appreciate the talent, and energy many put into their videos. You’ve now become my favorite. It is your genuineness, and honesty that make you the star you are. I’ll be following your progress.
I'm in love with your googley eye shirt, but I am also crying after watching your TED talk. ♥ Perfect advice for a perfectionist; I hope your surgery goes well, and will be praying with you on the 30th!
congratulations and standing ovations... well merited.... you do a unique kind of things in your unique way and it makes feel good watching you doing it.... thanks for that and be back soon... all the best for the surgery...
I watched the TED talk and was pretty disappointed that there wasn't more reactions and cheers from the audience. You rock! All the best with the surgery!!
Person introducing Simone: She's here to tell us why we should all be more comfortable when making things that are a bit *rubbish* , please welcome Simone *G I E R T Z*
Are you trying to say she pronounced Simone's name incorrectly? It is not pronounced how it looks. Simone has talked about that in her videos. They got it right, or close to it.
Hey, Simone. I have massive performance anxiety issues. That was legit the best TED talk I've ever seen. I wish I could leave a comment that adequately describes it. Just... thank you so much. I really hope the surgery goes well. You're wonderful. Thanks.
Holy shit the talk was amazing. I also have performance anxiety and I'm amazed how you turned things around. Speaking of turning things around, all the best for your surgery!
It's the little things in life, really :D When she scanned the barcode, I was like "Wait...." and then she scanned the second one, and it just made me smile :P Someone purposely coded that!
Great video. I think that shirt turned out great. I wish you the best. Surgeons are really great people. They do know what they are doing. The weirdest thing is you don't know anything about it. I woke up after 7.5 hours of surgery and was happy as being out on a beautiful spring day as I was alive. The anesthesiology keeps you under for the precise amount of time. You will appreciate them when you see the bill. Unfortunately these stock exchanged owned hospitals take 25% of the cut of everything. Dell hospital here in Austin has a better ratio. I hope your surgery goes as well as mine did. 14 months later I am just about done with the chemo and all of its little side effects. Good luck and get things in order and you will have a great appreciation of what is important in life. I would like to see your videos after. The healing process is pretty fast for getting you back to being alive but there are many things that you think about each day for months. Please document those for yourself and have them when you feel you can share them. I have alot of footage I took that I only showed to 1 or 2 people but intend to help others with it that are facing the big black abyss or so they worry about. REMEMBER Attitude is 50% of the healing process!
Simone, your laugh and your smile are both beautiful and contagious, you're being incredibly strong and have a wonderful attitude to life and your situation, I loved your TED talk, hope everything goes well! Will be waiting to hear! 😊
I don't normally comment on videos, but after watching that TED talk, as an engineer who admires the work of science communicators, what a great talk! 🙌 Both the script, and the delivery. Excellent. With the proper dose of "simoney-ness" off-scripting slipped in. 👌 Perfectly encompassed everything about Simone in 11 minutes.
I usually don't care for TED Talks, but when I saw yours show up on my feed, clicked super fast! I really enjoyed it :) thanks for sharing the message.
"Maybe you're procrastinating something by watching my procrastinate."
i feel so attacked right now
One year later, still under attack over here.

That boopy noise when she scanned your card was the best
I thought this - It sounds like the TED start up theme
Science with Katie : Hi Katie, love your channel.
I noticed that as well. It's the little things.
how in the world do you always get the most likes in all videos Katie?
Science with Katie girl you really need to get off UA-cam you watch way too many videos
Just think, if you do need to wear an eyepatch you can put a googly eye on it.

"are you nervous too?"

Bernardo Moreira get to work bernardo!!!
You made “ My” Alexa go off when she heard you yell “Alexa...” LOL
I am procrastinating from homework by using a weird circle knitting loom thing and watching you at the same time.
When the lady scanned your tags it made the TED waterdrop sound 🤣
I usually don't care for TED Talks, but when I saw yours show up on my feed, clicked super fast! I really enjoyed it :) thanks for sharing the message.
Omg I'm so proud of you! I cried (happily) while watching your talk. You did a great job honestly!!
