I like this. More in-depth development of my idea with some gameplay footage to provide context to the nuances of each gun while you’re talking about them and thanks for the shoutout too. Anyways I really like your in-depth reasoning behind each choice and I guess really a subjective. I don’t agree with everything but I can’t really tell you that you’re wrong or I’m right LMAO.
And that’s the beauty of subjectivity in tier lists lol. For instance, someone else might find more value with gadget combos and take that into account in their own tier list. (For what it’s worth in my eyes, I think Freon Bomb or Oil Slick combined with Doom Disks is a nasty combination that should bump them up a tier. Because it feels to me that you get significantly more frequent critical hit OHKOs if you’re using the DDs like a point-blank shotgun, you can use the former two gadgets to hinder the enemy’s mobility enough to get in their face!)
i fully agree with this tier list except for Atom Blaster. I needed it just to beat the Adventure mode on Very Hard difficulty which would make me put it a bit higher on this tier list. Also kind of ironic that the gadget for your profile picture is ranked the lowest.
I could see Atom Blaster being bumped up a tier. It's just lining up the shots in certain situations that hold it back. If you're up against certain weapons that have knockback (unlike the Atom Blaster) you could have some trouble. And yeah it is funny that I put Ripper Wheels the lowest. Now, if I did a gadget ICON tier list based on how the icons look, Ripper Wheels would be #1!
@@overdrive_srs I was wondering about that. At first I thought maybe there some sort of secret technique that made ripper wheels good that I didn’t know about. Now I know. :)
I haven't seen this game in ages, but watching the clips reminded me of how much fun I had with with it as a kid. Such a unique arena game, it's strange to think there's not really been much like it since. Would play the hell out of an online multiplayer version. Your tier list is pretty much my assessment of the weapons from playing back then, though I'd put the Sonic Boom a little higher. The damage is bad but it's reliable, you don't have to face your enemy meaning you can much more easily avoid being in their line of fire.
From my experience, I think the variability in damage of Laser Cannon is based on your speed. For example, if you're standing still and hit someone, it won't do much damage compared to if you are driving at someone at full speed and hit them with Laser Canon. I could be wrong though, because I haven't gone and tested this.
May be a bug. Definitely not the case in general. Only the ripper wheels could possibly fit that scenario, but even that’s only when you can wedge the opponent between the wall and your car upon impact. Edit: the damage is based off the distance traveled.
Quantum Annihilator should be OP and Sonic Boom should be Great for spamming, but I agree with everything else. I used to have fun using the Quantum Annihilator in Battle Mode with infinite ammo at Treadwell Plaza when all the AI is gathered in the underground garage, as Max says 3 different catchphrases all at once every time they're hit. It's pretty funny. You can even spam the Quantum Annihilator in a spot where the AI always spawns.
The reason I didn't put Quantum Annihilator in OP is because the Energy Shield is truly unbeatable, whereas you can technically beat the Quantum Annihilator. Like, imagine the enemy misses their shot and you spam them with Magnet Mine from a distance, or something. Or, you get a sneak attack on them. I can understand putting Sonic Boom as great, but at the same time, for me it is just good, because the damage output being so low matters a lot to me. Wrecking havoc with the Quantum Annihilator is a great stress-reliever, definitely.
Personally I think Atom Blaster should be higher. Its the only weapon with a constant rate of fire, easy to use, tracking, and consumes a respectable amount of bars for it's damage output.
I could definitely see Atom Blaster being bumped up a tier. All of that is true except for the ease of use, because depending on what you're up against you could be in a lot of trouble. Being hit by a Magnet Mine or Laser Cannon or even a Freon Bomb could screw you up a lot and now you're not aligned well enough to hit the enemy.
Thanks. Weird, I usually try to make it louder than I think it needs to be because I've seen so many videos with that problem and it's annoying. I'll raise the volume of the mic in the next video.
The original reason I played on low settings was when I had a much worse computer that needed to have low settings to record videos at a good framerate. Despite upgrading, I've kept the same low settings intact. It would probably be fine to increase them, but one problem is lag that can happen sometimes, like with the Freon Bomb particle effects. In the case of speedrunning (and in general) that can be really annoying, so I just keep the settings low all the time.
The Sonic Boom is definitely useful in Joyride when you’re looking for the gears hidden inside crates. That AoE is so helpful.
26:46 What a smooth butter landing, only to just die as soon as someone touches you. Talk about a buzzkill!
I'm gonna join the train on wanting a car tier list.
HW Prototype 12, Amazing, Great, Average, Bad, and Twin-Mill II for the tiers.

good list, my favorites were always magnet mine and sonic boom because no aiming required

I had the Adam blaster low too. I love this game, but the handling can be a bit finicky and lining up the beams can be hard.

Talking about laser Canon you can hit the enemies long distance when you too Far was you see them
When your weapon is point in oponent than you can hit them with laser canon

Informative video, but your mic is way too quiet.

Challenge run of Overdrive on Very Hard, battle vs one Surfin School Bus where he can only use Oil Drum when? B^)))
:O
sonic 🅱️oom
Can you do a car tier list?

True

We need velocity x remastered 😢
The closest we have is Velocity Redux. It does have an issue here and there, but it is still very solid and fun.
@@overdrive_srs yesss i know vrx is actually awsome :3
