My girlfriend overheard me listening to this podcast and when he was talking about getting kicked off Emerica, she thought he talking about ‘America’ and started asking questions about governmental skateboarding contracts
Lol I use to think they were the same person when I was younger. I always heard the name spanky and I thought his name was Bryan Herman, rather than Kevin Long
Maggots are actually used to keep scabs clean on the elderly who struggle with wounds healing in a timely manner. They were actually keeping the wound clean and uninfected for him. But yeah gross af.
@@stusux Yeah man that was driving me nuts, I just wanted to pop into the convo for a min and be like "yo maggots are good for infections!" Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the Doc put them there while he was out or something.
damn his 3 flip in baker 3 on that stone grey/white double set one of the cleanest ever, and his macba tricks. I always loved how baker/emerica always had a team of homies that skated and got tricks at the same spots in their vids, It made things that much more real like when your seshing a local spot with the homies.
Easily one of my favorite episodes. To see B Herm turn 15k into 2 million is awesome. Hes a legend and a part of skate history forever. Emerica and Baker parts will always be watched. Much respect !
I grew up in Palmdale CA and visited Pharmacy board shop almost every day in the late 90s early 2000s. Bryan was my hero. I would see him every now and again and always wanted to be like him. Can't wait to listen to this.
Ive seen Bryan Herman twice, once at a baker demo when I was a kid and I played him a game of skate (of course) he kicked my ass Haha ...And the second time at an Emerica demo and he sat down and chatted with me like if I met him for years. Bryan Herman is such a cool as happy dude and down to earth
Man Bryan is a living example of how attitude is everything. He comes from a humble place and is persistent and grateful. Such an inspirational skater and dude 💯
Honestly B-Herm is the best dude ever! So happy for him for getting sober I am also sober 5 yrs and it’s been amazing! Sober = skating 100x better so I hope we’ll see a new Herm part soon!
Does anyone remember Reynolds use that Goodfella reference to describe him being happy for Herman??? That's exactly how I feel watching this episode. Herman really did it Thanks nineclub
ive watched almost every episode and i have to say this was one of my favorites. ive obviously seen bryans skating but had no idea what kind of person he was before this. he seems like a rad individual who would take a shirt of his back for a friend. i hope shit keeps working out for him.
Pharmacy Lancaster is my local shop best ride shop hands down. And I remember watching Pharmacy “Next Sunday” with my bro as a young gun, Matt Allen and Herman have always ripped, its dope to see how far they have gone fersure.
Thank you Nine Club! Always liked Herman, but this is one of the best episodes you guys have done, dude has lived a full life. Great episode, was sad when it was over because I was so happy while it was going on.
i have a old blitz catalog with birdhouse, hook ups, firm, baker etc from '03/'04 with the photo's of the whole scene of herman going pro. he has always been one of my favorites. this was the best nine club episode by far.
Easily, one of the best episodes!! Loved Herman since I was 12 and I'm stoked to see how well he's handling his skating, passions, and investments outside of skating! Thanks, Nine Club! ❤
This episode was one of the best in a while and I think part of that is down to Herman being so chill and honest. What an inspiration on so many levels. Thank you Nice Club. Great job on this one. Gonna go re-watch all his parts now haha.
I've always "liked" Herman a lot, after watching this "liked" is an understatement. He is one of the coolest most genuine dudes period. He definitely is "that dude" everyone wants to hang with. So stoked things fell into place for him, he deserves it all no doubt.
I started skating back in '03, the same year "This is skateboarding" came out. Reynolds, Heath and Bryan were some of the most influential skaters for me at the time and still is to this day. Humble dude, insane lifestory, still killin' it, fuck yeah Herman👊🏻❤️ #HardflipLegend
This was HANDS DOWN the most INFLUENTIAL podcast I've ever seen!! Thanks for this and HUGE thanks to Bryan for opening up about his life. Im gonna be steady stacking and working towards a better future. I make good money but I've been burning each dollar on going out and bullshit. Im focusing on the goals i have and now i have the kick in the ass to EXECUTE!!
Woah, rollercoaster of a life and still keeping it going. I was not expecting this kind of story. I'm so psyched for Herman, such a bright dude, mad respect!
Unforgettable NINE CLUB episode!! Nine Club always doing it RIGHT!! showing sides of these skaters and their lives that us fans would never know about if it wasn't for this show. THANK YOU NINE CLUB!!! Bryan Herman - bad ass skater !!!amazing life story, good-hearted soul, honest hard worker creating positive actions, also using his full potential on various opportunities that life has shaped
Nine club, congratulations, id say that for many of us this has been your best episode. Herman, what a personality he is, I would probably never meet him in my life but Im so happy for him, and happy for what skateboarding can do for someone.
Was skatin next to him in wild in the streets and I reached out to shake his hand while skating through Detroit and I gotta say, i was surprised by how soft his hands were
been 10 years since I used to skateboard. But my brother got me into it and he recently passed. But one of our favorites we could always relate to was B Herms, he's my favorite even looking back on it
Greatest episode ever. Herman has always been my favorite skater and seeing what a straight up awesome guy he is was amazing. You guys all killed it once again.
I was literally late for work because I couldn’t stop watching this. Herman you are the greatest. That heath moment in the movies along with the moped ride!! I felt like I was their laughing with you guys!!
This has got to be one of the most inspirational 9 clubs I’ve ever seen. Good guys don’t always finish last, 15 thousand turns to a quarter mil which turns to 2 million. Glad to see he’s living his life the best way he can
Really sucks that Emerica couldn’t work something out to keep Herman on the team. He’s a living legend. I feel like once older pros earn a spot in skate history as one of the greats, it should be like tenure regardless of whether or not they still go buck like their prime.
So beautiful watching this show grow. Herm is one of the reasons I skate. I love seeing all my favorites explain the come up thank you guys for this show!!
christ right!! Herman's class group is like the first generation of skaters that got to see skaters making real money. The early 2000's was like the gold rush for skateboarding lol.
Jason Reimer have you not watched any of these episodes? 90 percent of the dudes on here literally say they didn’t know you could even make money from skating...
Such a humble guy great episode
Chris Miramontes I'd bet 100 bucks that you're a virgin

@McDonald's Big Mac sounds like a funny convo to have.
That's truly tin foil yo!! She into Flat Earth?
still the best nine club comment of all time.
Bryan Herman what a great human....my respect.
Wow. Herman has been one of my favorites and hearing his story is incredible. Absolutely incredible. Dude deserves all the success he has achieved.
FINALLY. a bryan herman episode. I'm still lobbying for a Heath episode. The culture DEMANDS it.
DaRealCheo for the!!
Yes we need a Heath ep! I wanna hear about filming for Mindfield.
HEEEEAAAAAATTTTTHHHHH

B Herms. Man him and spanky are what got me into skating. The “hesh” days
D B same!
Days are still good, but that was a good time to skate imo
1997 to 2003 middle school to high school great days for skateboarding
Same man!

Herman's life story is movie worthy
the rewatch was even better than the first watch.
Herm really is such a great guy.
Drawing/doodling for a straight 2 hours & listening to this video in the background 👌 Hermans a pretty down to earth, inspiring dude
4th time watching this one, this one and Reynolds were my two favorites so far...Please get Greco on the show!
This is SUCH a good episode; Great vibes all around too. The Nine Club is a true gift to skateboarding.
This was easily the best one in a while. Amazing.
That maggot story got me.

Baker 3 is the video that got me into skateboarding and making videos. the OG Baker crew is the best.
Hell yeah.
Thank you the nine club with Chris Roberts
The nine club is a great podcast. It's nostalgia central with all the legend skater's featured on the show.

Damn all I want is a PJ nine club. My all time favorite skater yet I still don't know much about him
Silence is golden
Man I know exactly how you feel
yeah man. PJ cust kinda disappeared..

He got me into 3 flips. Him and Reynolds were my favorite skaters growing up. Still are.
Kids in emerica video is still the best tour skatevideo to this day imo Herman is a legendary skater.
I used to rewatch that video over and over!
One of the show's best episodes !!
Man Bryan is a living example of how attitude is everything. He comes from a humble place and is persistent and grateful. Such an inspirational skater and dude 💯

This interview could’ve been twice as long and I would’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Herm is such a good story teller.

I like that he said “I was always trying to get sponsored.” Instead of the classic “I didn’t even know you could be a sponsored skater”
Owen Quercia he’s younger than most of the guest that’s why. By 2000 the track to pro was laid out pretty obviously.
