Yeah it's crazy that daewon is a rare interview, just bc he is the nicest guy ever. I hope that this show was a great experience for him and he comes back. Also how sick wld it be to have Daniel Castillo and daewon on w jeron! Epic
He probably wouldn't have came if it wasn't for Torey. And Torey was cool enough to be quiet for us fans. Can't stand when a podcast finally pulls a legend but there's someone else there kinda fucking everything up trying to talk over them.
I swore he had one because everything he said in this episode I have heard before. I kept thinking "why is Chris asking him all the same stories?". But then I remembered it was all from the transworld documentary on him. Which makes sense, when someone is telling their life story they only have one life story.

Daewon, thanks for bringing me one of your own brand new World boards from home when Mario from Circle-M Skateshop in Anaheim called you. It was 1991, you were 16 and rolled up in a Honda and handed me a deck. Memories.

I met Daewon in Brea CA at a skate shop called Liberty Boardshop. It was so cool. He was such a nice person to my brother and I. I was about 7 my brother was 10 in the early 2000’s. We used to just watch him skate the parking lot with the older guys. We would always be at that skate shop and anytime he showed up he would always go out of his way to say hello to us. I’m glad he’s doing well! Much love Daewon.
He goes out of his way to be personable w fans. He is a great person and skateboarding owes so much to him

Amazing episode, hearing Daewon & all the stories, him being such an influential skater in skateboarding history & being so humble & grateful and grounded is awesome. It would be incredible to see Rodney Mullen & him back on the show one day.
Growing up and skating in the mid nineties, Daewon was mind blowing. His World board with the dolphin was so sick and iconic.
Daewon Song has been my favorite skater for about 17 years, dude doesn't know it but was and still is a huge part of my life.

I watched Savannah Slamma in person. Glad to hear Daewon loved the video! Growing up as a skateboarder in Savannah, we were basically only seeing the magazines or Powell videos. The surfshop had Santa Cruz Wheels of Fire /Streets of Fire/Hocus Pocus but when Love Child came out, THAT VIDEO CHANGED MY ENTIRE LIFE. Snarf snarf.

I’m 27 and getting back into skating and this show has inspired me so much, I suck right now, and seeing my homies do everything makes really stoked to learn at first I felt late to the game cause I just wish I had taken it more seriously when I young but I’m just happy to be here and having fun, any advise for a old beginner so to speak 🤣 love everyone here

That was so damn good. Daewon and Torey were both in my top 5 favorites when i was younger, which is funny because Torey is my age, but the way he did kickflip crooks and backtails, the pop, the long front crooks and nollie flipping in to shit.. I was so inspired.. and to me daewon just did so much crazy shit I didn't think it was possible so I didn't even try to learn. I really WISH you guys played more clips of the guests skating.. the deca 2nd to none part, almost round 3, skate more.. toreys big bang and all his parts and insanely difficult tricks. Definitely need to watch more clips with the guests like these 😎😎😎
