  • Our online series of Live & Ticking webinars keep you updated with the latest British Heart Foundation (BHF) funded science taking place across the UK.
In this edition, we learn about chest pain including the potential causes, how it can be diagnosed and the best ways to treat those affected by angina-related chest pain.
    Event speakers:
Fearghal McKinney - Head of BHF Northern Ireland hosts and guides us through this webinar by introducing the topic of chest pain and poses viewers’ questions to our panel of experts.
Chris Pye - BHF supporter explains how he experienced chest pain whilst on a weekly run, which he attributed to muscle strain or indigestion, and how two years later he was taken to hospital for a heart attack after the pain returned.
Yianna Theodorou - BHF Senior Research Engagement Officer helps to navigate through Chris’ story.
Dr Peter Swoboda - Consultant Cardiologist and Associate Professor in Cardiology at University of Leeds discusses his research which aims to discover the best way to diagnose patients with chest pain, and whether taking a more personalised care approach might lead to better health outcomes and improved quality of life.
Regina Giblin - BHF Senior Cardiac Nurse helps to answer viewers’ clinical questions relating to chest pain, and heart and circulatory disease.
