  • This is a 300+ foot property line at my grandpa's that needed a fence; he wanted metal so we pulled out the welder and went to work on this DIY metal fence.
The welded metal fence has 3 gates, 2 - 20' and 1 - 16'. They are motorized sliders which means our footings are twice as long as the gate. In Part 1 of this series we dig and pour the cement footing for the first 20' gate. This also involves installing the two metal poles which are offset from each other; one will have a roller guide to support the gate while it opens and closes and the other post will be in-line with the gate and will have a catch to help support the gate when fully closed. The sliding gate installation will happen as we begin to do the fence installation itself.
Make sure you stay tuned for part two, three and four.... that is where most of the really exciting stuff will happen. You will be able to see us learn how to install a sliding gate. You'll also be able to see the landscaping improvement to the front yard as this beautiful fence takes shape!
Please subscribe and like, it helps us out and we'll keep working on recording some fun projects.
