Stalactites and stalagmites all over the place. I bet nobody's been down there for a very very long time. The space looks pretty small though. Might be pretty tight to crawl around down there. Totally awesome though. Thanks for the video.
Judging by the size of the entrance I'd say no one has ever been down there. I have explored many caves and that cave looks like it has never had humans in it before. Also, I believe that the entrance or anything else about the cave is naturally formed. It has all the classic tell-tale signs of a cave that a small section of the roof collapsed leaving a classic sink-hole cave entrance. It is entirely possible that the cave ceiling may have recently collapsed at that spot, (possibly within the last 10 years) and had been inaccessible and unknown for millions of years. It takes a lot of years for stalagmites to form that large. In my opinion, he is probably the first human to ever see the inside of that cave. I hope he gets the opening larger and explores it further.
Many "soda straws" at the bottoms, too. NO ONE has ever been down that hole, since soda straws can't stand to be disturbed or they simply break off. An inch of soda straw is something like hundreds of years of age and I saw several straws several FEET long. A new method of cave exploration! When a passage is too tiny for a person to wiggle thru, tie off a Go-Pro and lower it into the tiny passage...
K. W. Churchill As tiny as several of the colums are, it is safe ro assume no person has been in that area for thousands of years. So, never! "Soda straws" are so delictate... Just brearhing on them can break them. And walking past them will generate enough turbulance to break them. So, while this shows extremely delicate formatuons, it also shows passage that NO person could have ever passed through!
Just learned not to walk in the woods at night...NOT TO RUN, and to really WATCH MY STEP IN THE DAY. So easy to misstep brake your leg and slip into oblivion. Oh my.
Uh...it has eyes. Definitely not a leaf...whatever it is, it looks blind, probably adapted over time. It's camouflaged very well, but it's there for sure! Good eye!
When exploring a cave alone in which no one knows where you are or even if they do know where the cave is I would think it good to leave a marker of some kind up higher then setting on the ground to make the location of the cave easier to find for others that may come looking for you when you are down under. Head height would be a good height to hang a noticeable marker of some kind.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of this cave when you return. Don't let the haters / self appointed desk chair safety police get you down. The vast majority of us enjoy your efforts and can see you use good common sense.
Depends on the machine. Usually the models above entry-level have enough sensitivity to operate if there's even a few gaps in the tree cover (and you aren't in some kind of steep valley), in my experience.
To appreciate, one must love nature and have the heart of an explorer. Only then would you fully understand the thousand times of somewhat ordinary in anticipation of that one spectacular discovery. Rock on Chig!
I do hope you have a personal locator beacon on you? Everyone that goes out like this, especially alone should. There is also something called recco tape that would be worth investing in as it is quickly picked up by a FLR camera. These items make great gifts as well for the outdoor enthusiast in your live.
Did ya ever think that the ancestors may have plugged that hole up with rocks for a good reason? You're gonna disturb the troll.... and then he's gonna run rampant through the town kidnapping virgins and stealing all the gold.
@@sharondavis4120 I was a virgin until I was 21 when I got w/ my husband. Not because of religious reasons, I’m Cherokee w/ a little Nordic heritage as well, so I was raised by an eclectic witch & a shaman, both w/ a mix of pagan beliefs, so I was taught to make my own path & decisions. I just never wanted to have sex w/ anyone until I met the man I married. We made love the 2nd time we hung out, declared our love & have been madly in love for 7 years now. My family thought I was either secretly gay or a-sexual (which would’ve been fine) because I never even had a boyfriend until him. My pointless point is that there are actually way more virgins than people would think, it’s just a few religious people who are actually vocal about it. It isn’t something people like to discuss b/c you almost feel ashamed, like something is wrong w/ you b/c you don’t have a desire to date/have sex. Pardon the rant, your statement just provoked a lot of thought.
After watching the part you pointed out a few times in slow-motion, and watching that area when he pulls the camera out, I believe we are seeing a clump of decaying leaves. It's not a bat or fish, unfortunately. It would be way cooler if it was!! If you pay attention to other debris down there, you'll see a lot of the black/brown, slick/shiny/wet looking material. Playing the video back in .25 speed helps to give you time to analyze the material. I believe I can clearly see the veining on the foliage, as well as the edges which don't appear to look like skin/scales/ect. I can also see areas where it looks like multiple leaves have sort of rolled themselves together.. Try watching this part of the video in .25 playback speed, 17:41. You should be able to see that the "mystery object" is no longer in the same position (it appeared upright in the part you mentioned.) Now it appears to have been knocked by the camera and at one point I think the camera is actually pulled over the object, giving us a better view to look at it closer up. I hope this helps! It's been awhile since you posted your comment, so you may have lost interest, but I decided to reply just in case. Plus it may be interesting to others who see your comment. Anyway, thanks for pointing that out! It was interesting to try and figure out what it may be. Have a wonderful weekend!

I love when you drop that GoPro down into that very narrow entrance to that absolutely gorgeous underground wonderland.
Aquachigger dude, I really enjoy hangin out with you! You are a great host guide!
johnrv501 hi
I love watching your caving videos, Chigg. Sometimes the caves don't pay off, but this was a good one. Keep it up dude.
6:33 you shined right over a snake
Ya made us look, but no snake to be seen. What kind & where?

Wow! So cool! I’ve never seen anything like this before. Thanks for sharing.
My subtitles said- “wouldn’t it be cool if there were some cannibals down here?” 😂
Wow, what a trip! Does anybody else try to look round the corners or is it just me 🤔. Thanks for sharing Mr Chigg.
You now have me questioning every single hole I've ever walked by.
Because of your videos, I've planned an entire summer of exploring the North Maine Woods. If I find any cannon balls, I'll send them your way!

Alexandria Alexander Thank you for the correction, I guess I was so excited about heading into the woods I wasn't paying much attention. 😁😋

Beautifully done, from beginning to end! Loved it! :)
When a passage is too tiny for a person to wiggle thru, tie off a Go-Pro and lower it into the tiny passage...
no human has ever seen this until now I would think

Where?
Amazing video! Wow! Absolutely beautiful down there! 👍
Very cool; thanks for posting. I'm glad I found this video again so I could leave a message this time.
Just learned not to walk in the woods at night...NOT TO RUN, and to really WATCH MY STEP IN THE DAY. So easy to misstep brake your leg and slip into oblivion. Oh my.

Haha I was just thinking the exact same thing. What a shit way to die that would be.. ;')
Well, I would rather brake my leg, than break it.
@@swillswill idk man, friction burns are nasty as hell. Not sure but i think id rather break than brake
What was that at 15:59 through 16:06? It moved twice it's blue in the bottom left corner.
That was a leaf
sure doesn't look like a leaf to me.
Uh...it has eyes. Definitely not a leaf...whatever it is, it looks blind, probably adapted over time. It's camouflaged very well, but it's there for sure! Good eye!
Probably a bat
That would have scared the crap out of me. I saw it too
When exploring a cave alone in which no one knows where you are or even if they do know where the cave is I would think it good to leave a marker of some kind up higher then setting on the ground to make the location of the cave easier to find for others that may come looking for you when you are down under. Head height would be a good height to hang a noticeable marker of some kind.
GoPro's venture where no man dares to go, sweet find Bro . . .

I'm looking forward to seeing more of this cave when you return. Don't let the haters / self appointed desk chair safety police get you down. The vast majority of us enjoy your efforts and can see you use good common sense.
Sweetpea he has done nothing wrong or wrecklass. He is a nice, entertaining guy. If these vids bother you don't watch.
Look at the top of the screen. 17:30 see anything moving? It happens really fast, so pay attention.

Dayuuummm!!! Look at all those stalagmite and stalagtites

That's no Stalagmite. It's Chuck Norris's cock :P
And a cave curtain and “soda straws” broke one at least that I saw. It’ll never grow back. Kinda sad really.
Um, those are dildos, silly.
A GPS would make it easier to document and return to interesting locations.
thats cheating
that's what i was thinking
Damn... How come nobody has thought of that before??? Oh boy you are a genius sir!!
You would be surprised how bad GPS reception is in the woods. Try it out. Most of the times it does not work.
WOW!!!, that cave looks Huge. ....Lots of Cave Carrots! Nice!

Did ya ever think that the ancestors may have plugged that hole up with rocks for a good reason? You're gonna disturb the troll.... and then he's gonna run rampant through the town kidnapping virgins and stealing all the gold.
Lol virgins they still exist ?
Well not now after the hole was opened up... :)

@@bretthall8115 made me giggle🤣

A bat, maybe?
it’s a fucking fish

I like the video I get excited anytime I see a new cave I'm not an explorer but it still excites me. I'm not really sure if it's a lot of room in there or if it's just the camera view but it looks spacious. If y'all actually go inside I hope you posted but be careful. We have a cave in my hometown that's up on the mountains in Georgia but I couldn't find any information if anyone's tried to explore it or if it doesn't really go deep enough so maybe it'll be one for you.
