Such a compassionate episode that so many of us need during these dark days. Another suggestion, resonating with some of your excellent advice, that I heard and am finding useful for trying to work despite all the surrounding chaos is to follow a set routine every morning and evening of very basic, simple, healthy habits (like drinking a glass of water, getting some outdoor morning sunlight, taking a few deep breaths, and the like). It doesn't matter so much what they are just so long as they are super easy to do; it is the fact of adhering to a structure within your immediate control that helps counteract the dread about the broader chaos. Thank you for all the thoughtfulness you put into your episodes! 🙏
I'm so glad you found it useful! I agree entirely about the morning routine - in fact, one of the reasons that I have never done an episode on this is it's one element of my life that I'm still very much working on! I think this is wise advice... I want to figure out how to follow it a little more consistently....
I don't have any recommendations specific to this, but more generally Kristen Neff's books on self-compassion are worth a look and tie in with this topic
