A bone fracture is a medical condition in which there is a partial or complete break in the continuity of the bone. In more severe cases, the bone may be broken into several pieces.[1] A bone fracture may be the result of high force impact or stress, or a minimal trauma injury as a result of certain medical conditions that weaken the bones, such as osteoporosis, osteopenia, bone cancer, or osteogenesis imperfecta, where the fracture is then properly termed a pathologic fracture.

I broke my arm once when I was skating I fell off and fell on my arm and the bone was sticking out, that was one of the worst pains in my life
@@haylogd8817 i cant imagine the pain that you felt. A bone that sticks out. I remember seeing my friend fall from the tree and the bone around hes elbow came out.
I fractured my finger in January, it healed. I just rebroke it a few days ago.

@@nilexx2379 well I didn’t go to the hospital (due to Covid) and it healed in about a month and 2 weeks but don’t listen to UA-cam comments, watch a few more UA-cam videos. I hope your finger gets better!

I think I’ve broke mine but I’m not sure, it’s blue and very bruised, and very swollen, curved, very very painful but I can almost make a fist but it’s very painful to do so... idk what to do

I broke my finger last year in early October and I couldn’t go to the doctor because I had colorguard competitions every weekend, so I let it heal on its own. It’s shaped funny now. And I’m pretty sure I either fractured or broke it again. It’s been numb for about 4 days

if there are any doctors/surgeons here i wanna explain my situation
when i was three years old, i smashed my middle finger with a weight and my bone fractured into many many pieces. i don’t remember much since i was at such a young age, but my finger is deformed from it. my nail was shoved inwards and to the side, making one side ingrown (it doesn’t hurt), there seems to be some weird cartilage lines on the top of my finger, and most importantly, i cant bend the joint above my fingernail. i am thirteen years old, and i want to play guitar, but my half-disabled finger prevents me from properly reaching frets to do chords and such. i have been thinking about getting surgery to fix it, so i ask, would it be possible to fix? and how would it be fixed? i know id definitely need to do physical therapy. how long would the healing process be?

My grandfather broke one of his fingers so badly it had to be amputated at the second joint due to lack of blood flow to the finger tip. A nasty injury but it healed surprisingly fast considering it was crushed in a machine.
I'm after having something very similar but hopefully lucky enough to keep the tip. My tip got crushed in work, fractured into 3 pieces. It got crushed so bad the tip was flat as a pancake. Don't ask how but looking like a full recovery. Week 2 now and healing ok it seems. My finger burst at the top so infection is the main avoidance at the moment.

@@hernandomendoza4666 No, i was lucky enough to avoid it. However, looking back now, it would have been a bettet option. My finger is still really sensitive and i don't have full use or feeling back yet. It happened 5 months ago now

Someone kicked my finger inward during school it, swelled up right away and it couldn’t move for like a week, I didn’t go to the doctor because the school nurse apparently said it was fine, this was 2 months ago and it’s still hurts a little now, I’m not sure if it was dislocated or fractured but I can close my hand in a fist and I think it’s cause I’ve taught my finger how to close again forcefully

Good day sir, I have similar challenge i accidentally cut off my right hand fingers while working in my workshop and it affected my 4 fingers it's been 2weeks ago they took off the k-wiring that stayed up to one month and 3 days and due how stiff my palm and finger was after taking of the cast i was advised to start physiotherapy at ones but i didn't because 2 of my fingers are still bleeding and painful and i can't move them 10 of August will make it 2 months. My advice in the uk from the nurse was remove buddy taped finger after 7 days.... And start streching and open and closed so to get hand strengthened. Here it says keep splinted for 4 weeks. Im confused with alot of varied advice...

I was playing basketball yesterday and the ball hit straight into my pointer finger really hard. It got really swollen, grew twice its regular size, turned a bright purple, and started hurting like shit. I could barely even move it and when I tried to, it'd hurt like crazy. So I went to the hospital and they told me that I had a small fracture and that I might have to get surgery.
Update: It ended up being fine, no surgery. They just put gauze and tape on my finger, told me that I wasn't allowed to play any sports for a certain period of time, and it ended up going back to normal after less than two weeks.
That happened to me 2 weeks ago but my docter said I have a small fracture and I just have to we’re something on my finger

How do I know if it's broke or jammed. It isn't super painful but I can hardly bend it and it's still swollen a day after.
@@k0alaa it was jammed really bad, I got an X-ray on it and there was nothing wrong so they splinted it because I couldn't move it, it felt like it was breaking everytime it bent. I had to wear a splint for about 3ish weeks, then it wasn't painful there just wasn't as much mobility in that finger for a few months, like it I grabbed something that finger wouldn't bend down. But now it's back to normal.
Edit: if you KNOW it's not broken you can just splint it yourself and save money on an unessesary hospital trip, if it's just jammed literally all they can do for you is splint it. But you can buy your own splint for less than $5 at Walmart or something. I think even if it's broke all they can do is splint it too, but Idk.
@@k0alaa mine was swollen and slightly bruised. I'd splint it even if you don't decide to go to the hospital just so you don't keep bumping it on things. It's really up to you if you think you need to go, I'm not sure how dangerous an untreated broken finger can be but I think all they really can do is splint it either way, I may be wrong though.

Was in weight lifting class, and today, I accidentally hit a joint of my finger so dang hard, and it hurt! I mean it hurt! I think it's sprained, cause it hurts to put little pressure on it. Ice packs helped a bit.
