Hi guys. Just a correction. I wasn’t kicked out of Reform, I decided several years ago that I would not stand for Reform again. They had no candidate until the Tory candidate defected to them a few weeks before the nominations closed. I announced I was standing as an independent 15 months ago. 👍👍

Nick, get your people into the lifeboats. The territory is lost.
America and Australia are the lifeboats. Form enclaves. Become a diaspora. Your grandchildren can take it all back; but you can't. All you can do is build the foundation that whatever comes next has the chance of being built upon.
Hand down your armor and your swords to those who may have a chance to use it.
I am the son of an Englishman. I love England in a way that only an expat can ever do. I have perspective that you can never have. Your job is to keep the embers alive. One day they'll light a fire.

The one scenario where it could be quite disastrous is if Labour’s majority is absolute , I.e. 450 seats or more. They know every single adult in the country will be voting so if they do anything too crazy or against the majority's wishes they'll be slammed come election time. Our conservative party is still largely conservative because of this. And our Labor party can't get away with too much commie sh- because the backlash will immediately take them out. So here in Canada, we're a little bit further along this curve than you guys. Trudeau has been in office for 9 years now, and we've had 3 Conservative party leaders lose election to him in that time. Stephen Harper, the former Prime Minister and incumbent who lost to Trudeau in 2015. Followed by Andrew Scheer and Erin O'Toole who led the Conservative party (and lost to Trudeau) in the following two elections. It's widely accepted among Conservatives that Scheer and O'Toole probably lost because they tried to court the centre while abandoning their Conservative base. They did things like grovel any time the left accused them or racism, sexism, whateverism, banishing party members who did or said anything remotely "right-wing" and generally trying to "out-woke" the Liberal party, hoping it would win them the centrist swing-vote.
This obviously killed any enthusiasm among their base and worse, they now had this fledgling "People's Party" on their right flank acting as a pressure release valve for Conservative voters who felt the Conservative party was no longer right-wing enough for them. And in the last election, the Conservatives hemorrhaged enough support to that People's Party to cost them the election. The people's Party didn't win a single seat (and never will). They just spoiled enough seats for the Conservative party to hand Trudeau re-election.
But now we've got this guy Pierre Poilievre leading the Conservative party and this guy is unapologetically right wing. He's openly insolent towards the media, he never apologizes for anything and he never backs down. And this guy is blowing the other parties out of the water in the polls. The pollsters are projecting a >99% chance he'll win a majority in next year's election.
What he's doing differently than both his predecessors and the UK's "Conservative" party is that he's standing his ground and not being bullied into submission by the woke establishment. On the contrary, he was just endorsed by Alex Jones, was attacked for it by the media, had Trudeau demand in the house of commons that he disavow Alex jones. And Poilievre, instead of groveling like his predecessors would have, just laughed it off. Attacks of these sorts keep coming at him and not only do they not hurt his polling numbers, they're consistently BOOSTING his numbers because they're opportunities for him to tell the woke establishment to go f**k themselves. And people love that. It projects strength.
Strength is the most attractive quality you can look for in a political leader. Nobody votes for weakness. There's a lesson for the UK's Conservative party unfolding in Canada right now before their very eyes. They need to stop groveling to the wok mob and start telling them to go f**k themselves. Look at Canada's example. Doing so inspires and galvanizes your base.

As an ex-brit in exile here, be careful of idolizing a smart talking leader and always look at the fine print, this goes for PP and Reform too...

@@jonathanhole8240 Ok no offense, but you're not in a position to call voters "ignorant" for not voting for your party, while in the same breath confessing that you haven't even read the party platforms.
You're just calling the LPC and CPC "identical" because you're a single issue (immigration) voter and the CPC wouldn't commit to ending mass immigration like the PPC does.
Equally ignorant is thinking you could end mass immigration even if you wanted to without totally collapsing the economy overnight. Read up on how the pension system works. It's a pyramid scheme. The second population growth halts, the entire pension system, followed by the entire economy, collapses like a house of cards. What measures did Bernier promise you to avert this collapse when he cut mass immigration in half?
That's right. None at all. Do you suppose that's because he, like you, doesn't understand immigration as an economic issue? Or is it because in promising to end mass immigration, he knows he's making empty promises he'll never have to keep (because he'll never get elected), and he's only saying these things to keep people like you mailing those sweet donation cheques in?

If you cannot hold your representatives to their election aims/promises, then voting is essentially pointless.
Instead we should start non-profits and for profit companies that further our political goals.

In my area it was a 23% turnout. We had Labour and greens running trans women (neither looked like women whatsoever). Tories, Lib dems didn't even bother posting leaflets. Reformuk didn't run and the socialists workers party was basically two people sat with a wallpapering table in front of them, sat alone near Aldis. I'd love to get the 23% in a room and ask them why even bother with the rubbish on offer.
Personally I think we need a Labour government and have that 'Canada' style wokeness to finally get the public off their backsides and motivated politically. Seriously I would happily fund a ground roots working class right wing party if it was organised and got onto the streets of working class areas. Reformuk isn't it, it's full of tory and Labour rejects.

This is our own fault, we need to mobilise and encourage each other to vote and talk about this despite how boring it may be.
My friend and I used to argue about politics until one day recently I called him out for complaining but never doing anything about it. Not campaigning, going door to door n drumming up support for his beliefs and we came to the conclusion we're going to do it ourselves.
We've started planning solutions, how to build a community, how to get people on side, writing policies, speeches and honestly I've never felt more hopeful for the future.
It may take us a few years since we're working this out whilst working our regular jobs but every great journey starts with a single step n all that.
We can make a difference, we can be the change and you can too.
