I had a 2017 Samsung Stylus for 5 years, never dropped it or damaged it. Virgin Mobile closed and Boost took over, and are taking down the 3g towers. I got this phone in Walmart for 150. I like it. For a long time i spent lots of money on phones. This time around I went for this. This does everything I need that other phones that cost 500+ does. I'm very happy with it.
I've had this phone for almost a year now and love it. Problem I have is when scrolling up or down through an app or a website gives me problems instead of going up and down it goes side to side left and right very aggravating.
Same here! For free this stuff gets all the basic needs met! Plus a little bonus. Like the feature for the finger scanner, the pen, the gestures, the big screen. Pretty dope.

My network carrier is dropping their 3g network in feb 2022. I have 2 phones i use, my mom’s is on 3g. My iPhone 12 Pro Max is my main one, but my 2nd is a huawei p10 plus. Since my huawei doesn’t have hd voice, my carrier will no longer work with it after feb 2022 and it will become a WiFi device only. They’re sending me a free replacement phone but what they’re sending me blows compared to my p10 plus spec wise. My p10 plus has 6gb ram, what they’re sending me has 1gb of ram. So not happy bout that but it’s free and I’ll just sell it anyways. However, i don’t just want a WiFi only device, so i started looking at worthy replacements that won’t break my bank as i am still paying on my 12 pro max and I’m not trying to pay for another phone that i very rarely use. Out of my choices spec wise to match my p10 plus, the moto g stylus 5g is what i am really leaning towards b/c it’s only $249.99 and $5/mo if i am paying monthly. There are some specs that will be an upgrade from my huawei and some that aren’t but i feel it seems like the best replacement for a phone i don’t use much without breaking the bank. The downside for me would be the ram since it’s got 4gb but they seem to make a variant w/ 6gb so idk i have to research that more. The other downside is i am wondering if it is fast charging. I am reading it takes 2hrs to have a full battery which doesn’t seem bad to me. I’ve looked at the following to compare/consider: Samsung A32 Samsung S20FE - not wanting to pay the price tag on this though, but i do like the specs, but again I’m not using my 2nd phone that much so that stops me from jumping into this. Samsung A52 5g - a lil cheaper than the FE but same reason as above for not jumping into it. LG Velvet 5G - was seriously considering this until i saw it’s benchmarks. I was also considering the google pixel 5g (4a/5) but i know i am not going to want to pay on two phones when i rarely use the 2nd one so I’m prob gonna get the moto g stylus. I like that it was released in 2021 and the others were mostly from 2020. There was something i looked at that was from 2019, so that makes me think about the OS upgrades etc. rather go with newer released phone. The p10 plus i think i have was released in 2017.
Also, this version Moto downgraded to a single speaker at bottom of the phone whereas previous versions had dual speakers, the second speaker thru the earpiece. Moto has always emphasized good sounds on their phones. Don't know what gives with only one speaker on this latest version ?
I should have done more research.. it really sucks. It's not loud . To many bugs.. I wrote my comment above. Easier one of the one of the phones I ever own. Yes I did all the upgrades.. same bs
The 10W power recharge isn't really that big an issue. It took me 2 full days of moderate use to get the phone down to 12% (about 9 PM the second day) - I started the stopwatch and plugged it in. It took 2.5 hours to fully charge it - essentially 1 hr per day of use. Since most of us sleep longer than 2.5 hours, plug it in when you go to bed and it will be charged when you get up. With the battery charge lasting as long as it does it's really not an issue. The worst I ever did was after using it fairly heavy one day I used it for a TEAMS meeting that lasted over 2.5 hours - when I got off of the meeting it just dipped below 20% - none of my previous phones could've come even remotely close to handling this type of usage.
Bro, 2 1/2 hours waiting for a charge is a LONG TIME ! Most ppl will not wait that long. Moto needs to get their act together for the next version. Also, they need to put that second speaker back. This one was downgraded to only a single speaker at the bottom.

I added a larger capacity SD card, formatted as external, but can't figure out how it works :( I still keep running out of space on the 32G even with the added SD card, so what good did that do to buy it? I can usually pretty much figure things out, especially after "googling" it. But stuck on this issue.

I bought this phone. The whole point of buying a phone with a stylus is to be able to use the stylus. There is an issue with the stylus and note taking. When I pull out the stylus, the "quick" note window pops up. If I write a note and tap on the checkmark, it will say "Note Saved". Then when I go to my notes there is nothing there. Basically, note taking doesn't function correctly and being able to take a quick note at will without having to navigate is probably the most important thing on a stylus phone.
I bought camera protector with screen protector from Amazon and the guy gave me free case protector my friend drop my phone by accident but it only hit the side of the pen side I hate the case a little because it needs a bit more protection on the pen side it just got bit scratched feels rought not big deal but was my friend who drop it I kind was pissed barely got it new that same day she already drop my phone good thing it came with the case but has protection so In case it broke or stops working I can get a replacement.
Make sure for any phone don't buy slim cases bad choice is better to buy a thicker Case that protects the screen so is a bit raise few mm also find something that also protect the cameras i bought Amazon it came together 2 Camera and 2 Screen protectors but also get insurance is like 2 dollars a month in metro just pay $50 to get replaced.
My problems with this phone are that the camera doesn't have a stable and smooth 60fps video recording, along with a clunky and confusing menu to select frame rate options and more, making the camera look like 30-40 fps even with a lot of the camera settings disabled to improve frame rate, and video playback isn't perfect, even at 720p, on UA-cam and TV apps (haven't tested out video streaming apps atm).
How can I add another home screen to my moto 5g stylus 5G phone so I will only see my my wallpaper picture? Then I want to be able to swipe left or right to find the apps I have loaded? I'm 60 years old and not phone savvy enough to figure that issue out.
Watching this video again I found out that it doesn't have gorilla glass screen that is disappointing. I don't understand why they chose to not include this feature as it cost so little. Also Motorola doesn't allow transfer of apps to the SD card or the option to format the SD card as internal storage. Other than those 2 things it is a great device.
To anyone that has this Moto G Stylus 5G, is it better than the original Umidigi Power phone? (Some of the Umidigi Power specs are a MediaTek Helio P35 Ai processor, a 6.3 FHD display with 2340×1080 resolution, 4GB ram and 64GB Rom).
I have this Moto G Stylus 5G but the only things I sorta dislike it, the battery life only lasts 2 days unless if u keep using it,& the other is when u download music it's a bit of a hassle to Move the song to ur Sd card
Why don't you use Spotify instead. It's free and it leaves all your like music aslong as you click the love button it saves it to your like songs and for ringtone you can use Zedge
Can you tell me how to block numbers on this phone? I've been added to a conversation and I don't know who they are. And to top it off. There are replies to the Convo showing they are coming from my number. Please help. Thank you!!
The only problem I have that's preventing me from buying this phone, is the fact that it only has one speaker. Dual firing speakers is important especially since Motorola advertises their exemplary audio.
But why? I see a lot of people bringing this up and I don’t understand. Is listening to music played directly off your phone that important? Is it even enjoyable? Is it so important to have two built in speakers that a separate Bluetooth speaker, which would be much louder while offering much better audio quality in addition to being inexpensive, is out of the question? I don’t mean to go so hard on you specifically . You just happened to be the 5th or 6th person I’ve seen in the last 15 minutes that has brought up the speaker on this phone. In my decade of buying smartphones, not once have I even so much as thought about the phones speakers. But I guess it’s a potential dealbreaker for some people? Crazy how different people can be.
@@chadmulligan5629 I'm sure there is a significant difference, but the audio quality is still nowhere near what you would get using a bluetooth speaker instead, right? That's what I was getting at when I mentioned that I didn't understand how it could be a dealbreaker. Are you really not buying a certain phone that has everything you want except for dual speakers when that issue is so incredibly easy to work around
Can anyone that has this phone tell me if the processor in this phone causes apps to refresh when going from app to app? I had the OnePlus Nord n200 that has the same processor as this one and everytime you would go back to an app the processor would cause it to completely restart.

I'm always annoyed when "wireless" charging devices try to push the inconvenience of all the things plugged into an outlet. The thing still needs to be plugged in. I will say that on several older phones I had, the charging port was the first thing to go, so the idea that I don't wear it out was appealing. Didn't have the problem on more recent phones, however.
I just got this phone and so far I'm not excited. It seems slower than the moto G7 supra that I've been using for the last few years. Also whenever I connect to the Bluetooth in my truck whatever audio I'm listening to skips.
I currently use this phone now and it's a solid device but it depends on what you need in a phone . this device Definitely struggles with gaming Over time. It starts off great but over time high graphic games will crash and lag like crazy and the option to increase ram does nothing. I do a lot of emulating so a phone that can game is super important to me and this device lacks in that department so I wouldn't recommend this device if your a gamer. I also highly dislike the lack of customization this device has. Your stuck with 5 crappy fonts that all look similar and very limited color schemes to choose from. I've seen cheaper samsung phones for half the price of this offer more than that. But if that's not a concern and you just want a large screen size phone that can do the basics this is definitely a solid phone

Stephon does the stylus work well in the OneNote app?
I have turned the volume sliders all the way but my volume us so slow. I never had this problem with my Samsung. Do you know what to do?
does gorilla glass work with a styles?
My problems with this phone are that the camera doesn't have a stable and smooth 60fps video recording, along with a clunky and confusing menu to select frame rate options and more, making the camera look like 30-40 fps even with a lot of the camera settings disabled to improve frame rate, and video playback isn't perfect, even at 720p, on UA-cam and TV apps (haven't tested out video streaming apps atm).
Does this phone support millimeter wave?
People should stop comparing any phone to the LG Stylo.
LG is now DEAD as a phone company.
People need to move on.
Or.....or.....when a phone is almost like the Stylo you can compare it to it because you know.....they're almost the exact same.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
How can I add another home screen to my moto 5g stylus 5G phone so I will only see my my wallpaper picture? Then I want to be able to swipe left or right to find the apps I have loaded? I'm 60 years old and not phone savvy enough to figure that issue out.
Samsung A12 vs Moto G Stylus 5g 2021 what one is better
Watching this video again I found out that it doesn't have gorilla glass screen that is disappointing. I don't understand why they chose to not include this feature as it cost so little. Also Motorola doesn't allow transfer of apps to the SD card or the option to format the SD card as internal storage. Other than those 2 things it is a great device.
Just got mine from cricket for $150. I love this phone.
One from metro for only $20 plus one month service but no contract...so fill in the blanks with that process lol

What the charging speed ???
I think the digital stabilization is for hd and full HD at 30 fps only, not for the 60fps and 4k same with HDR
Thanks for the subtitles in Spanish bro!
How do u download music and where is the media on this phone where all the music go?
will be interested on your thoughts for the 2023 model
Does this device have built in screen cast🤔
Yes has screen cast
I just bought one the camera no good and the video is blurry when trying for close up up I'm taking it back
What about the camera?
I know it's a old video but the Tech-Gang goes hard on all videos.
Can you tell me how to block numbers on this phone? I've been added to a conversation and I don't know who they are. And to top it off. There are replies to the Convo showing they are coming from my number. Please help. Thank you!!
What your number?
Hopefully you can find it, I need to block some numbers too :)
2:14 Not anymore, I just got the android 12 update.
I just bought used one 60 buck what a win right and its like new
How about the speaker? Did Motorola put back the dual surround speakers?
Probably not!
@@graceonline320 😭
I read the speakers suck
No, only one spkr on the bottom.
@@realwiggles I recently upgraded to an a53 not knowing it has dual speakers and I noticed a significant difference.
Does it say "hello Moto"!
Haha when u boot it up. You can put any sound as your notification and there's lots on Zedge app too
Can anyone that has this phone tell me if the processor in this phone causes apps to refresh when going from app to app? I had the OnePlus Nord n200 that has the same processor as this one and everytime you would go back to an app the processor would cause it to completely restart.
What is nfc?

Crazy thing, bought one with a cracked screen for a dollar. (No stylus bad lcd)
Man I'm looking to buy this phone next month is it worth it to pay 400 even if it's cheaper at cricket etc
Pick one up today at cricket. What suck is I forgotten my password for Amazon
I absolutely never use the stylus on this phone or the lg stylus I used to have. They just happened to be the best phone available in the price range I wanted to be in. I would be curious how many people actually use it, and what for.
Glad I waited. Cuz I only paid 190 for mine. I also have my 128gb micro SD card in it
Can you store apps on your card? I can't put apps on my SD card like back in the day

Well I got mine from Cricket for a cheaper price than $400. But I was pretty bummed also about it not having wireless charging. I thought that would had been pretty awesome... My wife put me on her plan with Cricket. I love the Emerald color of the phone also on back cover...
The unlocked version was $500.00 at launch and had 6gb ROM 256gb storage. Locked version had a slimmer price and slimmer specs.
On my G7 with the case and screen protector. I thought I cracked my screen when I dropped my phone. I mean it looked pretty cracked. When I took off the screen protector there wasn't even a scratch.

Can you do a gaming review next time please like at 1am like you don't even have to edit the video just record it and upload it maybe
Motorola is getting really cheap. Their antennas has changed also. Customers are complaing about the signal since the orginal Moto stylist.
Agreed, ever since LG left Moto been slacking hard. Moto G Stylus 2020 was the last good Stylus imo.
I have absolutely zero issues with reception even out in the country. Mine is a TracFone model that has ran on both the T-Mobile and Verizon networks.

But does it have a headphone jack tho
Yes it does.

A gimmick

I'm always annoyed when "wireless" charging devices try to push the inconvenience of all the things plugged into an outlet. The thing still needs to be plugged in. I will say that on several older phones I had, the charging port was the first thing to go, so the idea that I don't wear it out was appealing. Didn't have the problem on more recent phones, however.
@@carlrood4457 my ports never wear out
All the wireless pads I've used including Fast Charging ones have been much slower than a fast charging box.
No NFC big con.
I just got this phone and so far I'm not excited. It seems slower than the moto G7 supra that I've been using for the last few years. Also whenever I connect to the Bluetooth in my truck whatever audio I'm listening to skips.

@@SliceySlicer yeah I'm positive I've
I currently use this phone now and it's a solid device but it depends on what you need in a phone
. this device Definitely struggles with gaming Over time.
They told me it charges to 15

The screen is strong drop that shit face planted like 30 times and still works like a champ I highly recommend
