    Another alternative would be Nature Cleric: you get spike growth, plant growth, insect plague, glyph of warding and the spirit guardians spell too.

    It's nice to have a video about classes synergy, not just a single character build. gj

    Additional, not as good but soooo funny way: tempest cleric. Pushes enemies when they get thunder or lightning damage. Have the cleric cast sleet storm and cause the ice to melt (fire bolt cantrip). If the cleric has the boots that cause water they stand in to electrify it and the ring that protects the cleric from electrocuting itself, all enemies in the water area get thrown around constantly :)

      Omg that's hilarious. I didn't realize that electrified surfaces trigger that ability! I feel like there might actually be a way to make that good... I'm going to have to play around with that.
      What direction do they get pushed? Away from the center of the surface, away from the cleric, or just like a random direction? lol.

      @@Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop it looked random, but i'm not sure. it was before patch 3 got released, but i have seen no notes so far saying they fixed it yet. might have to try it. it was a very hilarious event after turning the last light in hostile (2nd playthrough.)

      @@Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop now that i think about it, i haven't tried if you can combine it with reverberation items/effect. boots for electrifying the water, one ring to protect against getting electrocuted, so at least the gloves that cause reverberation when doing lightning damage might work if it triggers the tempest cleric effect too

    • @Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop
      @Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop  Рік тому

      @@thecursed01 Yeah that makes sense. If it works then that is a very solid area control combo-- reverberation has been fixed so now it has a chance to knock them prone. Prone plus knockback really makes it hard for them to reach you!
      I am absolutely going to try this. In tabletop the lightning push ability is solid but most of its best synergies just require too many levels in other classes. But electrified surfaces in this game open up a whole new direction to build around, because they are relatively easy to make.

      @@Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop reply when you tried. I was at first a bit fisappointed by those boots until i combined it wirh the ring that protects feom the electocution. So you can stand safely in the zone. One thing to remember (or rather confused me) the effect starts with the start of the boot wearer's turn. So the ice has to be melted to water by then. Easy to do though because many way to melt ice.
      P.s. and subbed.

    Archfey Warlocks get Plant Growth AND Eldritch/Repelling Blast in one package!

    I took some of the relevant spells as a lore Bard. Double charisma based casters wasn't optimal maybe, but I had fun

    This is sort of how I killed the Gnoll boss (Flind?) in act1. You can sneak up behind them on the rock, drop a hunger of hadar on the steps, and throw a few grease bottles with the other characters, they'll slip, have to spend half their movements to get up and are slowed. if they get too close just knock with eldritch blast. Didn't take a single point of damage. don't try this against the gith however. it's also good at the end of act 2 combined with ice storm or sleet storm to make them slip. I wonder if the +1 ice dmg staff worth wearing as the lock for this setup.

      Very nice. Those are the sort of tactics that are why I love control strategies so much-they turn every fight into a little tactical puzzle. But yeah the gith are generally hard to CC with difficult terrain or persistent area effects. Misty stepping bastards

      @@Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop i've been testing various gear that you can get up to act 2 but unfortunately nothing works to buff hunger of hadar. the cold mechanic items like the staff that adds extra cold dmg and has a chance to proc chilled doesn't work, the ring that creates a pool of ice under the target doesn't work (would be insane synergy) the "encrusted with frost" effect items don't proc either so there is no chance to freeze them inside HoH.
      there are 3 items with acid properties, the ring that procs acid dmg on weapon attack, gloves that create an acid cloud on a target when they take acid dmg, and the cloak that rolls acid dmg when the wearer takes a hit. all 3 of the acid items work off of each other, but not with HoH, and if you proc it off the ring as a melee, you will take dmg from the acid cloud the gloves create. adding the acid resistance boots works, but i dont think the synergies are worth it, maybe for rangers/ranged fightters who can get more attacks out per turn, to spread the cloud effect while not standing in it.

    Nice strategy . I'm tired about too many barrels or cheating mechanism videos on yt already.

    Shadowheart being a Ranger can make use of Spike Growth as well (which I might add feels like an acceptable lore multiclass too). This also capitalizes on Wisdom being the spellcasting stat of choice for Clerics as well as Rangers

    • @Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop
      @Build-a-Barbarian-Workshop  Рік тому

      Very true-- but also don't forget about Nature domain! If you still want her to be a cleric that'd be one way to get her access to both Spike Growth and Plant Growth.
