I’ve tried 3/5 of these and if your budget allows, K18 all the way! A close second was living proof, which is also the easiest and simplest to use. Olaplex did nothing special, slight improvement over several months, but nothing wow. That’s my two cents, good luck ❤
@@elizabethkennedy4427 living proof is SO good. I have no idea how it does what it does. I will use it forever. Oddly enough the living proof extension in the video looks the worst, so it will be interesting to see what part 2 says.
@@xoxorosequartz that’s so crazy to me how our hair can all be made of the same thing and yet we all have such different reactions to the same product. Hope you find one that works better 😢
This is not really proper science since the hairs are not all starting from the same level of damage. You can see from the start that some are more damaged than others, but you wouldn't be able to quantify how much that is. This is nice, but not a proper experiment as the results will be affected by how the hair was at the start.
@@daisyo.6666 The results could be affected by numerous variables. No one said it was a perfectly controlled experiment. I’d still prefer this comparison to any other video with a girlie saying “I’m obsessed” over a montage of selfies.
@@arielts06 definitely true. But I'm not really sure if we'll learn much from this experiment. I guess the best approach is to compare the before and after, instead of comparing against other hairs.
I think this is a nice test and all, but you have no way of saying which one works better because they are starting at different levels, it is clear that some hairs are more damaged than others. To be a good test, they should all start at the same level of damage.
I’m sure she’s using the extensions from the same head, package.. meaning they were all damaged, washed. And styled all Al the same time from a client or her head!
@@themotherspassport4458What do you mean "same head"? She said "human hair extensions", which means they are made to be used with human hair-not that they came from a human. Your comment is precisely why controls are needed, as the majority of people on the Internet haven't gotten a clue. Finally, when conducting a scientific test, there are certain steps that MUST be taken, regardless of what you think she did or didn't do.
Olaplex, K18 and Redken look the best after but that might also have to do with their extensions being thicker. I really want to know how each of them felt and a stress test before and after as someone else suggested. Going to check if part 2 is up.
I would just buy the cheapest one bc they are all the same and redken is definitely the most affordable, also by considering the amount of product, then followed by olaplex and lastly k18 is just way more expensive
Really excited for part 2!! Imo I can see some small differences in how smooth the ends lay and the amount of frizz/flyaways but to see for sure I agree we need the microscope !!
I tried all of these and since I have virgin hair that's pretty healthy they all worked equally well. I use l'oreal everpure bond strengthening concentrate and I feel it's just a good as redken. I wish you'd tested it too. Anyhow, my bet for part 2 is that k18 is marginally better than all the other ones
The entire point of these products is that they repair damage. Since you have healthy hair, you cannot appreciate how they work on damaged hair. So your conclusion on how they work only applies to you. It’s not that they ‘all worked well’ for you, it’s that they didn’t need to work. So you don’t actually know how they work.
The L’Oréal one isn’t a real bond repair that’s why it’s pointless to test it. You can just use regular products anyway though since your hair isn’t damaged.
@@missNCW citric acid does actually repair bomds. You don't need to use proprietary peptides etc to do that. K18 and Olaplex do work but they are not the only thing that works.
This is extension hair so it is possible the cuticle is stripped and these products won’t have much effect on cuticle stripped hair. For extensions we usually recommend hydrating hair masques with a bit of silicone in. Products with Protein are also not recommended on extension hair as it will make them dry and brittle. The best test would be on someones actual real hair.
Is the sample extentions all the same source? . I feel like some of them look thinner/ worse beforehand --- but need that microscope to be sure lol.. Love your work!
Turns out the cuticle was completely stripped on all this hair - it was too fried. None of the bond products did anything... Just a good wash and brush made it look straighter... She literally concludes this in the full video... How about do the same thing on hair that's not stripped and just slightly damaged?
Studies were done an move hairdresser picked Redkn. I am currently using olaplex 3 and this will be my second time. Does feel slight better but takes time. Will be switching to Redkin when I am done with Olaplex 3. They suggest that you only need the treatment and not all the other stuff they are selling you.
Redken saved my hair when it was seriously bleach damaged!! I swear by it but also k18, however redken is a lot more affordable when you are having to use the product over 4/6 months as that’s how long I had to wait before I could have anything done to my hair again (yes I messed it up that bad) 😅
Hey @abbey! What do you think of Aveda products? Specifically their damage remedy leave-in and the sap moss line? Thank you for your videos!!! My hair is finally getting healthy.
I had bleached hair, ans I tried olaplex's products, but they were not that great. If you go to a salon, they use the stronger concentrated solution. But even then ut feels like it washes out. K18 was amazing. Even though you're supposed to skip conditioner and then apply the mask as a leave in (you can still use leave in conditioner afterwaeds), it untangled my hair so well. Brushing with just olaplex = eh, but brushing with k18 = so smooth. I feel like the whole olaplex line (not including the salon grade concentrated solution) is a cash grab bc each item is $28. K18 is pricey but it works and after 3 consecutive washes with it, you only use it after every 3 washes.
The level of commitment for this is next level and I love it
