Thanks from NZ. Do you ever experience any snipe on the start and finish of the workpiece? Also have you considered installing a larger motor for your belt drive? Chinese motors and VFDs are cheap and easy to setup. Oh, also, you must have a huge supply to run that larger motor on 220v. We have 230v and 415v 3phase in NZ. I blew a pole fuse here with just a 5hp motor here.
Yes I did experience divots if the work piece was shaky going through. And sometimes the conveyor would not be strong enough and cause a divot. I had mine running on 6awg wire on 220v. Never had any issues.
Can you put a reverse control unit on it? I hav a Woodmaster 25” planer that converts to a drum sander and I bought the reverse option. Well worth it. ‘
Hi again. Mind if I ask another question? Would you use the drum sander to finish off a window sash or door to take 0.2mm off each side? Ive been told by a supplier it may not work with an assembled window sash, with a hole in the middle, two pieces connected will pull through unevenly. Gee its never easy huh ha
@@manskavewoodworking8616 Thanks for the reply...definitely a jump but I am trying to talk myself out of a wide belt sander (what I would really like to have but $$$ and would have to upgrade my dust collection) so a double drum might be a good middle ground for me.
How thick of passes can you take without it bogging down? Also, does having an infeed and out feed table help with bogging down and uneven sanding of the machine?

I’m not sure. As long as it’s a solid made piece, I would think it would work.

Completely understand that…I am also torn on the price if I go with the double.
The double drum is 3-4k more per their website - that price jump is crazy

It depends on how big of a piece. When maxing out capacity it’s a very light pass
