This is the most honest and humble review out there. It's almost like a group of friends really discussing about these gorgeous bikes without any sponsors or whatsoever. I'd like to see more of this warm and honest reviews from you guys, keep up the good work :)
Got the same GSX-R750 a few weeks ago( in black) ..love it to bits.. As said before soooo many times, its all the bike you'll ever need, for the road at least...no, the front headlights aren't the best design(they do grow on you) but it's a small niggle in an otherwise awesome package. . .25years of evolution and still going as strong as ever. .
750 is an absolute weapon once suspension is dialled in with a great set of rubber too think of the best 600 you've ever ridden and then add some extra power and a big wheelie grin factor that is where the 750 lies i did 78000 kms on mine and it still went very hard! around a track it definitely seemed easier to maneuver than on my current gsxr 1000 k9 which is a smashing bike indeed
So, the gixxer has soooo much more top speed than the other two that I wonder if you couldn't change the gearing, drop 5% off the top speed, pick up acceleration out of the corners and end up performing 2nd in the top speed and 2nd on the track, buy an aftermarket quickshifter and exhaust, (give it more soul and sound) and still have 2k left over.
I have to agree with you. Riding a motorcycle is something I do more with the heart than with the brain. I am a very rational humanbeing, however, riding a motorcycle has to be excitement and joy above all else. I own a Ducati 848 and after a couple of years of riding it, it still puts a smile on my face every time I see her, hear her and take her for a spin. Even if it's just for a commute to my job. =)
I owed the GSXR 750 and Ducati 848 Evo at the same time. The GSXR felt like smushed grapes compared to the Ducati, BUT it was easy and comfortable commuting and uninspired. I sold it and got an F3 675 and rode back to back against the 848 for a year. In ALL situations the F3 was better. More comfortable (as comy as the GSXR), easier street handling, more predictable to ride on street and track. I took 5 sec off my best lap time on the 848 with the F3 the first time. The F3 wins out hands down.
It surpised us just as much and it's true, GPS speed. We've tested 750s before and they;ve done up to 175mph. But at Nardo, the bike has a massive eight miles to get up to speed and the Suzuki is very long-geared. So, if you hold it flat-out for long enough, it'll do 181mph. Obvioulsy. it wouldn't get near that at a normal test track. Cheers. Neevesy MCN.
As a L6 GSXR 750 owner, I can tell you that it one the most under rated bike out there. Yes, not the best looking and no electronic goodies but it does everything else so bloody well. Braking, steering, cornering, gearbox ,suspension. You become one with this bike and value for money.
No worries. Despite what all the cynical people think, all our tests are done as thoroughly and honestly as we can. And don't forget, the full test are always in MCN - the videos are just a free little add-on, made when we're on the road, by ourselves with limited resources. Neevesy MCN.
I'm a devout VFR800 owner, but it's a 10 year old bike now, and outclassed by this crowd in almost every category except comfort and touring capability.
Had 675 Brutale have to say throttle was not the best have now bought 2015 F3 800 and have to say it is spot on no problems in town and out on the open road has just the right amount power and engine note to die for . I think MCN need to revisit this test I'm sure there would be a different winner ????
Peter Morris i have test ride an f3 675 a week ago, and i have to agree with you, the bike just feels amazing (it had the optional ohlins fork and rear shock) even better than the daytona 675R or any other 600 i've ridden
In reality the GSXR is available for much less than the RRP whereas the others command prices nearer to their RRP. Brand new GSXR's available for just under 8K. So the best value for money by far.
You've been watching too much X-Files! There's no conspiracy here. It's a standard GSX-R750, we strapped a GPS logger on to it, rode it flat-out for eight miles and it did 181mph. Simple as! I don't think any UK mag has ever tested at Nardo before, which is why you'd have never seen that kind of top speed. At our normal two-mile test track in the UK, the 750 does between 170-175mph, depending on which way the wind is blowing. Neevesy MCN
I have the GSXR 750 but I want that MV Agusta to park where my TV is and just use it as a piece of art ! would rather stare at that bike then watch TV anyday
Italian bikes have always been a thing of beauty but you cant live with them on a day to day basis, the Japanese have had that figured out for years. my money would go on the gsxr then spend the extra on a few bits to make it quicker than the other 2 round the track
nice test. still need to master the sound or buy a fury mic to pass around. don't underestimate the ambient noise near motorways etc. looking forward to the next one though.
Jeez so many people arguing the toss about top speed, if it did it, it did it, why would they need to lie ?? Neevsy I don't know why you bother replying to some of these posts? Good review I enjoyed it
I went and saw the MV and I couldnt see a passenger seat? I have a GSXR and love my 750... girls always want to go for a ride and I have that option with mine. over 12,000 rpm and they say it feels like a vibrator! nothing wrong with that!
i hope the mv updates the f3s for 2014 with new fueling software i mean they are really small company getting everything right for the 1st time is impossibille for them still i love it to and i would get an mv
i currently ride a F3 800, its awesome in every category. previously owned a gsxr600, great easy soft ride. ducati "a really soft ride" hmmm, No! The evo is the most uncomfortable bike of the lot
For the price difference between the GSX-R and the Duck you could get Bazzaz fi/tc/qs plus full suspension from race tech, wonder how this comparison would go then.... Hmmmm......
I think we all missed the Ducati was a corse edition so had upgrades already and still lost to the GSXR. so even the price out and that GSXR would be something else ! plus most of the complaints can be fixed with the adjustable shocks and fuel mapping. that said once that F3 is dialed in right it will be good night for the Ducati and perhaps the GSXR too
gixxer is the underdog of the three, less displacement , less pricy. but overall gixxer rules, if only the gixxer has the same displacement he will smoke the other bikes
it was the fastest at 181mph, thats only like 4mph slower then liter bikes and the F3 only did 167 however I still want one ! already have the GSXR 750 =]
I think they nailed it when mentioning the sticker price of the GSX-R750. I agree, compared to the Ducati and MV the GSX-R is bland by comparison, but it is the whole package AND you save at minimum compared to the other 2 3k which is a lot of play money to fix the things you hate.
I cant even hear what the commentator is saying at 3:00, im too busy being weirded out by his brother eating and blankly staring at the camera hahahahaha.
Point taken. I guess the latest tweeks and more slippery bodywork make all the difference. Still looks rather dull though next to the Italians.I think it would have been a good idea to have thrown in the new Triumph Daytona 675R since this bike is known to punch well above its weight. And now we have the new 899 Panigale coming soon so I forsee a giant mega test of all the above in the not to distant future.I can't wait.
The gsxr 750 I can would be the winner here cause its the best bang for the buck.BUT my choice is the 848,because i own one ,other then the steering I have no complaints.
That "gang" intro @0:13 lets me know Im about to see a good "supersport" shootout! Lets go! (my money is on the GSX-R750. Will I guess the performance winer...)
The blow buy there talking about is the crank case building to much pressure for the release system to handle so the excess has to go somewhere back through the intake via relief hosing. Japanese bikes might lack class but you will never have to tow them home.
If the 848 was not the corse it would not be £3000 more expensive. £10.5 last time I looked. Nice leathers Chad mine arrived last week . I hope you enjoyed your kippers in Peel.
I'd stick to my Daytona 675 over the Gixxer but i miss my old 848 i loved that bike so much the 675 is an amazing bike it's just so different from the 848 1,200 miles an i'm still not used to it but i had the 848 for 4 years so i won't give up on it yet. The gixxer is using the same paint scheme it's used since the 90's.
Hi neevesy. The Gixxer hitting 181 sounds a little suspect to me. In all previous tests the Suzi got nowhere near this and was found lacking grunt compared to the 848.[Indeed you yourself prefered the Duke in a comparison test a couple of years ago.] This latest version is only slightly refined over previous models with no jumps in horsepower to speak of, yet suddenly it feels the most powerful, mmmmmm. Is it possible the Suzy had been tweeked in some way without you guys knowing.
At any given time of year, i would have no problem finding at least 5 excellent condition gsxr 750's for 3-6k off the new price. Good luck finding either of these other bikes for even close to that price, if at all, except spanking new at a dealership. Take into account the thousands of GSXR's on the road right now, making parts and overall cost of ownership orders of magnitude lower than these other two. For the vast majority of real world, money spending riders, the GSXR is the clear winner.
I think I like the bike that doesn't pop out of gear. I had a 1970 750 Honda that would do that, in 2nd I think, that was 42 years ago so....not sure, might have been 1st but pretty sure 2nd.
ps - 848 was by far the least comfortable. one of the canyon roads we ride is 1hr drive to get to and I stopped going - by the time I got there my wrists were in agony. This is 100x better on the F3. HOW they got "comfort and ease" in street riding for the 848 is beyond me. It's a beast at best on the road. Unwieldy, cranky and unpredictable at anything under 6000rpm. By far the worst street bike I've ever ridden but the 2nd best track bike (after the F3). I guess that's opinions for you...
they can't keep 848 in the stores, i think 849 or 800 would be holy grail with power, i owned 1000rr and that thing had so much power i never could use all of it honestly neve could do top top of it, infact it felt like i was in fast forward in high high hp rang, the under neath hp rand was 140 and i could use that and it still was very fast.

Shame as it is SO close to perfect - it kinda needs someone to grab hold and do the things that a tiny company will always struggle to achieve - Mercedes Benz maybe? OR, like Triumph, get rid completely and get one excellent setting.

848 Is lovely. Good videos lads.
can't beat that gixxer with a stick, *2013 gsxr 750 owner here*
I'm a devout VFR800 owner, but it's a 10 year old bike now, and outclassed by this crowd in almost every category except comfort and touring capability.

The gsxr750....the 1st real "R" model sportbike....& the last "R" model sportbike you'll ever need.
Thumbs up always. You guys ALWAYS give the best reviews
Thanks guys. Tomorrow I gonna buy GSXR and I wasn't
sure it's good choice. But now I know :)
I have the GSXR 750 but I want that MV Agusta to park where my TV is and just use it as a piece of art ! would rather stare at that bike then watch TV anyday
Kevin Tunaley its a very nice looking bike
You can get MCN on iPad and Android now...Neevesy MCN
Italian bikes have always been a thing of beauty but you cant live with them on a day to day basis, the Japanese have had that figured out for years. my money would go on the gsxr then spend the extra on a few bits to make it quicker than the other 2 round the track
Practicality, reliability aside, I'd choose the MV
ducati, because of the looks the sound and the desmo system... love it
Nice video and it was a predictable result. Yet I would pick that gorgeous F3.
Thks for the review and keep the videos coming.
Cheers
The GSXR like pretty much all Japanese sport bikes comes geared very tall. Drop a cog up front and I bet it'll be on top at the track too
Great comparison, I love all the dialog. Thank you from California!
nice test. still need to master the sound or buy a fury mic to pass around. don't underestimate the ambient noise near motorways etc. looking forward to the next one though.
I enjoyed watching that guy eat in the middle of the screen while the Short Track results were reviewed.
Jeez so many people arguing the toss about top speed, if it did it, it did it, why would they need to lie ?? Neevsy I don't know why you bother replying to some of these posts? Good review I enjoyed it

Time to bring the 899 Panagale to the mix!
i hope the mv updates the f3s for 2014 with new fueling software
i mean they are really small company getting everything right for the 1st time is impossibille for them
still i love it to and i would get an mv
Would have nice if they included the new Daytona 675R as well.
i currently ride a F3 800, its awesome in every category. previously owned a gsxr600, great easy soft ride. ducati "a really soft ride" hmmm, No! The evo is the most uncomfortable bike of the lot
Great job guys, when are you going to give us the 600/middleweight shootout?
I wonder if you disable the quickshifter in the F3 800, would it be better for the road?
For the price difference between the GSX-R and the Duck you could get Bazzaz fi/tc/qs plus full suspension from race tech, wonder how this comparison would go then.... Hmmmm......
+chris coleman That Showa suspension is good enough, maybe change the slip on or full system, repro and QS that's a hugh price diference :v

@1weeble1. Top speeds measured with a GPS logger. All bikes completely standard except for control tyres. Neevesy MCN
Very well done - thanks MCN
all 3 great bikes. I would go for the Mv in a heart bit!
cool video!
I'm 5'4", so I think the GSX R 750 would be best for me...
wish they would improve the looks of the GSXR's , go back to the double headlights of the 90's or something . come on guys!!
I think they nailed it when mentioning the sticker price of the GSX-R750. I agree, compared to the Ducati and MV the GSX-R is bland by comparison, but it is the whole package AND you save at minimum compared to the other 2 3k which is a lot of play money to fix the things you hate.
Michael Neeves always does a great job! However, the poor audio quality is distracting as is their fast-paced speech.
Really nice review guys!
Exactly!
great vid as always guys
Top Speed Run! YES! THANK YOU!!!
Chad and neeves in the same video...mint! Great vid guys
@Bram. You want more numbers on the screen - have you tried Sesame Street? Neevesy MCN.
I cant even hear what the commentator is saying at 3:00, im too busy being weirded out by his brother eating and blankly staring at the camera hahahahaha.
I think that comment says more about you than me. Neevesy. MCN.

Great informative video guys! You got everything right... Keep it up!
The blow buy there talking about is the crank case building to much pressure for the release system to handle so the excess has to go somewhere back through the intake via relief hosing. Japanese bikes might lack class but you will never have to tow them home.
Gixxer rules always!!!
Too much background noise...hard to understand, you guys sound muffled. Try some filtering for next time.
what do you mean the steering? i also own one, are you talking about the STIFF/STUCK feeling you get at low speeds or when slowing down?
Great video as per guys, loved the end :) lol
Great review guys...
If the 848 was not the corse it would not be £3000 more expensive. £10.5 last time I looked. Nice leathers Chad mine arrived last week . I hope you enjoyed your kippers in Peel.

0:15 no way the pet shot boys got back together
"Gsxr is best all around but it doesn't win for me" this is holding back Ducati and mv imo
When you have to make wide turns, your hands hit the fairings or will go inside them if you turn even more.
Now that's a proper shootout. I'd get the F3 last.. probably GSXR first.
Don't read out the track times. Just put a table and let the viewer just take a look.
the best audio was recorded by the iphone, you should always use it... otherwise, nice shootout
Good review, but holy crap, I think I need to turn on closed captioning and turn off the audio! ;-)
Great video.
Where does it say that this is a sportbike test?
Good review, but I found the audio of the conversations hard to hear sometimes.
how was top speed measured and are bikes bone stock except tires?
At any given time of year, i would have no problem finding at least 5 excellent condition gsxr 750's for 3-6k off the new price. Good luck finding either of these other bikes for even close to that price, if at all, except spanking new at a dealership. Take into account the thousands of GSXR's on the road right now, making parts and overall cost of ownership orders of magnitude lower than these other two. For the vast majority of real world, money spending riders, the GSXR is the clear winner.
Gee I wonder what brand of tires they are using...
GSXR!
Did MCN got the title wrong??
I found it ironic MV made a 800cc sport bike 2 years after MotoGP moved from 800 to 1000.
GSXR always be the best ...............
where got the guy with the glasses got his massiv sunburn?:D
Michael, is your brother a twin? Cheers.
Was doing a double take while the bro was talking!
No picture?
750 aLL day
has neeves got guyliner on
Good review....and great choices! ummm maybe need subtitles at times :)
H.T.V. Blu again, F3 800 fastest bike on the track.
Did they do a road section? What won? I'm guessing GSX-R750?
Good Question. The 750 has usually won the road portions of these tests but only because of the suspension set up. As for this comparison I'm not certain.
With a TTX on the rear and decent forks on the front the 800 will ride like a dream on the road.
Zone Television which one did you try?
jerryx2000 F3 675 (virtually the same as the 800)
Zone Television I think the GSX-R fare well because it is such a well sorted package - refined over 25+years and little changed since 2006. It is doubtless a delight. It just needs as restyle.
Despite many claims of improvement, the F3 is still very poorly connected from throttle to engine (it's biggest flaw), poor throttle action (no resistance) and crap electronics - my sense is that instead of multiple testing miles getting all of that right they instead used multiple settings of electronics to mask basic flaws in software and, I am guessing, piss poor and cheap ECU overwhelmed with too much input or too many channels.
Shame as it is SO close to perfect - it kinda needs someone to grab hold and do the things that a tiny company will always struggle to achieve - Mercedes Benz maybe? OR, like Triumph, get rid completely and get one excellent setting.
My highways... Puglia.
Is there a mistake in the max speed of gsxr? 191 mph?
My head says GSXR, my heart says MV. I already have a Ducati, not as nice as that one but still...
