And even today I bought a SF848 in yellow. 2012 with 2.3k miles! I love the MV Brutale (the exuahst is amazing, I love the angel wing) triples have the fantastic medium between i4. But! in terms of looks, I think the Duc(k)ati takes the crown IMO.
Hi..... im from puebla mexico and im glad to get a mv agusta brutale 675... the quick shift system is too great....... it includes: 8 different tc, 4 different drive ways..... Weight is so nice (only 170 kg). Also is a good mixture between aluminum and steel components Mv rulzzzz
My Duc SF to get dialed in required: Raising fork tubes by about 6mm, termi slip ons, anti-gravity lithium battery, 14t front sprocket, and Pirelli supercorsa tires with steep profile. It certainly isn't lazy anymore, but no where near as crazy as the Brutale 800rr I tested out. That thing felt like a little crazy toy, fun as hell, but over 100mph I'd be suspicious of it's intentions.
Good review, but I was hoping to see the torque and power curves which would probably explain the differences a bit better than peak figures. Like em both, but I'm still loving the Nuda.
I'd put the stock front sprocket back on for daily driving, then use the -1 for trackdays. My Speed Triple has ridiculous acceleration with that -1/+3 combo. The Diavel and 1098 would be hell in a hand basket.
The Brutale is appealing, but the plastic tank that comes with the warning: 'we recommend using only ethanol-free fuel' is a real red flag to anyone who has experienced the dreaded ethanol-induced tank expansion. In SoCal, ethanol-free fuel is not a real option, so neither is the MV. Ducati has at least learned a bit from their bad plastic tank saga and have at least modified the Streetfighters tank to minimize (but not totally eliminate) the potential problem.
MV just went and admitted it.... Which let's be honest... I doubt it'll be much different from the Duc tanks... IF you don't want tank expansion switch from both company
Can you rotate the hub with a spanner and completely slack the chain to get it off? It really depends on how much slack you can manage. I know some guys get the perfect combo of sprocket size and links so they can either rotate the hub forward or to the rear to change the ride height and wheel base. If that won't work, yeah you'd have to chop and replace the master link every time you want to change the front sprocket.
I love the MV but my body will never tolerate getting cramped up on another sport bike. My guess is that the MV makes more torque at a more usable power band and makes up for the difference in that way.
I bet gearing is a BIG part of why the Ducati isn't nearly as exciting. Add 2-3 teeth to the back sprocket or drop one up front and I bet it'll be REALLY exciting.
how would these two bikes compare to the yamaha FZ8 or the Triumph Street Triple? As much as I like these bikes, I would find it hard to justify the much higher cost unless there is really a significant advantage in performance.
+Ernesto Chamorro C As far as my knowledge goes the ducati is better for tall riders because the mv agusta has a very short tail where you can't sit further back as a taller rider, but i don't know what the ducati would feel like
street triple sure is a nice bike but its really heavy more-so than most naked bikes and the centre of gravity on it is weird so cornering feels different. i always go with ducati. just imo
I own a ducati street fighter 848, at the beginning i felt it was a little bit lazy, but as soon as i put the termignoni exhaust and the ducati quick shifter, BOOOM the bike changed and became more aggressive and faster and quicker and sharper, but only when needed.
Looks like Azusa which is a very easy non technical road. Should have rode GMR... and GRR to test the brakes for real life quick stop situations. LOL. I think the Brutale is the better bike for the canyons I love in Malibu like Tuna Canyon (1 way downhill), Piuma, Latigo, and Saddle Peak.
My thoughts exactly...unfortunately the clutch slave cylinder doesnt let me cheat and just slide the sprocket off the shaft with the chain on it-and no room to wiggle the chain off the sprocket- making me think Id have to de-link the chain everytime i wanted a switch...unless there is a trick i havent learned yet. Can you undo and redo the clip type master links, i dont think you can?
The best safety system on any bike won't save you when a car pulls out in front, or from inattention or inexperience. I would HIGHLY suggest NOT buying either of these for your first bike. Start with something small until you know what you're doing or you'll be getting scraped off the road.
OF ONN You can buy a Ducati, just be smart about what model it is. The smaller displacement Ducati Monsters are actually fantastic starter bikes. That said, you may as well get some cheap piece of crap for a starter bike since it's probably gonna get dropped.
Darwin Allen yeah the cheap part is something i forgot to mention. Not to mention, a lot of the bikes like ninja 250s hold their value, and easy to sell later, because they're always in demand
It all depends how you want to use them. that is also the reason why I disagree with the test above here... How tall are you, how much do you weight. Do you want to use it daily for going to your work or only on sundays on a short trip on perfect roads..... For example I preferre the Duc streetfighter above the Agusta. I'm 1.75 and my weight is around 67 kg. I have long legs and rather short upperbody, And I ride a bout 45.000km a year on a motorcycle. The Agusta didnt feel right. Strangly enough it didnt fellt finished, not relyable, predictable enough to my taste... Especially on the Belgian convex surfaces on the roads... about the 848 I woudlt compare it to a streetfighter. Hard as a bone with very low steering, hard on the neckmuscles....If you want to have fun on a closet circiut ok, or short trips.... but for daily work.... Altho In 92 I went to Bologna on vacation on a 888sp what is around 1200km.... If you are ready to suffer :)
I hear ya Kelvin, then again, i find the 6th gear on my 796 to be practically useless my good man... I'm on stock gearing btw... Anyway, B3 800 all day every day dudes
Other way round the brutale has been around in one guise or another for waaaayyyyyy longer than the gladius suzukis tried to copy the mv and didn't quite pull it off lol
is it me or does it sound like they were reviewing this with the DTC turned on for the duc? They never mentioned it so i think they just road it factory
They are not even in the same class, the Tuono is a 1000CC bike. these are middle weights. Fuelling always seems to be MV's short fall, I own a F4 and I have the same problem. ps: I also own a Tuono.
***** I've hear the MT-09 feels pretty cheap on the suspension. The only negative thing I've heard about the z1000 is that the ABS can't be turned off and you can never go wrong with a speed triple.
are you a sporty rider? go for the triumph, are you a more of motard rider, and like to wheelie a lot go for the mt-09 (new suspension for 2017) , and i really dont like the z1000, just personal opinion.
The Ducati looks like an old man's bike compared to the Agusta!

For me Brutale 800 didn't feel that exciting. It was just a nimble and fast bike with the worst throttle ever. Even the exhaust sounded surprisingly dull.
The Streetfighter has to be one of the sexiest bikes produced today.
even today
yet still not a sexy as that MV
@@kevintunaley5079 for me it's SF > MVA all day. the mv looks good, but the duc just looks great.
@@TheEarepol even today, buyong one tomorrow

Great review! At last some honest reviews that don't sound like advertising! Keep up the good work guys
I test them both and decided to go with the Mv. But I think either one is great to have.
Cool video!
Italian bikes = win-win. :-)
The new reviewer is a welcomed addition. You're videos are still overproduced and never need a song to distract me from the music the bikes make.
Love my Duc SF848 great bike for doing anything I need. I commute, travel, and hit the twisties all in one day, A lot of fun and functionality.
I'm an avid motorcycle rider and I love your videos.

amazing video quality
MV is a bomb ! I prefer that one over ducati.
The MV gets my vote!
Guys there is a new kid on the block !!! the new yamaha MT-09 looks awesome with a cheaper price tag :)
Wont comment on the Bikes as such (both great)
BUT, I will say...You guys are SO lucky :-)
Nice test with nice bikes

great review
Great vid! Hope to have SF soon in my garage!
Ducati 848 ''Streetfigher'?
Don't you mean ''Streetfigh>T

thinking of buying one - yes the brutale!, got an old 916 and a street triple 675 r so this fits nicely. its ether this or the f4

awesome review man.. but why no benelli tnt 899? :)
how would these two bikes compare to the yamaha FZ8 or the Triumph Street Triple? As much as I like these bikes, I would find it hard to justify the much higher cost unless there is really a significant advantage in performance.
Streetfighter is such a bad ass bike !
which one is better for taller riders. IM 6"2, Thank you

"Jack Russell on Crack" Love it, priceless.
Most good lookin and radical naked bike that is .. i'd go for duc SF .. mine whas tune with bazzaz , with stock ohlins .. handling is superb.
Grapevine says the monster is about to be slapped with a 4-valve 821 from the new Hyper.
Love italian comparison! Mv and Ducati **
The thing I liked was seeing the tanks getting filled

The SF848 is a MUCH better streetbike than the evo. Take the SF unless you plan to spend a lot of time at the racetrack.
I'll take one of each!
The FZ8 ain't even close. And this duo offers about 25 horses (118) more than a Street Triple.(93.5).
If I'm new at bikes, is it ok to buy Ducati ??? I heard they have some safety systems and stuff.
The best safety system on any bike won't save you when a car pulls out in front, or from inattention or inexperience.

The Agusta is nice but Ducati will always be my love! Ducati all day long!!!
god this MV is pure pornography
Where was this filmed? Those roads look amazing.
Looks like temecula,ca
This is Azusa, CA.
TheMachRider 45 minutes apart but then again who cares
who is the best ? Ducati 848 or ducati streetfighter ??

I cant figure out if I want the 848evo or the SF848....and now the 899 Panigale is on the way to kick out the 848evo and corsa.
where did you record it???
Less rotating mass with more cylinders which revs faster with the MV.
The MV looks like a Gladius.
Yeah, they both have two wheels.
Other way round the brutale has been around in one guise or another for waaaayyyyyy longer than the gladius suzukis tried to copy the mv and didn't quite pull it off lol
Donald Trump (Verified) YOU look like a Gladius.
Kevin Duke reminds me of Shaggy from Scooby doo, after eating a munchie.. :)
Kinda late but great !
My favourite is agusta brutal 800
due moto fantastiche!
Who knew Raylan Givens reviewed motorcycles.
is it me or does it sound like they were reviewing this with the DTC turned on for the duc? They never mentioned it so i think they just road it factory
What is the song at the beginning ?
Anyone know what mountain that is?
The STREET Triple is the lightest of the naked bikes and the centre of gravity is really low. You're thinking of the SPEED Triple, dude...
whats the difference againts a monster?
I agree theyre overpriced but the problem with moto gp is the new frame theyre using compared to Honda and Yamaha
"a Jack Russell on crack" lol down boy!
What's three song at the start?
That MV is a piece of art. It's beautiful beyond belief. This Ducati looks.. normal in comparison
review the ducati street fighter S
They should’ve compared Brutale vs Monster 821 instead
Miss u Duke!
Yamaha MT-09?
They are not even in the same class, the Tuono is a 1000CC bike. these are middle weights. Fuelling always seems to be MV's short fall, I own a F4 and I have the same problem. ps: I also own a Tuono.
they knew they wanted the ducati to start not even a review
MV is great, but the build quality is unacceptable. I've seen oil leaks straight from the factory on multiple occasions.
nj4ck
Thats not good. I can't decide between an Mt-09, street tripple and z1000!
***** I've hear the MT-09 feels pretty cheap on the suspension. The only negative thing I've heard about the z1000 is that the ABS can't be turned off and you can never go wrong with a speed triple.
+nj4ck The real negative thing about the Z1000 is that's it's pig heavy. The Triumph feels like a feather in comparison.
Street all day everyday
are you a sporty rider? go for the triumph, are you a more of motard rider, and like to wheelie a lot go for the mt-09 (new suspension for 2017) , and i really dont like the z1000, just personal opinion.
Try a dual sport. :x
13k for a Ducati... in Brazil 20k :( fuck taxes...
Two beautiful bike, but the Ducati have good quality of materials and components...!!! love Italy...!!! Love DUCATI...!!!
Is that just me or does the mv800 look like new SV650??
LOL
Love the 848 street fighter!
Yep MT09 gonna sell well
Which is the bike that you can drive fast without shitting your pants
+Leonard Read Triumph street triple
The Ducati looks like an old man's bike compared to the Agusta!

Tuono ftw
Where can i get my naked italian? like it boys keep it up
I was just looking at the spelling of Ducati and I can't see the "R" in it, strange. It's a Ducarrrrrrti, not.
I just did that to my bike (-1/+3) and it feels like the engine size doubled, then you get on the freeway and it feels like someone stole 6th gear.
Naked sport bikes! Street fighters are home built.
Concept was adopted by manufacturers in the 90s.
yup you are correct.. got it confused, my bad :P
Whenever they compare a Ducati with ANY other bike, the Ducati always lose. Well, just look at the MotoGP....... Overpriced bikes
Brutale vs Street Fighter? It's a mismatch 1099 against 800 and a lot more
Alan Caldoza The Ducati is an 848cc......
Azusa Ave.
And for $13K I can have a Tuono with a V4
How tall is the blond guy?
lol he looks like a kid on the ducati
I test rode the Ducati before buying my Tuono. I couldn't get away with the street fighter. Awful riding position.
ITALIAN STYLE GUYS!!!
Ducati always the ditzy supermodel only good for a fling.
we won, 40k in Taiwan.
Whats a Doo-cardi?
ah
both are so great, but i would go with the ducati, pure sex
