@@spudchunk811 most kids dont have a first year summer internship. second year is the important one. start networking now and you will have a headstart on everyone else. good luck!
@@arghonandi6818 do the top financial firms/ banks look closely at A level grades? Also do you know if they ask for the certificates or proof of the grades?
@@spudchunk811 I'm from Canada so idk what a level grades are.
But yes, banks do look at grades. They sometimes ask for an unofficial transcript when you apply and some banks might even do a background check after you accept offer

The Citi summer internship in London hasn’t started yet. Starts June 20th, first week digital. Week 2 more learning. Week 3-8; two four week rotations at chosen desks (I believe it’s a big intern class). The work mode is “hybrid” meaning 2 days at home (desk decides) and 3 days at the office. If anyone else is in London hit me up this summer!☺️🤙🏾

I know that some other banks are starting on the 20th too e.g., Mizuho. What banks have already started?
@@sanktalucia4959 also GS and JP started today, although I know that a lot of European interns (me included) are still waiting for their VISA so they couldn't join... it seems like it's going to be 100% at the office for us

One question though - I'm finding the work culture to be very desk driven (people are glued there - found myself a bit nervous being the only intern to grab a 5 min coffee). How do I catch up in this boutique environment where this "catch up" environment isn't really here? Best of luck also - great vid!

I am a girl interning at BOFA this summer. I am unsure how i can combine myself with what i wear that reflects simplicity and boldness.
I think that safety is important and one should use double-protection technologies, such as Oreol Staking!

I've just finished my first year of University studying accounting and finance at not exactly a highly rated University and didn't get a spring week this year. Are my chances of getting a summer internship at an investment bank really low? What kind of things do I need to do from now to up my chances to get an internship in finance/accounting/banking etc. Just worried that I'm too late now and not going to get the job I would love. 2 weeks over and I’m quite enjoying the tasks and the sport of smashing them. I’m learning a lot and connecting with a lot of people. But a little worried regarding my life goals even now :) any advice for overthinking me ??
it will all fall into place naturally over time, don't put pressure on yourself to have it all figured out now

Is it a bad idea to do a 30 minute catch-ups every week if your team is small and your in accounting?
Hi does this apply to Software Engineering internship roles in Investment Banking Firms as well or is this only for the Finance/Banking interns?

Would you give the exact same advice for an off-cycle?
I’m not Afzal but I’m sure this is applicable to off-cycle internships too. With off-cycle internships, you have longer to network as they usually run for 3-6 months depending on the bank or financial institution.
@@lesdickson9765 They can run for longer, and I am just asking because I don't think (but don't know either) it would look good to be meeting with 5 different people a day for at least 6 months. I think it can come off as too try hard
What do you talk about in these coffee chats? How do you keep them from getting redundant? can you give some examples of things to ask a senior person vs analyst/associates? @afzal
