The Cavan Calves are Calving 👍👍
Adrian, your cinematic grasp of video creation is top-notch! You use multiple cameras for some tasks, and edit the views like a professional film director. For example, the drilling of the hole in the calving pen back wall, for chain attachment. I do notice and appreciate the thought, effort and time that you exert in making these videos for us. THANKS! From Evelyn in Minnesota
Adrian, the excitement in your voice shines through. You are a good caring person. 👍
Brilliant great start to the new year Adrian 👍

Calvin in Cavan. Great way to start the year 👍👍
Best of luck with the calving Season. Great videos
Thanks
I write hours and date on new filters when changing them. Helps you remember (but then I am getting old) I then order a replacement so I have one on the shelf for next time.
Really enjoyed tonight’s video. Just lovely
This is a good and cheerful video. Just what we need. Whilst my area is unaffected and life goes on normally, just a few hundred kilometres north of me, the people of Noto are still struggling in the aftermath of the New Year's Day earthquake. So 'Hope' was a good choice of name for their sake as much as it is for you and your farm. Good choice Adrian.
Hi Adrian I worked on a farm a few years ago and we put a tank in to collect rainwater but we had to get rid of it after a few months all it was doing was the wash down in the parlour and yard but we got a huge problem with E. coli mastics our vet and a guy that came out to check our problems sed it was birds droppings on roof washed in to tank was the problem bird shit with E. coli about 2 weeks after we stopping using rain water problem solved
Like the grinder Adrian I have one and it’s definitely worth the money, best of luck with calfing season

its amazing adrain how we are goinging back to old ways in regards to harvesting water my late father's home house had a tank beside it to take the rainwater off the roof .good work as always lad hope you have a good calfing season
desperate times call for desperate measures
Another perfect video Adrian, noticed Bailey and Hudson waiting to start work 😄 you will be pleasantly surprised how much water you’ll collect off the roofs. Wow first two cows to calf both giving heifers, very good start to the year 🍻
Gotta say lovely markings on that 1st calf
Wishing you and your family a safe, happy and prosperous 2024.
Absolutely wonderful Adrian, certainly brings joy and warmth to the soul. Much needed on a cold day.

Hello from SWEDEN! I like your films and work! Ihave also Fergusons at my farm, 5455,4255,698,675 and ferguson -55 diesel.THANK YOU!
Congratulations on your healthy calf's
Another great video Adrian and family 👍
Well Hope is a good name for the new year on the farm.I hope it's a good one and a safe and healthy year for all your family and livestock.
Adrian, i have a dairy cow question? If a cow has mastitis, but it only effects one teat, or two does that render the whole udder no good? Or can she still have functioning teats that will produce milk still? I figured since a cow has 4 teats and two are damaged can the others still function ok? I don't know too much about dairy cows or cattle in general, just wondering??
That's if and when you clear up the mastitis in the udder that is, will she still be some use?
Put a washer between the hinches greetings from Holland
the door hinges just add new washers onto the pins between the hinge tubes... sometimes when the door refuses to lift off or its too heavy i get a thick washer cut a slot out for the pin and then jack up the door slide the washer in nad tac weld it to one half of the hinge.
Well Adrian, Lovely weather, another year , hope its a good one Lovely farm, great heafer calf , bit of a stretch in the evening, great video, chat soon kieran from Laghey donegal town
Adrian. Try Rays Concrete Grooving. He's a Cavan man. We got a good bit done. Would save a cow and more importantly a person from slipping 👍
Idea for your latch pin on your sagging door is bevel the end. Just enough so its starts in the hole. Love hearing you mention -4 degrees kinda warm in my books. -44 hear in northern Alberta. Add in the windchill becomes -51. Not a farmer, machine guy, but like the idea of the calf coat/cover. Be careful on the ice Sir. No rushing about.

Adrian what do you do with the dirty straw, bad silage etc? I don’t see any dung heap with you
Lovely calves. Great ideas for catching rain water for reuse and also switching to LED lighting. 👍😊👍
Great video Adrian good luck with the calvan
Beautiful little hope for tge new season. I love watching your videos, I know this will be a busy January for you, hope all goes well.
I get so much inspiration from your channel.. Bought my first heifers in July and now have 18 Thank you Adrian 👍
Are you starting a milking farm or beef?
@@karolschulz48 Beef farm
Great start for the New year. Welcome Hope and Sadie 🎉. Can't wait for the upgrades to the digger 😊
Lovely start to the new year Adrian. Wishing you and yours all the best.
Hi Adrian, another great video. You seem to be VERY accurate at predicting calving. It would be great if you could do an in depth video of what you see and feel when you know they're going to calve within 48/24/ 12 hours. I have a very small herd of beef shorthorns and tend to be thinking for days if not weeks they're about to pop. It would be very interesting. Thanks from Fermanagh!
The best of luck with the calfing it hard to be up day and night for next few weeks the best of luck 2 heifers off good start
It's great to see new life coming to the farm keep up the great work .🤠👍
Adrian did you ever try wet and forget? Great for keeping yard clean and keeping the algae away. Just spray on and the rain will do the rest. Leaves yards very easy to clean. Clarkes in cavan stock it
Hi Adrian, I see your website is out of stock for mugs since before Christmas, any idea when you'll have them again? Thanks, and good luck with the calving
hi adrian i had trouble with the tags falling out i switched to cormac tage a few years ago and not one of them fell out they are a godsend
Hello from waikato new Zealand just found you on utube and love your videos wondering how many cow's you are milking
Fantastic with the new calves. Let’s hope that the world becomes a little more peaceful. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦💪🏻☘️
Fabulous share Adrian 👌.
Good man.some man power.washing.
Lovely two calfs .👍🏻🐄
Amazing video Adrian 👍♥️ New Year, new life with wee Hope and Sadie 🥰👍 I was lol at your quote from Crocodile Dundee 😂 Have a lovely day Adrian and family ♥️
Happy.calfing season
5 calves here in the last week, bit of a calm at the moment now 😂
Cracking choice of name, Happy New Year Adrian.
Hope was the perfect choice!!! I thought you would leave the calves with their moms for a few days at least. Wouldn't it be better for them not to be separated so quickly? I know the Funky Farmer would love having a parlor like yours!!
Best of luck with everything on the farm ahead next week 👍👍👍
Get yourself a ibc cube for water for power washing great job
I did have one but I put it to close to the washer and the exhaust put a lovely big hole in it 🙈
That is definitely not ideal
That is my sir name, love you videos from a paddy in London

Comment for the algorithm to help the channel 👍👍👍.
we got -26 c last night . Northern Canada
Hi Adrian, have you ever tried using Mosgo green remover? I can’t recommend it highly enough. Spray it on the concrete(preferably in a dry spell) and let the rain do the rest. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Did you get the light changed an£ the power washing finished
Did you drain the 2 sump bungs Adrian! The 4 wd shaft means there's a track in the sump and oil lies on both sides.
That Algae can be very hazardous very well done, a lovely calf?
I'm excited to see new calves being born this year on your farm! I wonder how many Heifer calves you'll get this year? Exciting!
All the best to you and yours Adrian in 2024! Kristin in Boston
Aidan, happy new year and best of luck for 2024. A nice name for next heifer calf Luna....❤
Nice video. Would there be 2 sump stud s on your tractor when u were changing the oil. Left and right??
What do u do with the straw out of the calving pens
Interesting video Adrian
You should try a turbo head on your pressure washer they work way better
Watch if you put in a rainwater collection system as avian tb can be a big problem in some areas.
Good one sir... yer busy as usual.. the extra work is starting for ya already 😮😊. Stay safe 🏴
The weather here today is 0 degrees Fahrenheit with a wind chill of minus 12 degrees Fahrenheit. Burr!
Hi,happy new year ,do not spray concrete hyper chloride that keep concrete perfect no slime
Great video Adrian as always hi you’ve probably heard this one before what has someone from Monaghan got in common with a pregnant cow …. there both near Cavan 😜🤣
Adrian, I asked you a good while ago if you captured rain water, given the high demands for (expensive) water on a farm. You mentioned your well and that you’d be giving some thought to it. You did a bit of well restoration, are you using it? Will you catch rainwater from the other shed roofs?
I still need to finish the well , I will film all. But yes within the next 1-3 years i will be harvesting the rain water from most of our roofs and using our well water if everything tests out ok.
@@IFarmWeFarm Thank you for the reply!
@@IFarmWeFarmRainwater makes power washing hell of a lot easier. Not sure why, but something to do with chemicals in the mains water.
The reason why power washing is easier is due to the head of pressure from the harvesting tank@@JamesMcAlea
Lovely episode !!
How long do the calves stay with their Mum before you move them ?
Hi Adrian,do you like the Hogg wellies?
Just ok, very hard to get off and very slippy on wet concrete. I liked the Dunlops puroforts but unfortunately I had to buy a new pair every 3 months as they kept leaking.
Great video
Do you sell male calves and keep the females?
Would a couple of washers put on the hinge pins not raise the door
