Demos in the Dark // Fairfield Circuitry ~900 Fuzz // Fuzz Pedal Demo
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 сер 2024
- ~900 or "About 900" is a spiritual successor to the discontinued Fairfield Circuitry Four Eyes Fuzz, having a similar fuzz circuit. This pedal has a very wide range of gain - you can go from clean with lots of headroom, to completely slammed and distorted - and everything in between.

Every Fairfield pedal I've tried has its own "je ne sais quoi" character about it, and this fuzz is no exception to that. Real slick, man.
This is the first video of yours I have come across. Fantastic. Really well done. I look forward to checking out more.
PS- this pedal sounds rad!
always a pleasure to watch your videos man. Great little tracks splattered throughout
thanks so much!
Absolutely love the hook in the opener! Sounds freaking massive!
thanks, homie!
Sounds awesome! You always get the best gear on this channel!
hey thanks! i’m pretty picky. glad being a snob has at least one positive outcome. 😂
good handful of demos for this hitting the scene today... picked yours first 🍻
hey thanks! honored!
Ryan your track through the "In the mix" section fantastic to my taste. Wow, i love it. So inspiring. I Bought the pedal because of this video, and since purchased every FC pedal in current production. Love to see some more FC demos from you in the future.
i've done a few and i hope i continue to be on future releases!
Man, that is a great sounding fuzz, very '60's feel. I love the way it sounded with the bass!
definitely one of my favorite bass fuzzes!!!
@@DemosInTheDark Thats funny, the harp demo channel also specifically mentioned that it was good for bass too.
@@bradruhfel4883 indeed! emily and i are actually good buds! she’s great!
Oh shit, I think I need one.
Diggin' that fuzzy bass, Dude! Have you reviewed that reverb unit?
doing the amp with a tiny focus on the reverb this thursday!
Hi, love the video but was wandering if you know how well the fuzz cleans up when using the volume on the guitar?
Yo John, I've had the ~900 for a few months. The cleanup depends on where you have the bias control set - the lower the bias, the better the cleanup. It doesn't clean up immediately like a fuzz face, more gradual, making stops at Distortion and Overdrive along the way. I absolutely love it, it hasn't left my board since I got it. Hope that helps!
Is it possible YT knows about the Sweetwater package delivered this morning and thinks I need another pedal? 😜
Had the Unpleasant Surprise for a minute, which while def different, wasn't exactly user friendly( in any kind of chain), - more of a studio/ recording tool.I assumed that FF would eventually release something a little more flexible, and seemingly, - this would be it.
Getting away from more traditional circuits, though Germanium is never going to be replaceable. Will be looking out at my local shop, who fortunately carry and stock.
ya know, i found this pedal to be really refreshing, which is a weird word but seems to be the only one that works. 🤷♂️
Is there a Benson Vincent demo coming soon? Cheers
just went live!
I get so many guitar/pedal recommendations on UA-cam that I came here skeptical- PLANNING to hit THUMBS DOWN. The moment that orange offset started wailing I couldn't reach my cursor fast enough to hit thumbs up. Are those Mojo pickups with the gold foil in the white guitar?
yes sir! mojo pups in the fidelity stellarosa!
@@DemosInTheDark lovely
It seems so versatile that I am going to need two of them...
that’s what i’m talking about!
If you already have a barbershop and an unpleasant surprise, would this offer up any sounds that those two couldn’t achieve alone or combined?
hmm, unpleasant surprise is certainly a bull in a china shop. ~900 does the lower gain fuzz that bridges the gap between unpleasant surprise and barbershop. i’m not sure on how the ~900 could be replicated by the two, but it might be possible? seems kinda unlikely, but where there’s a will… haha
@@DemosInTheDark thanks! I wasn’t a huge fan of the Four Eyes, it was cool but not for my set up/style. Maybe I don’t need this one. Still might try it out though.
Besides, pushing the Barbershop with the Accountant can get into fuzzy territory.
@@bradruhfel4883 totally, i do that all the time! 🤜🤛
@@bradruhfel4883 I use the Four Eyes more like an overdrive. It goes 4E-> US->Accountant->Barbershop on my board
Initially thought this could replace my cheap EHX Ripped Speaker, but I guess I'm good.
