I don't keep up with country music with but I love it more than I do anything else love Hank Williams and Patsy Cline when she died and hey guide it was just not the same I didn't know about the new Opera don't keep up with it was a beautiful video and I enjoyed it so much thank you so much
Thank you more than like
Sure sir
Hi the blue rolls Royce at grand ole Opry belonged to Tammy Wynette. It was her 1979 rolls Royce
Hey Russ!!! Your "DOING" "OPRYLAND " "PROUD"!!! Be Safe!!!
I'm thinking that "circle" was originally a part of the stage at the Ryman. Whenever I see it, I think of the song "Will The Circle Be Unbroken". I got to work at Opryland back in the '70's as a grounds keeper. I was taking a break with a fellow grounds keeper behind the Grand Ole Opry House and met Roy Acuff as he was going inside.
I was very thrilled to see a photo of Grandpa Jones on the wall!
That brick house next the Opry House was Roy Acuff's home.
35.00 for a tour thanks russ for saving me money. not a big country fan anymore because of some of the new entertainers
I agree.👍
@@meloneyparker It ain't "country" no more. They all sound the same. No originality among the performers or their music.
@@raallen1468 yep.
@@raallen1468 I just heard 3 very original country artists on th Opry stage for a special event.
The Opry is all about the past, present and future of county music. That’s why I love to give tours there.
@@robertcrump4679 Names of the performers....?????
Great job. Brings back memories. I was there in the mid 80’s. I could see the seats we sat in. About 3 rows from the stage. Had a great time there. That was before they built all that stuff there. There used to be an amusement Park called Opry Land. and it was lots of fun. It was a lot better then. Be Safe!
I remember Opry Land.
Its beautiful. Ive been their back in 1996.and took a back stage tour and had a meet and greet with some of the country artist.its a memory i will never forget.
Hi Sir Russ it's always a pleasure to watch your videos . From Algeria 🇩🇿✌❤
Howdy Russ!! Safe travels sir 👍
I would so love to go back I've been there in 2017 and I loved it there I love everything about the Grand Ole Opry I want to go back there again sometime I've always been a fan of the Grand Ole Opry it is basically my dream to be on stage hopefully by the end of we're at the beginning
That was a fun tour, Thanks for taking us back stage. The Grand Old Opry House will have to go on my bucket list.
Russ, you should go to Andrew Jackson's home, The Hermitage. It's close to the Opryland area. Well worth the trip.
There are several ante-bellum mansions around the Nashville metro area; open for tours.
My daughter actually gets to go backstage in some of the dressing rooms and hangout this month! She gets to perform on the stage with her best friends for a dance trip. It will be such an experience
Hello from Chandler, its 100° 🔥
Taught band at Chandler and Hamilton high schools. I remember triple digit temps and single digit rh vary well.!
I went to a Saturday night show at the Orpy about 20 years ago. I still get goosebumps thinking about it and I'm not a country music fan. Highly recommend spending a Saturday night at the Opry!
Thanks, Russ. I didn't take the backstage tour a decade ago. But I did see the stars i like performing on the stage. I also went in a small museum in a separate building where I saw a lot of stuff donated by Marty Robin's family. I'm a big fan of him.
Thanks Russ, I feel like I can skip this attraction now! I'm $35 to the good. Nice Rolls Royce. Very cool tour. Good video.
oh how wonderful to see this! When i was 15 and we drove cross country (san diego to Virginia)my dad made us wait in the car at the Ryman because he heard
that Loretta Lynn was there. We were all hoping to see her. LOL at us waiting at the steps for her.
Hi Russ. Good vid as usual. I noticed the 24 MPH sign, did you ask about that?? Never saw one that read 24 MPH, they always read 25 or 20 :-) Never been to TN. Happy traveling and videoing so I can see that stuff.
Made you look!
That was a way cool video, definitely too cool for school. Remember Hee Haw well, Buck, Roy and Minnie Pearl. Those were the good ole days. Suprised you were able to film so much. Always enjoy a lil country music, nice story telling put to music. Exceptional, your bringing this to us. Thank you, nice job for sure. 😊👍.
I was there about 27 years ago. There has been a lot of changes. The shows were great. Thanks for the tour.
Excellent tour. I am now oriented to the Opry and the shopping center and the hotel. When I’ve gone in on a charter bus, I missed the beauty of the court. Thank you for putting this together for us.
That was a great tour. I never had a chance to go to Nashville to see it all but Barbara Mandrell's song "I was country when country wasn't cool" is me. I grew up with "real" country music and the Ryman.
Thank you so much for us never been there but I am going to travel there this summer 2021 just because you went I'm going to go awesome tour awesome way that you presented it thank you
Bonjour ---- Merci pour cette visite emblématique superbe vidéo et photo --- Bonne route a toi -- Alain MICHEL - France
Thank you for taking us with you on your terrific journey. Bring back memories..Stay Safe.
Excellent Video Russ ! The shots were great and informative.
Makes us want to travel there ourselves ! Safe driving...
Glad you enjoyed the tour😊Interesting video.Thanks Russ👍
Merveilleuse vidéo encore thanx Russ
Glad to see you in Tennessee.... I am from east TN in Rogersville
I live just over 2 miles from the Grand Ole Opry. I knew it was there but did not know they had moved out there so long ago. Before Opry Mills was built (that is the mall) we had Opry Land . It was an amusement park which was closed in the late 90s. My father and I had speculated years ago if the house you mentioned was part of the old amusement park. Seems there also was some sort of empty space near the house that we speculated was one of the old rides. That was back around the turn of the century. Likely the empty space is no more. Back in the early 80s my sister and I would head out to that area to see "The Waking Crew" who played perhaps in the Opry. I was young so I don't remember the details.
One thing I have realized from your vids of the state capitol and Opry is just how much wealth is in this city. I don't share in that wealth so I guess its just not apparent to me. Perhaps that is why Nashville is called Nashvegas.
Well, this post is getting too long. Thanks Russ!
Loved every second of this video. Well done Russ !
Thanks for the tour. It is very unlikely I'll ever make it to Nashville so this is the closest I'll get to the Opry House. The artists don't wait on the side of the stage you mentioned. They take the stage from the side where the announcers podium is located. Sometimes they may leave on the opposite side. Natalie Stovall was standing on that opposite side from the podium during the live streams while Covid was affecting the performances.
Great vid Russ. Take care.
The house was built first Roy Acuff in the early 1980's, and Mr. Acuff lived there first the remainder of his life, after the passing of his wife, Mildred. After Roy's passing, the house was converted to a small office building.
My husband and I took the tour last year. It was worth the money.
This will be one of my stops. Looks like it was easy to get to. Perfect video! Thank you for stopping.
Well done Russ.
Iam from India living in Chennai city.i love watching your Rvertv videos in UA-cam and iam a big fan of you too sir.i love to visit America especially Arizona i love it!!! Thanks for your videos sir talk soon❤❤❤❤
Hey Russ brilliant vlog loved it as you say
Too cool for school
😂😂😂
Thanks for an awesome video. This is the best one i have seen of the backstage tour. Wish this was made before april when i went. I def will take the tour on my next trip there. Thanks again for a great video
Loved the video and scenery. Thanks
Friday March 15th 1974 was the last show at the original location then Saturday March 16th 1974 was the first show at the new location. Right at 47 years and 2 months at the new location.
The original location was the Ryman Auditorium on Broadway where Russ took us there last time.
@@DannyShaw3388 Actually, the original show was at the WSM studios on the top floor of the insurance company building at 7th Ave. & Union.
That was a wonderful visit. Alan Jackson missed out...had he been there warming up...Rvertv's biggest fans be in the wings!
I'm so happy for you.🌷
Nicely done Russ, It has been over 20 years since I have been there. Thank you
I have been to The Grand Ole' Opry Friday and Saturday live shows twice over the years.... I should try the tour, but I always boondock for a night, near the 808 foot diamond shaped WSM 650 Radio Tower located at I-65 and Brentwood road everytime I pass thru Nashville...
You “out did” yourself Russ. Fantastic! Thank you.
Nicely done sir.
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. Thanks for the tour Russ. Colleen from Calgary, Alberta
thanks for sharing this! I remember when they moved to this location and the first broadcast. hope to see it in person some day. thanks again!
Thanks for sharing. Awesome.
Amazing beautiful place. 🪕🎸
Thanks Russ 🚐

I remember going there as a kid when it was an amusement park. Fun times hated they closed it.
I had no idea the Opry looked like that from the outside. I've seen the inside, but never the outside. Thank you.
The plaza at the Opry is extremely well kept. I enjoy having a meal there on days I’m not working.
What a cool video, thank you! Always wondered how it looked behind the scenes. 🤗
Thanks for taking us to Nashville, been there long ago when my Aunt took me there.
Thank you for a magnificent tour.
Imagine 10 ft of water over your head there.. it flooded baaaaad back in 2010
I was in Nashville visiting sis-in-law when the flooding hit, but she lived just east of I-24 towards Antioch, so she had no issues.
We worked with her church group to provide meals, etc. to those affected.
I am not a country fan but we did a coast to coast Bike tour in 2017 and some of our crew wanted to visit so we all went and had a look. I have to say its an impressive site Russ and I see how easy you can buy into the lifestyle. The whole place was a credit to its owners on how they kook after it.
Too cool for school. Great tour.
Russ, that was awesome.....
to stand where hank williams, hank jr, dolly parton, jonny cash and waylon jennings
amazing
1. im joining the elks. 2. everything is so CLEAN!
Nice! Thank you. I made it to the Country music hall of fame, but not the Opery.
Thanks for the tour Russ. We will.defently go when we get Nashville, love it thanks. Larry Miller San Diego Ca.
Thanks
Love this
Excellent!
That was cool!! Now I have to go there. 😁
After work routine. Get home 6:15. Cook dinner turn tv on switch on UA-cam. Kick back recliner kick off shoes. Turn on some RVerTV eat my dinner. and relax.
cool
Excellent video! Well done with the pictures and narration!
It's been some wealth to walk threw that place💲👍🤠🌴🇺🇸
They allow the tourists to go into Roy Acuff's Dressing Room, Room #1, because Roy always had the door open and enjoyed having people drop by his Dressing room and visit with him.
We booked tickets to go in March. I thought the ticket website was so cool with the 3d map. Love this video :) I was like “there’s my bench!” I’m so hoping to run into a singer or two in the hallways.
You never know who you’ll meet on an Opry tour. Lee Greenwood popped in on one of mine while I had my group in the “mailbox room”.
nothing makes me happier than hearing YEY!
I've been to the Grand about 10 times and got to meet all the ole timers. I was backstage nine of those times . No more---way too commercialized now. That down home feel is gone. It really is sad the way Nashville has turned out... All about the almighty dollar! That is sad. My daughter got to sing on the circle. It meant so much back then. Now it's all business and less reverence. Dues? Artist don't pay their dues anymore. No need to comment, this is how most of the ole timers feel too...
👍👍 Cool! Thanks! My to go list keeps on getting longer and longer.
This was a nice tour and you did a very nice job of sharing it with us. I went to the Opry several years ago, can't remember who all played that night but I enjoyed going. We set in the nose bleed section, it is way up there.
So so so glad you enjoyed , I have been many times back in the eightys and nineties . Mother I would jump on 4 or five day tour bus. And depending what time of year the decorations would suit the season . The shopping Mall has just as much to see, and you didn't buy anything it was like a garden show and sometimes live radio shows , interviews and sing , a wonderful time. Mother and I spent little to no money in those places. WE take pictures maybe buy a drink of pop or coffee, bag of candy and just have fun. As you drove in that was all there parking for the park which back then you could easy have 12to 15 shows around the park when it is open.... lose of great music.
All those stairs is how they can fill the with people open all doors and out you go. Meanwhile down in courtyards people waiting walk in sit down in 15 mins turn around 4 shows a day. BUSSES line up along street unload leave and busses pickup and are gone just like clock work. It truly is amazing to watch. Get lost nop your host never leaves you she takes you in and to your seats and out again. Glad you enjoyed.
I’ve been waiting for this one!
That's not the Grand Ole Opry the Grand Old Opry is at 116 North 5th Street the original one when you go into it when I was a kid it would give you Goosebumps because it's haunted really really cool experience the Grand Ole Opry the original building been close for many many years but then again I was born in 1926 I still remember like I like the Los Alamos rush I still remember
You want to treat with the old Ryman the old Grand Ole Opry you can walk in and you can feel the farmers like Hank Williams you can feel their presence it's hard but had a good way it's been more than 60 years since I've been in there I was about 30 memories I'm 93 I was bored January 13th 1926 I remember
William ... When I attended the Opry, the original was all there was. :)
The Good Ole Days!!
Love watching you really neat places like White Sands brings back so many memories I was stationed at Los Alamos World War II we built the atomic bomb I was there I mean bear we should set little bombs off in the desert and we blow all the windows out of Los Alamos and espanol town south of Los Alamos we called it the Manhattan Project memories things I could tell you get us both killed by the government
Thank you for the great video! I can remember when I was growing up my parents used to watch Yeehaw.
The last 13 seasons of “Hee Haw” were taped in Studio A at the Opry House.
that's Roy Acuff house next to the Opry... he lived only next door to the Opry House in his later years
I was fortunate to attend the Grand Ole Opry at the original Opry House. Back then there wasn’t any of the junk that is there today. I remember one parking lot that really wasn’t very large because the place didn’t hold very many people. I wouldn’t even venture close to the place now.
One of the reasons for the move to the current venue was capacity. Ryman seats 2362. The Opry a house holds 4400.
Currently, the Ryman hosts 200+ events a year. The acoustics are said to be second only to the Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
At Ryman. Downtown. Darn that spell thing
I hope you saw,the original Grand Old Opryland at the Roman downtown
There’s always confusion on this topic. While it’s true that the Ryman Auditorium changed its name to Grand Ole Opry House during the show’s stay there, it was NOT the show’s first venue.
1) 5th floor-National Life & Accident Insurance Co. building. 3 studios of increasing size
2) Hillsboro (Belcourt) Theater
3) East Nashville Tabernacle
4) Ryman Auditorium
5) War Memorial Auditorium
6) Grand Ole Opry House
my girl sang..on the stage - of the Opry.
👍👍😊
Russ I'm Jealous!!LOL!!!! Safe travels!!!!
30:12 was a great shot!
“RVer TV was here!” You sure were!
haha
ain't going to an outlet mall unless i really need something. i don't mind paying a higher price for quality, but i do mind paying lower prices for junk.
❣️🎸🎸❣️
what artist did that RR Belong to?
👍
Wasn't there an amusement park next to the Grand Old Opry?
Opryland USA. It closed in 1979.
