  • A humorous, but incredibly useful tip on refreshing, reseating, and retuning an old drum head. Use this incredibly simple trick to rebalance/retune your drums on back to back gigs, and for getting the the last bit of life out of an old drum head. Simple. Useful. Effective! That's why I call it "GREATEST TRICK EVER!!" For Refreshing, Reseating, and Retuning Old Drum Heads. LOL! ;-)

    Hey there, I discovered your channel via the Evans series videos, and I'm applying this and the way you listen to drum heads pitch on my tuning process. Dont need a tuner anymore, just using a piano for reference and the results so far are really good. Also learned the correct way to install gaff tapes on drums and more. So far the best drum tuning videos on YT. SOLID!

      This is awesome to hear, and exactly why I started this channel. To help drummers get great drum sounds. Thank you so much for the kind words. I try to make the videos helpful for all, and for those who need/want more guidance on the methods I use I offer online lessons, and of course my step by step lessons at www.kennysharretts.com. It’s my “Patreon” if you will. Also as I’m telling all my viewers, Super Thanks is now available on my vids to help support my channel. Thank you so much for watching, and commenting.

Lol I had a vacuum cleaner with a little round brush attachment and noticed my drum choOO! choOO! like a train when I put it over the empty tom mount hole. I must have spent 10 minutes just making it sing before recording it. Had to play Casey Jones after setting it all up again.

More than anything it will shake out the loser tension rods so you get a clearer picture of which rods are lower in pitch. Thx for watching.

    Does the humidity caused by our blowing affect the drum?

    • @KennySharretts
      @KennySharretts  5 років тому +1

      Not terribly much. I suppose on a cold day it may moisten the drum a bit, but no more than the air already flowing in, and out of the vent hole. That's what the vent hole is for in general. To release air, and keep the drum from having a different pressure system than it's surrounding environment,
