So many people ask me why I love living in Texas, and this is a good example of one of the many reasons. Great fishing, freshwater and saltwater. Another great video guys.
Everyone take note of Edwin’s deck on his boat, look at how many rods he’s got out there. Two-three rods tops, he’s knows what to throw and has an idea of what they are biting. How many of go out there and throw half our tackle box and barely catch three pounders. Less equals more at times.
NathanMN ya when I seen Edwin’s setup and style I figured he was one of those dudes that doesn’t say much but rolls in and kills it at the local Wednesday night tournaments.
Dang that was a biggin!! That 5 lber you caught was nice too Matt! Huge congrats to James on breaking his PB! He will most likely do it again before y'all are done.
Shake-N-Bake Bassin Lol I always thought a 250 was huge. Damn a 300hp on a boat that more than likely isn’t rated for it. I bet that is a scary ride! Hell I have a 150 on my Procraft and that’s plenty!
Capt. Zach Truong I wouldn’t think it would be much faster. But good Lord. The 250 is fast enough. I can run in the 60s with my 150 Merc and sometimes it can get scary depending on how choppy the water is. But I know how to navigate the water. But that’s fast enough for me. My 150 on a 19 foot boat is all I will ever need. Even tournament fishing and trying to get to the best spots 1st it has always done me good! I love my 150 Mercury. If I ever do switch it will be for a 4 stroke and maybe go up 25hp to a 175hp. That will be as big as I’ll ever go for a bass boat. Now a big saltwater boat is a different story. I have a 75 Johnson outboard on my 17ft Carolina Skiff and she will flat out get it down the lake!
I've been stoked to see that huge fish since i saw your instagram post. That is absolutely CRAZY! I'm from up north so that size is absolutely unheard of. i recently moved to AL and already got my PB - 4lbs. Not big by most people's standards but i've never caught a bass over maybe 2lbs before. I was so excited. Hoping to break the 6lb mark before i leave!
Don’t think I’ll ever beat my PB I caught about 6 years ago 😅 gonna be hard to catch one over 14lbs but I’m gonna keep at it! Love your videos No dumb music or cringy challenges Just straight fishing. Your living the dream man
Brother SB, Get a gym membership at Planet Fitness. $10 a month, they have showers, and they are all over the place. Also, when you get to Iowa, I'm in Des Moines, and you guys can stay here or shower here. Just helping out brothers of the bass.
Man that guys bass was a freaking donkey! I could tell how u felt when he put it in the live well by the tone of ur voice after lmfao but u respected that it was his catch. Awesome vid bro. Another banger!!!
He isnt keeping it. He is savings its life and may be saving it for pics later. Catch it and put it in livewell, get scale ready and weigh it and then put it back in to recuperate. Also may be keeping it for lunkers program.
@@catchinwithkyle oh ok right on! I didnt think of that, what is lunkers program? If you're referring to lunkerstv I watch him and haven't heard of his program
Texas has this program for bass over 10 pounds (may be 12 now) where you contact DNR about your fish and they take it for breeding/stocking purposes. Their goal is to improve the genetics and produce the next world record.
The program has different tiered rewards for fish starting at 8lbs, the bigger the fish the bigger the reward. However it is only the fish 13lbs and bigger caught from Jan-March that they donate for spawning. The 13lb class in that time frame is essentially what every angler in Texas strives for. Plus it has several nice prizes that come with it.
New sub. Started following you after I saw the Lawson Lindsey tarpon video. Hooked on your whole library of videos they are all great! Love the musky ones especially. Keep it up #spot2fish
OM.... Gosh dudes!!! Think I'd stay over too. A 12.3lber... biggest bass I'd ever seen........legendary stories!!! Congrats to James on the 5.47PB 2nd day think it might be the day of all time PB's.......... just sayin'.......... Good Luck my friends. This is just over-the-top guys..........so good!
Welcome to Texas Fishing, it is very exciting the right about the drinking water got to drink the water, it gets very addicting. Take time for yourself so you can enjoy it again. Congrats on your p b James. I'm glade you noticed where Edwin caught his bass both times, I was hoping you would and you didn't let Us down, nice read.
Awesome series so far! Love it! Will this be your new Jon Boat tournament boat? Or are you still gonna use the old rust bucket? Cause this boat is sick.
Do you by chance remember where that spot you were sight fishing was on Pines? I know what boat launch that was just not familiar what area you were at.
Awesome video as always. That was a huge fish that guy caught. However im not sure how it is in TX , but in pa no bass are to be harvested or put in a live well until June 11th. It's all catch and immediate release. That being said texas has an excellent lunker program and has different seasons than here in pa. Bass are not really even pre spawn here yet. Water temps are still in the upper 30s low 40s. I live through you guys right now while I get my boat and gear prepared. I'll be starting to dig in to fishing in a week or two. The temps should start rising drastically soon. Tight lines
SB when you get to Iowa my friends and I know a private pond and the avergae is 3 to 5 pounds. Last year i caught a 6.5 pounder out of it and a ton of 30 inch northern too.
Reel Therapy I agree! Good to see another North Carolina guy in the comments! I fish Badin, Tillery, Jordan, High Rock all the time! Loves all those lakes!
Good video guys!..Uf you come through North West Tennessee there is a man made lake called Gibson County lake and it has some 14s in there..Or you could stop by Reelfoot Lake..It was formed in 1812 by the Niagara Falt earthquake..Historic lake!..The earthquake made the Mississippi River run backwards..lol..Reelfoot is very stumpy with ALOT of Cypress trees and duck blinds and Lilly Pads..a lot of vegetation..Grass and so on.
Hey SB great video! Enjoying this trip alot. One thing is that I have this baitcaster i have never used. Two cause its my grandpas who has passed, but I do wanna be able to use this pole and i have no idea how to use one could you explain it in your next video?
The perfect color and bait for lake o the pines is a weightless seniko and the color is watermelon creme. This is my home lake and it’s a really good lake in the winter. Great video though 🔥 I caught my pb on this lake and it was a 10.56 it was in the middle of summer and it was the craziest day of my life 🔥
It’s not that easy of fishin down here but it sure if fun when you do catch em. I fish for my school and it’s crazy how big the fish are that kids bring in.
Bro, you set the hook on that bass so hard thinking you had a Hog on the other end. Had me dying. Good size fish still got ripped out of the water on the hook set.
Hey, FYI, Oregon Wal-Marts (at least near Portland) have become pretty un-friendly to overnight stays. Not sure what lake you're planning on in OR, but if it is in the Portland Metro area, I've got a spot you can sleep and shower in. I live 30 minutes from the lake that has the state record for smallmouth, and 1.5 hours from some great largemouth fishing. If our schedules line up, I'd love to join you!
Oh one other thing I forgot to say is I also run in a 18’ flat bottom kinda like you got! I would definitely like to see how you did your casting decks on yours!! I no you did a video on it but would definitely like to see it in person to help me out!! I’ve been wanting to do one on my boat also!! When I got my boat it had not been registered or in the water since 1989!! It had just been sitting in a barn for years!! I kinda thought that was pretty cool!! I love my flat bottom boat you can go places where normal bass boats can’t & get on some pigs for sure!! Sorry I forgot to say all that in my other one I sent you guys!! Good luck guys & I hope you guys catch some pigs also in every state for sure!!
Sounds like you might be through Nevada in the near future. I’d love to throw lines with you, but I’ve not had much luck near Las Vegas, as this is really my first year.
