So not only is Michael at the bottom of the East River wearing cement boots (metaphorically speaking) but now Sam has morphed into a disembodied voice?
Christian. T4YC. I love your interpretation of your watch world. It's not my taste, but you open the door to a different universe. And you make me see things differently.
I'm glad to see Chopard getting props from Christian. For whatever reason, Chopard is ignored by most channels. The Chopard Officer's Watch in gold with the forest green dial is one of the most beautiful watches I've ever seen.
Great video as always. I’d be curious to get your thoughts on the modern Santos and the difference sizes. A modern Cartier collection video would be bomb.
Not everyone who chooses steel models, does so because they can’t afford precious metal models. Some of us don’t want to beat the shit out of precious metal watches.
You’re both either missing the point or choosing the worst possible interpretation of his comment on steel. He didn’t suggest people choose steel models because they can’t afford the precious metal alternatives. He said it’s always been in the company’s best interest to offer an affordable version. That used to be the point of offering a steel model…
There’s being “able to afford” _monetarily_, & *really* being able to afford from a lifestyle perspective. Being that concerned with durability sort of serves the assertion. Please read in Transatlantic accent.
@@Boggsy. That makes absolutely no sense. Afford is not the word you’re looking for. That word would be choice. This also makes the point. Not everyone chooses a watch based on their ability to pay for it. Multiple time in this video, assertions are made, to people’s ability to choose watches, based on their ability to afford them, and only their ability to afford them. There’s the ‘bit’ about, when friend ask him for a watch suggestion, and he asks them their price range. He proceeds to tell us that he knows really knows they ‘mean less’, because we all know that people exaggerate about what they can afford. He graciously steers them to micro brands, because we all know theirs nothing wrong with them. He even bought one time, but was disappointed with its quality. Don’t count other people’s money. It’s in bad taste and as a retailer will cost you costumers.
Let me get this straight, you picked those 3 watches over the New Gold Deepsea? nah how much is Rolex paying you to not shit on their new Invicta homage?
I think you are wrong on the Rewind. The model was produced to pay tribute to Santos Dumont who you obviously know was from Brazil. In the Southern Hemisphere, a sundial works opposition to one in the Northern Hemisphere. Thats why they made the watch go backwards.
I was just about to post the same thing! Imbeciles like this pouf think the Cartier Rewind concept is just metaphorical bullshit about conventional perceptions of time, when in fact, it is associated with the directional adjustments related to sundial principles across different hemispheres.
Sorry but that is a totally tone deaf and obnoxious comment, that money is the only reason to offer a watch in steel. How about durability and practicality? Precious metal watches are in the minority of watches created so they’re made so you can afford a higher priced item if you want. Steel is the normality, not gold/platinum.
From what I understand is that the comment is within the context of super luxury watches from brands like AP, PP and even Rolex and GS and such, the best they offer are usually the rare metal offerings. Stainless steel varieties of those watches are usually a more affordable option for the "larger" audience. The comment is exclusive to the super luxury only, at least that made sense to me.
I totally agree with Christian. I think SS is an incredibly bad material for a watch. It's the ultimate compromise, so therefore the last thing that you would genuinely choose. Once you go to better things, you can't go back.
no no he's right. all I've ever wanted is a gold or platinum field watch to scratch and beat up, but the damn industry is so cheap they only make them in steel lol
I like the snoopy moon phase, but the ones with just the seconds hand changed was a very blatantly and crass milking of the Moonswatch. Are they going to make the next Scuba 50F after lakes and puddles next in an even lower quality print?
To be fair, I only wear my gold watches on short sleeves as to not scratch them up (I'm an idiot, I know). So I NEED steel watches for all year round and I appreciate the existence of high-end watches made in steel just for that.
The chopard skeleton looks really cheap, skeleton looks like in a Rado or Hamilton and Cartier was the best brand this year at W&W. They released something NEW, not like Omega..
What? Hamilton? Just because you can't see your wrist hair, doesn't mean it's a bad skeleton. The real criticism here is that they simply copied the skeletec movement into the watch.
@@mouisehay930 No it just looks cheap, some small brushing here and there and black polishing. There are no bevels that are polished, it's just a sandblasted plate
He’s talking about a dress watch in steel. You don’t buy your wife a steel wedding band. Look at the context. In think he even mentioned in a previous video that a gold Rolex deep sea makes no sense.
I love christian-I've watched hundreds of T&H videos. But goddamn is this boring, i fell asleep twice and I'm an insomniac. I have to fight against falling asleep just to finish this. Definitely need michael/ana
I think you’re fully wrong about the Bulgari. When you most popular line is based on the fact that it is thin having the worlds thinnest watch carries that narrative. Furthermore it is basically a wash they had already created. They just did a little bit of work with the crystals get back. This would’ve been a new watch from a brand that has never had any interest or claims as far as thinness or lightness goes then I would agree.
I’m a huge Chopard fan, but I think you’re the only person I’ve heard say anything positive about the skeletonized Alpine Eagle. I think it’s atrocious. The pattern of the dial of those watches is what gives the model line its name. Also, it’s a really poor effort at skeletonizing.
I disagree. I don’t think anyone that is into omega gives a shit, and nearly all swatch moon watch buyers are never going to buy an actual moon watch, but for a few it will be a gateway, and that’s cool. Christian is right in saying “I don’t care” to the extent that Swatch could discontinue it in a few years, and months later we’ll all forget it happened, other than recalling the initial frenzy that was cool and good for the watch industry. I have a bigger problem with these childish names that people attach to watches… hulk, smurf, blah bla bla I hate it. I do want a Kermit though. 😃
Never disagreed so much with Theo… I absolutely love the new Tortue and really dig the new Santos Dumont reverse time (or whatever it’s called)…. On the other hand, that alpine eagle is hideous… one of the worst watches of the whole show… even the new CW Twelve X looks better than that…
Jesus Christ this comment section proves that the watch community really is awful at times. Fuck you guys put so much into the denim guy being gone, and now skinny American Mario with precious gold watches can’t have a podcast alone. Christian is the channel now. changes come and go. Give it a shot or enjoy something else. So much negativity everywhere, life’s awesome. Like they say in Denmark life’s a turd and you take a bit of it everyday.
This. So many butt-hurt viewers. Change is a part of any youtube channel and i absolutely support the direction Christian is going. Just enjoy the content!
Presenting a company that burn its own bags rather than have them go on sale, as a positive behaviour is just ridiculous. What an out of touch perspective. To say nothing of the waste aspect of doing that, which is horrendous, what a gross way for a company to try remain "exclusive" and purposely stay out of reach for people. Presenting that as even remotely positive is just foul. This channel has lost touch with the down to earth, every man perspective, ever since Michael left. Eh.. thats an unsub..
Channel sucks without Michael. He was the common man's voice balancing out the snobbery of the ivy league frat boy. Then came Sam who at least seemed like a regular guy, but now he isn't allowed in the shot because it'll take away some of Christian's spotlight. Unsubscribed.
Love worn & wound! Wind-up is awesome because you can try on and talk to the brand owns. Definitely makes you feel more of part of the watch family.
Couldn’t agree more concerning the Tortue. It’s beautiful, however the blue over white enamel is simply next level. Sublime.
you’re literally my comfort person i love you #nkuwan !

It’s one thing if he’s kept in a box somewhere off site but another when he’s sitting right there and not on camera. It’s weird.
Solid shout out to Worn & Wound. They have been consistently producing quality content for many years now.
Thanks for what you said on the Cartier red dial released @ watches of Wonder I thought it was only me......

I miss the stash! It's like AP releasing a round royal oak!😀
Alpine eagle should have done a collaboration with the Dune franchise and released one in bioceramic in a sand colour making it look like a sand worm.
