Not sure about everyone else, but the new and improved 26 minute workshop is my new favourite series 😁
😂👍👍 Don’t get used to it! Back to the usual 13 minutes beam to week…
Best part of this video is watching the bleeped out expletives fly after dropping the bench. Only because I find it comical me being in the exact same situation many times.
Did you change teeth at 25 mins, but keep the same outfit for continuity? What a pro!!!
Lovely video - really enjoyed it - keep up the good work!
Oh yes! Changes shirts for the dentist though. 😂🤷♂️ new me >> 😬
@@10MinuteWorkshop I came here to ask this also, thought I was seeing things and had to rewind a couple of times to check. Kudos on both that commitment to continuity and also the new smile! Keep up the good work Peter 👍
@@adcassim same here! :)
LOL! Dito
Wonderful build Peter. You must show Dennis "Hooked on Wood." He will appreciate it very much. Cheers mate from Down Under, Brian
Thanks Brian! I think Denis may see it, yes! And best wishes from London! 👍
you should do voice overs i love watching your videos not just because they're very informative and well put together but because your commentary is so relaxing you have one of those voices that's just so nice to listen to like david attenborough
Keeping that fire exit nice and accessible, thats how you get super powers
I really like what you accomplish in such a small space. The efficient way you use the space should be a lesson so us all when we complain about only having a 400 sqft garage to work in. Good job Peter!
‘Only’ 400sq ft! 😂😂 And thanks! 👍
Great job Peter!
Superb upgrade Peter. That really is a well thought out use of space. I'm very envious!
brilliant as always Peter, and very insightful. Thank you.
You really should rename this "Grown Man wrestles with router table" lol. Great video Peter it really looks the business. Thanks for sharing it with us! Cheers.
😂 I should! And thanks! 👍
Awesome build & video! Thank you for being so meticulous. You have given me some ideas how to put my lift in & build my fence, too. I can't wait to finish my router table top! Excited to see the next video.
Peter excellent build with some genius additions and just right for a small space , thanks for sharing your tips and tricks.
Great job
Great build!!! But t track needs to be radiused to fit stuggly in the dado. Lol just kidding love your videos 😂
Nice to see you doing what you are very good at - demonstrating builds of larger projects. Nice One!!
Really cool build video Peter, cheers mate
Absolutely fascinating and most enjoyable. Thank you.
Looks marvelous!!
Very well done Peter! Should serve you for along time
watching you maneuver the material into the shop, makes me feel like I'm in good company :-)
Super job!
Thanks Dawn! 👍
Awesome build!
Great build pete. The nice thing about a big strong bench like that is when you aren’t using the router table it serves the added function of bench a good strong bench ☺️
Surfaces are premium in a small shop and to be able to setup the router in minutes/seconds, it’s an asset to your shop. Great build 😎💪
Thats a great wee set up good job
Brilliant job
Another superb video. I want that router system. Nice to know that our Guru swears like the rest of us XXXX.
It was in the script - I had no choice. 🤷♂️😂
Looking good!!
Good job there Peter, the smile on your face when you finally hooked it on the wall was priceless!! Sometimes you just need another pair of hands! Great build thanks for posting, stay safe and well, cheers
The smile of relief! 😂
@@10MinuteWorkshop Know it well !!
Thanks for sharing. Again a proof (?) that you can find solutions for EVERY size of workshop!
Great build, Peter - well worth the wait! Just the encouragement I need to finally build my own. Much obliged 😄👍
Cheers Eddy! 👍
Excellent build! I've got loose plans for a router table; it's going to be way more humble but I'll definitely be keeping yours in mind.
Superb build 👍
Absolutely outstanding work Peter 👏🏻
Cheers Pete! 👍
What a nice piece of kit! Very tempted by the lift / motor combo.
Thanks Dirk! Yes, it's a lovely piece of gear, the Sauter Router 👌 👍
excellent build.. 2 key features I am going to try.. the switch up top is a must.. love it! and The magnet boards are a great idea! 😊 😊 thank you for sharing.
Great work. Always interesting.
Nice build!!

I’m very jealous, great job Peter, that lift plate and motor look the bee’s knee’s
Thanks! Yes, it's one of those 'hard to resist' moments. I did, but, you know, it's new and shiny... 😆 👍
Great video. Just great!
Keep 'er lit Bro!
Very impressed with your build. It looks to me that you have done exactly enough for most DIYers and Pro's alike. Of course things could be upgraded, but why reinvent the wheel. I suddenly feel the need to upgrade my router bench!
Well done, keep up the good work.
Hi Peter! I am new to your Channel and enjoy your vids. I do appreciate your honesty and transparency!
Thanks Marcel, and welcome! 👍
Thank you so much Peter; great build and enjoyable(as always,) viewing....cheers...rr Normandy, Fra.

That's a serious build Peter! well thought out and executed, Looks like the extraction is near perfect and able to perform all sorts. Nice one look forward to the plans...👌
Cheers Graham! 🙌👍
Really nice Peter, I routed a t track in my router fence for feather boards and stops - works really well.
Nice! 👍
That router lift is well engineered, it looks awesome. Great router table build Peter, my heart missed a beat when you dropped it. Glad your OK, it looks well waxed up.Tony.
Mine too! Thanks Tony! 👍
One of your very best videos
Thank you! 👍
Amazing what can be achieved In a smallish workshop , great work Peter , lifter looks very well made as well 👍
Thanks! Yes it's a great lift! 💪 👍
Great build the plate looks amazing different to what you normally see. And such a great idea to use magnets on the fence. I think you’ve started a trend there. Awesome channel looking forward to your next build
Thgank you! Next big one will be a DIY MFT, but I've a cabinet to make for this bench first! 👍
Impressive!
very educational, thanks
Thank you!
Excellent
Hi peter,
Well yet again what a bloody awesome build, you cease to amaze me mate what a great video thanks for sharing this with us Peter, looking forward to the final part of the build when you build the Drawers 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Carl! 👍
Just came on this video, although I often search out your channel. Very nice design. I appreciate how you think out so much, but are willing to alter as you go.
Thanks! 👍
Well, you have excelled yourself with this build Peter. It did look like a shed-load of work, but I imagine it will give you great satisfaction and enjoyment in the years ahead.
Thanks Norman! Took longer than I expected, but totally worth it. 👍
A lot work but well worth it. really well built and will last for years good luck Peter hope you enjoy it
Thanks Mark! 👍
Excellent work Peter! Expected... Greetings from Portugal
Thanks Luis! Best wishes from London! 👍
Another great video. Very nice router set up. Lining up those peanuts was awesome. And dropping the top reminded me of me😂
Thanks! 👍
Good job, Peter. I really enjoyed watching this longer build. I need to upgrade my portable/bodge job router table out ASAP. It works, but its crude. I don't have space for a dedicate area but what you have done has given me a few ideas. Cheers 👍
Thanks! Yes, my old 'bodge job' lasted for ~15 years and worked great! but this is sooo pretty! 😂
A Router you call it!!! More like a modern Spindle Moulding Machine Peter 👍
Awesome Build.
Would love to see some sort of professional quality T track fencing with feather boards and see through spring loaded gaurd on it to enhance your safety + also to complement the professional job you have done on building it.
TOP CLASS THIS IS..
Can't wait to see the next video 🙂
Thanks! There’s more to come, for sure! 👍👍
Amazing build, big up!
Thank you! 🙌👍
Excellent build, film and presentation. Well worth the wait. I startled my dog as I gasped in response to you dropping the torsion box. 😂 We’ve all done something like that before. Cant wait until next week! All the best 👍
Thanks Blair! 👍 Hope the dog’s over it by now!
Thnx! Very nice and inspirational!.
Thank you!
Great build Peter, nice quality gear.
Cheers Paul! 👍
Simply awesome work and well spent time building a bench that will provide years of service 😎✅✅
Thank you! And I should flippin' hope so! 😂 👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop 😂😂😂
Nice work Peter! A big howdy from Texas.
Thanks Ron, and best wishes from London! 👍
Peter when are you doing a video of you sorting out the room next door. My heart is in my mouth each time you carry a sheet out of there, paranoid you are going to trip!!
To have the convenience of a lift must be amazing, I have struggled trying to push up the router from underneath in a more basic router table that would be hard to imagine. Yes that router insert does seem and look to be a thing of beauty.
Thanks Peter. Honestly, if you saw the previous video where I stripped out the old bench & router, it was about as basic as it gets. Love the new one, but the old one did the job for a decade and more. 👍
When I wanted a torsion box, I went to Bunnings and bought a cheap internal door. It wouldn't do that job, but with a sheet of thick MDF on top, it might.
I wanted mine for a bed inside Tin Can where it's fine, affixed and hinged to the side and some fold down legs that, when up, hide the bedding. A lightweight foam mattress makes be-making easy.
Nice video and great build!
Thanks! 👍
i was marvelling at your ingenuity......until it came to attaching the carefully constructed bench top to the wall !!..from you i would have expected a wheeled scissor lift contraption for flawless fitting.
Hi Peter. I have said it before and I'll say it again. You are my most expensive UA-cam relationship. Just ordered a lift and router from Sautershop. Have been looking for a set up for a long time. For some reason I missed this video earlier. You made my decision easy and 5% cheaper (thank you!). Not sticking it to you (UK), but the B2B VAT saved me another 19%. You know being part of that EU thingie.
Top drawer mate! 👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
"About as flat as a flat thing" - Peter Millard, 2021. 😂😂 Great video as always!
Please show more of the untidy side of your workshop. It makes me feel so much better about mine :)
😂 👍
Great work as always mate! And nice smile :D
Thanks! The smile cost a lot more than the motor & lift… 😂😂👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop It is never cheap, but looks good! Well done!
Thanks for sharing so much with us, I am about to start focusing on furniture making and try to migrate to it as full time in the next couple of years, you have thought me a lot and I am very grateful for it!
u are a very skilled maker i had vast experience working in giant factories in china your skills really rocks!!! im an international consultant designer and i love what you do...
BRAVO!
Hi Peter, an amazing build and video as usual, I feel your pain working on your own, occasionally it's nice to have another pair of hands. I built my whole new workbench on top of a temporary bench I was using then realised it was way to heavy to lift on my own so had to enlist the help of a friendly neighbour to lift it down. My router plate has 19mm radius corners so a little bit more awkward to router out for the plate but I'm getting there. I've gone for an Incra plate and their clean sweep insert plates so will be adding dust extraction underneath as well as in the Fence. Look forward to the plans coming out as I haven't decided yet whether to make or buy a fence 😁. I've drilled all my dog holes in my Bench already using the Parf Guide system which is expensive but well worth it. I'm imagining you will be using your Festool rails for that. Keep up the amazing work, I need to start relying on glue and brad nails a bit more LOL 😆
Thanks Colin! Yes, who knew after all these years that glue & nails could be so effective! 😂👍
Nicely done.
Thanks!
@@10MinuteWorkshop I was trying to work out how I could fit in "I hope you don't take a fence but..." But couldn't.
@@BensWorkshop 😂👍
Hi Peter, thought your little oops only happened in my workshop 😆
Steve
Sadly, not Steve! 😂👍
Great build Peter! Still sometimes wonder why people don't get a (used) spindle moulder instead of a router table given how expensive they can become with all the different parts.
A good router table - quality lift, powerful motor/router and quality fence - is a better tool for most jobs in cabinet making and light joinery. Quicker set up, quieter, far less tiring, mobile or it can be mounted into workbench, easy dust management with vacuum cleaner type extractor etc...
As for the cost of spindle moulder, dont forget spindle heads, cutters, servicing/part replacement and you may be inheriting someone elses problems for as long as you have it, especially if buying 1k moulder (the cost of this lift and motor and table materials). It needs proper dust extraction set up. Also space can be an issue for some.
Actually most folks use a lot cheaper router table set-ups than this and have great results.
Hi Peter. Have been watching your videos for a long time, and have learnt so much from you.
That is a great router table you built, well done. The router lift and motor look nice.
You also got time to get some dental work done I see😜.
Keep the videos coming.
All the best.
Thanks Tariq! And yes, lots of dental work going on, this is just the latest ‘tip of the iceberg’ that’s visible. 😬
those sauter shop router inserts look great, i just wish they would slot the plate for below table dust collection like incra offers
Most enjoyable 👍👍
Glad you think so! 👍
The sequence at 1:06 was strangely therapeutic - just seeing someone else, (let alone you, Peter,) wrestling off-cuts through a small workshop made me think, "I'm OK"
I seem to remember you starting this Channel with a bet about reaching a 1000 subscribers. Look at where you are now!
Lovely stuff. And still as inspiring .
Thanks Antoine! I hope I never forget the thrill of hitting 1000 subscribers! 😆👍👍
@@10MinuteWorkshop Indeed! You made it almost look easy. :-) All your previous professions come together in this UA-cam stuff.
Great build Peter, really enjoyed this one. Bit jealous of the lift, although my DIY version holds quite steady as well👍😁
All the best mate
Thanks Tomasz! Yes, the lift is a thing of beauty, and quite possible wasted on me, but new and shiny, right?? 😆👍
It was worth waiting for! Good Job as always...... I did just from my chair when you dropped the top. Good thing you had your steel toes on :-)
Thanks! Yes, that was a ‘moment’ alright! 😂👍
I'm really enjoying your channel - I just found it recently.
On behalf of my wife, the potter, however, I am honor bound to ask: Where is your dust mask, sir???
Thank you. My dust mask is hanging in a hook with the rest of my PPE, ready for when I’m using a tool that doesn’t have built-in extraction. 👍
