Love your channel. Thank you. I've just bought this case, and noticed straight away the lack of the two gasket rings on the crown. Therefore I personally would disregard the "200 metres waterproof" claim.
Thanks for a nice review. I was chosing between this or San Martin BB58 homage in grey. Decided to take a San Martin but this configuration you have, is very very clean and good.
Hey! Love your channel and the detail you go in on modding as I am hoping to build and mod myself one day too. You're probably aware, but the Stanly watch store seems to have closed down on Ali. I luckily managed to grab an oem SPB187 case and bracelet (I think its SPB207 since it says boutique exclusive on the back) before their web page went blank. Do you know what might have happened to them? I'm assuming selling oem parts is a double edged sword and could have been risky for them, but I really want to get my hands on the gorgeous srpg59 mini tuna case as those were listed on their site. And lastly I want to thank you for sharing their page on your last video! It feels so nice to have the oem spb187 chassis and bracelet on wrist for a fraction of the cost.
Well got the case. On my copy, bezel tends to stick at one location as you rotate it around. The side brushing is abit courser compared to the genuine case. The Diashield coating gives the genuine case a darker tone which you will notice when the cases are side by side.

@@josephsanpedro5056 Yes, i know that much. I was referring to the wire that's used for the clicks. Every time i press it back on it either won't move the bezel at all, or it locks up at some point during the rotation. EDIT: I was able to get it back on, the bent part of the wire that goes into the hole wasn't at a decent 90 Degree angle so it was obstructing the bezel rotation for some reason. I bent it to a better angle and although it snapped off after multiple bend attempts... bending a new bit allowed the wire to sit flush enough for the bezel to fit correctly (albeit a bit stiffer than before but still workable).
In one of your other videos I see that the oem spb185 case accepts sloped skx inserts. Since I realized these cases use different types of crystal, Is it also possible to use sloped or flat skx inserts in this heimdallr spb185? What is the insert size on it? Also great videos and great builds. Thanks. 👍
I just tested it now with a couple of spare cases (the one in this video) and it looks like you can fit SKX007 inserts in there, both flat and sloped. The sloped leaves a slight gap (that you could get your nail under) but its minimal and the flat one fits quite nicely, but they do require to be friction fit in there because its a VERY tight fit. On the up side that means that you can skip using adhesive if you want. Just be careful if you're pushing in ceramic ones with such force since it could damage them. But I just tried it with a ceramic sloped and a flat aluminum insert and they both fit snug and look decent.
Looks great mate. Where did you get the bezel insert from? Was that an Aliexpress job too? *ignore that. Just seen it comes as part of the package. Great value Great to see your channel picking up more subscribers. Keep up the quality content 👍🏻
What a timely mod video! I have this exact case in my AliExpress basket right now and planned to get it anyway. Now I might have to buy 2 of them 😉👍. Now, it’s good to know about the Heimdallr MM300 bracelet as well. Will certainly keep that in mind as I typically prefer bracelets over straps. Excellent video. Thanks!

I just tried it. It does, but it has a slight bit of play to it when moving it up and down. But that's the same as the OEM bracelet. And the end lugs do stick out the same as shown on the aftermarket case in this video, but the simple answer is yes, it will fit.
An amazing video and a great build! Congrats on that. I am looking forward to order a SPB185 case from that seller for my build now. As a future video idea: would be great to see the SKX007 case quality from the same seller :D
Amazing, just what I wanted to see and build, thank you so much! If you could help me with few things, do you know is it possible to swap the bezel and bezel click assembly to oem Seiko from SKX007? Is it same size as in Namoki? Also, I am not fond of arched crystal, so I would rather use a Seiko hardlex from SKX, woild that also fit? Thank you so much in advance if you can answer me.
Thanks for watching! I didn't dismantle or measure the bezel/crystal on this case, but seeing as its based off of the MM200 (SPB185) and not the SKX I'd say the crystal isn't compatible with the SKX007 one. That being said, if you were prepared to remove the crystal and measure it, there's probably a flat piece you could source to replace it. As for the Bezel, these use a completely different mechanism for the bezel which wouldn't be swappable with OEM SKX bezels, and they use a retention wire that only needs one hole, so using a click ring is also not possible. So for the crystal, yes, if you source a piece that is the correct diameter (that you'd have to either ask the seller or measure yourself as I've not done so) but the Bezel isn't changeable. That being said, the bezel action is alright for the price of this case, and isn't dissapointing.
@@ItsAnotherWatch Clear, so it is completely different than Namoki where I could use SKX parts. Which one do you prefer? I really love all but domed crystal on chinese guy... I have here a complete SKX171, I would use the dial, chapter ring and 7s26 movement from it, pair of MM hands and I also have an extra brand new OEM SKX007 bezel, as well as famous One Second Closer coin edge bezel, so maybe Namoki would be better solution for me? Strapcode MM should also work on chinese case? Sorry for so many questions and thank you so much
@@72duvla Yeah. If you're looking for that MM200/MM300 look and want to use SKX parts, the Namoki parts are the way to go. www.namokimods.com/collections/skx007-cases/products/nmk908-mm300-skx007-srpd-watch-case-polished-finish?ref=itsanotherwatchYT
@@ItsAnotherWatch Thanks so much, I thought so too :) Absolutely the last question, If you were to have just one of those two, which one would you choose for yourself, chinese case with SKX171 dial and steel bezel or Namoki case with same dial and black (either SKX or One Second Closer) bezel?
@@72duvla If you're going with the SKX171 dial I'd go for the higher quality option and use the Namoki Case. Its a beautiful dial and it deserves a great quality case. Besides, the case in this video isn't designed for a chapter ring so the MM300 case is the best choice. And yeah, I'd use the coin edge bezel too. I'm actually doing a SKX171 mod video in a few weeks myself, with a coin edge bezel.
Have you seen the Shirakaba White Birch Tree dials from Lucius Atelier? I haven’t seen an SKX mod on UA-cam going for that Grand Seiko White Birch look yet and with that Lucius Atelier dial, a polished bezel and GS dauphine hands I think you could pull it off. You would be the first to do it in a UA-cam video as well. Could be great content. Think about it!
Great tutorial 👍 I've got the same case, but have a problem with the movement having too much play in the case it's actually loose it has the black surround on the movement, would the grey surround cure this. Also the rotor catches the case back? Any advice would be appreciated thanks
Yeah, it would seem the Black spacer is also a tiny bit thinner than the grey NH36 spacer. That would allow it to move more freely, and it would allow it to fall to touch the rotor against the caseback. You'd have to replace the black spacer with the grey one. Which would involve removing the dial, hands, calendar plates and then after swapping the ring, replacing everything. You can buy the grey spacer here: www.namokimods.com/collections/tools/products/nh-grey-movement-spacer-ring?ref=itsanotherwatchYT
Hi, I got mine on AliExpress but that listing is long gone now. But you can get the dial from here: weezmods.com/en-gb/products/seiko-spb143-oem-dial You can get the hands from here: www.namokimods.com/en-gb/collections/hands/products/watch-hands-62mas-polished-finish?ref=itsanotherwatchYT
G,day Mate, Great channel. Very entertaining content. You have inspired me to build this watch but I'm having trouble finding the bracelet you use. Would you happen to have a link where I could purchase it from?. Keep up the good work Cheers
Not that I'm aware of. However, you can get another aftermarket MM200 case here that uses a regular click ring type bezel: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004256998080.html The only downside is that it doesn't seem to have an option for the MM200 style bezel insert. (but I bought one of these to replace the other so I just used the bezel from the inferior case) The clicking isn't as snappy as OEM cases though, much smoother but still uses a regular click ring like OEM cases. The aftermarket mm200 bracelet also has a bit more of a gap on it when attached to it(pretty much like the OEM bracelet to be honest) and as an added bonus this better case has a signed crown.
SKX007 inserts might fit if you don't mind a slight gap between the bezel and crystal. I don't know about using an SKX crystal, they're probably different in diameter so I'll go out on a limb and say you're stuck with the crystal that comes with it.
At the video you try putting a flat insert as I can see.Do you think any skx007 SLOPED bezel inserts will fit there ? I am thinking of putting a 12 hour bezel in there. Or maybe if I grind the inner bottom edge of a flat skx insert could that fit ??
Yes, sloped SKX inserts will fit. In fact, i've tested a few regular SKX bezel inserts and they do actually fit, just with a slight gap between the insert and the crystal. Here's me showing it on a OEM case (which will work on this aftermarket case too) ua-cam.com/video/6pGNUhn-e2I/v-deo.html .
It seems to be almost the same as an SKX007 insert, but the insert for this case has an indent on the underside of it to account for the raised inner metal ring of the bezel around the edge of the crystal. So you MIGHT be able to get away with a SLOPED insert, but I can't say for sure because I didn't have the foresight to test a sloped one with this case. So guess you could try the sloped metal 37mm Planet ocean insert, but it would be a gamble.
I just received the case and fitted it with an OEM SPB185 dial and I love it!!! I was wondering if the OEM bracelet will actually fit this case? I‘m considering the Heimdallr bracelet though I‘m not the biggest fan of its look. Have you tried any other aftermarket options? Thanks for you great work!
I haven't tried any other bracelets other than the Heimdallr and the OEM SPB185 bracelet on it. Both fit as they should. It seems the case matches the shape of the original even for the fitting of the bracelet. So if a bracelet is advertised to fit an SPB185 case, it will probably fit this case.
I think I‘ll go with the OEM then, I just love the look. Thanks for the information! By the way, Heimdallr has recently released a titanium MM200 case on Ali, would love to a review of that ;-)
@@lamberthofer8100No problem! Glad to help. And thats interesting to hear, can you link me to it? I did a quick search on the Heimdallr store and couldn't find it.
Thanks. Unfortunately I didn't measure the stem again before I glued it into the crown (silly mistake I know). Since my initial measurement of 6.63mm was a bit too short. I'd cut it to no shorter than 6.7mm. But to play it safe, I'd go to 6.8mm or even 6.9mm and file it down from there. My crown action wasn't the smoothest when I was done, so maybe yours will end up better. Let me know what measurement you end up with!
@@ItsAnotherWatch ehats interesting is I forgot to order a stem for mine. I decided to take the one that comes with the movement, the one with the plastic crown and try to unscrew the plastic end and try it. It amazingly was the exact length I needed for the build, its was spot on perfect... saved me alot of time trimming stems to get the right lenght
Can someone tell me the inner diameter of the dial area of this case? I'm doing a build wherein I will attempt to incorporate a chapter ring and need to know what size to try buying on aliexpress. ty
Hi everyone. I'm curious if anyone has a recommendation for what type of market to use trying to cover a unapplied logo. Thanks for your help and suggestions. George
I was thinking the same thing. Where did he acquire the grey dial? All I found was black sunburst. Did find 62MAS lime hue version on ebay and returned it due to 3 indices fell off cleaning dial during install using rodico
Probably not, maybe with a bit of modification you might be able to put on a Pilots bezel, but it has different dimensions to the SKX for the bezel fit. Not to mention a different method of rotation (for the unidirectional clicks).
Is the heimdallr bracelet lighter theb the Original spb185 mm200 bracelet? I really like the quality of the seiko bracelet, but I hate that it feels so hefty so I never wear it. If you say the heimdallr is lighter I would definately try it out
I had a quick look at both bracelets, (although i don't have a scale to weigh them or anything) and honestly the weight between the OEM SPB185 bracelet and the heimdallr mm300 bracelet doesn't feel substantially different. But I can recommend the cheap bracelet shown in this video: ua-cam.com/video/lRbaV0ZBZ20/v-deo.html . It's noticeably lighter than the OEM. The only downside besides it feeling cheaper than the original is the colour of the metal. Its lighter than the OEM because of what I think is a lack of scratch resistant coating. Check out the video if you're curious. It's an update on the build in this video.
It might be possible, but the issue is with how the click wire works compared to a click ring. The click ring presses up against the top of the underside of the bezel, slotting between grooves in it to lock it in place. The click wire brushes up against ridges on the side of the bezel locking it in place. So a click ring wouldn't work existing bezel. I have since replaced this case with a version that just comes with a click ring (and a signed crown even) but unfortunately all the listings for them don't come with an MM200 style bezel which is a bummer. (of course this wasn't an issue for me since I had bought both cases but still.) Here's the link to the replacement I bought: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004256998080.html There might be a better price around though, so search for MM200 cases on AliExpress and see if you see the same one with the same style bezel and signed crown. As for the click ring itself, its a smoother one than what you'd get in an SKX style watch, but it is still definitely a click ring.
I don't personally have any experience with the NH34 but from what I've gathered its the same as the other NH movements apart from maybe needing dials with a slightly larger center hole to accommodate the GMT function. So it should fit the same as an NH35/36 would. If you really want to be sure about it, I'd recommend asking on the SeikoMods sub reddit, I'm sure someone there will know the answer.
I put an NH34 in mine and it worked. The only issue I had was making the hole bigger on an OEM SPB 187 dial, and not having a 24H bezel insert available.
*Sir i dont know if my comment can make attention of yours. * Can you please make a video of pilot bezel mod of this aliexpress mm200 casing??? I have seen your haimdallr skx007 pilot bezel mod.. I am in love with that. But now i find mm200's lug is more attractive... Sir can you please make a video?? Please please
That has been something I've been interested in doing. I wish I could just put out a video of that tomorrow but It will probably be a while until that happens. Although I can say that it would work perfectly on an MM300 conversion case from Namoki mods which uses SKX007 parts. I actually wanted to do a White/silver Sary055 dial, Grand seiko style build like that but could never source the dial. Anyways, I will put it on my list!
I see your point, but I didn't mention it because the MM200 cases don't have a chapter ring anyway. Since the minute track is on the dial. And usually cases with a plain brushed chapter ring can look like the dial is too deep into the case anyway. The original crystal actually is very similar in this regard, its just that the Crystal on the OEM case has a slight bevel to the edge, whereas these aftermarket cases don't since its double domed. So it actually isn't a gap its just the different edge on the crystal compared to OEM. Another aftermarket MM200 case I have also just uses a flat edge to edge crystal instead of a beveled edge, which eliminates that double minute track look, which I honestly prefer.

@@ItsAnotherWatch Thanks so much, I thought so too :)
Absolutely the last question, If you were to have just one of those two, which one would you choose for yourself, chinese case with SKX171 dial and steel bezel or Namoki case with same dial and black (either SKX or One Second Closer) bezel?
@@72duvla If you're going with the SKX171 dial I'd go for the higher quality option and use the Namoki Case. Its a beautiful dial and it deserves a great quality case. Besides, the case in this video isn't designed for a chapter ring so the MM300 case is the best choice. And yeah, I'd use the coin edge bezel too. I'm actually doing a SKX171 mod video in a few weeks myself, with a coin edge bezel.
Please mm200 case build + review. Thanks
Great tutorial 👍
I've got the same case, but have a problem with the movement having too much play in the case it's actually loose it has the black surround on the movement, would the grey surround cure this.
@@ItsAnotherWatch thank you for the advice I'll get one on order. Thanks again for the quick response much appreciated 👍
@@ItsAnotherWatch thanks for the advice, I got the grey movement surround and it fits perfect, thanks 👍
Hi I asked you this question already but where did you get the grey sunburst dial from? And how much do you think you paid. Thanks ray
Hi, I got mine on AliExpress but that listing is long gone now. But you can get the dial from here: weezmods.com/en-gb/products/seiko-spb143-oem-dial
You can get the hands from here: www.namokimods.com/en-gb/collections/hands/products/watch-hands-62mas-polished-finish?ref=itsanotherwatchYT
G,day Mate,
Great channel. Very entertaining content. You have inspired me to build this watch but I'm having trouble finding the bracelet you use. Would you happen to have a link where I could purchase it from?.
Keep up the good work
Cheers
Thanks. I'm glad you like my content. Here's the link to the Heimdallr bracelet I used: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002391036802.html

Thank you 🙂👍
I appreciate your time. Looking forward to your next video
Can you convert the wire retention bezel to a click ring type that the Seiko uses?
Not that I'm aware of. However, you can get another aftermarket MM200 case here that uses a regular click ring type bezel: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004256998080.html The only downside is that it doesn't seem to have an option for the MM200 style bezel insert. (but I bought one of these to replace the other so I just used the bezel from the inferior case)
The clicking isn't as snappy as OEM cases though, much smoother but still uses a regular click ring like OEM cases. The aftermarket mm200 bracelet also has a bit more of a gap on it when attached to it(pretty much like the OEM bracelet to be honest) and as an added bonus this better case has a signed crown.
Not modded before but I am tempted. Will an skx007 bezel insert and crystal fit this case?
Looking to pick up this case, any specs on the bezel insert? I am looking to make a Planet Ocean homage from this beefcake!

I couldn't find the case at the Heimdallr store as well but I found at another shop at Ali. Price an reviews seem ok.
Awesome mod! Whats the appropiate size for the stem?
Apologies, I mistyped those numbers the 1st time, so I've edited that reply.
George
Where did u get that grey dial im looking for it for a long time but couldnt find it please do let me know accordingly
I was thinking the same thing. Where did he acquire the grey dial? All I found was black sunburst. Did find 62MAS lime hue version on ebay and returned it due to 3 indices fell off cleaning dial during install using rodico
Do you think that case will fit any other SKX007 bezel ?
@@ItsAnotherWatch I already watched all your videos :-) but thanks for the quick response, definately gonna check it out on aliexpress
Its possible to buy one from you?
Stunning
Have you or anyone here replaced the retention wire with a click spring in these after market cases?
It might be possible, but the issue is with how the click wire works compared to a click ring. The click ring presses up against the top of the underside of the bezel, slotting between grooves in it to lock it in place. The click wire brushes up against ridges on the side of the bezel locking it in place. So a click ring wouldn't work existing bezel.
I have since replaced this case with a version that just comes with a click ring (and a signed crown even) but unfortunately all the listings for them don't come with an MM200 style bezel which is a bummer. (of course this wasn't an issue for me since I had bought both cases but still.)
Here's the link to the replacement I bought: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004256998080.html
There might be a better price around though, so search for MM200 cases on AliExpress and see if you see the same one with the same style bezel and signed crown.
As for the click ring itself, its a smoother one than what you'd get in an SKX style watch, but it is still definitely a click ring.
Do you believe a NH34 would fit this case?
I don't personally have any experience with the NH34 but from what I've gathered its the same as the other NH movements apart from maybe needing dials with a slightly larger center hole to accommodate the GMT function. So it should fit the same as an NH35/36 would. If you really want to be sure about it, I'd recommend asking on the SeikoMods sub reddit, I'm sure someone there will know the answer.
@@ItsAnotherWatch Thank you very much for the reply.
I put an NH34 in mine and it worked. The only issue I had was making the hole bigger on an OEM SPB 187 dial, and not having a 24H bezel insert available.
Hey Peeps, FYI, the Heimdaller MM300 bracelet will not fit the Namoki or CT/SM MM300 conv. cases, a big bummer.
*Sir i dont know if my comment can make attention of yours. *
Can you please make a video of pilot bezel mod of this aliexpress mm200 casing???
Why not to mention a gap between the crystal and the dial. It's way more big than on original case. It's feels like chapter ring is missing.
I wish I could do this sort of modding. I have a fear that I’ll just be rubbish and waste a lot of money.
This case comes with its own matching bracelet at around $ 28,00 to 35,00 depending if sale is on.
Hi mate. I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these cases from Aliexpress plus one of the Heimdallr bracelets (but a Jubilee one)
