To be honest, I don’t watch watch content on UA-cam for entertainment often but your videos are an exception. I really enjoy you’re narration style and personality. All in all a great channel.
I think the RED tip on the sweep hand and the hand style looks really cool! The classic Seiko Diver's hands with the needle pointer aids with precision and accuracy and maximum legibility... This is very important to diver where poor light and turbid water make it a challenge to read dive time easily! For any other purpose, it still helps a lot being able to read the exact time. Loving this beautiful watch with the sunburst blue dial!!
My friend I really enjoyed watching this video and your last one! The editing and quality is very good and very entertaining :) I also liked the music very much. Looking forward for more content from you!
I absolutely love how this looks... goes it's time for me to try to price out this build and see if I have the budget to do it right now 🙂 And after looking it up, looks like they sell ones already put together cheaper than buying all the parts to build it.
I rounded off the crown guards on my skx years ago. Best thing I ever did that watch is soo comfortable now. I was bought a seiko 5 srpd for my birthday and haven’t done it yet. Feel bad as it was a present
Damn, just found your channel a few days ago and i saw all your videos already. The quality fo your edition and the way you present everything man this is superb, new sub who also love watches!!
love the content your putting out. I simply cant believe you haven't blown up yet. You will....believe me, word gets around in the watch community quick, and with the quality of your editing it's inevitable. I'm rootin for ya.....
I've watched this videos about once a week for the last 2 months or so. I want to build this watch at some point. 😂 I don't have an SKX, but want one. And it seems the only way to get one is to build it myself.
I built a 007 with green hands in a cheap case with steel bezel insert. I sold it and now miss it! I thought the end result was pretty nice, especially on the jubilee
For some reason the dial in the beginning and at the end seem to look different, I really liked the way it looked in the beginning of the video, seemed glossy and flat but at the end it looked just like a regular seiko dial
Very great video, i watched many others of your channel. What i wanna know is when you press down the crystal into the case how do you know it is properly installed ? Is there a noise, a click ?
HELP : Bezel problem with an SKX homage (Aliexpress) It was a real bitch to pop out, finally did it but now it remains lose and falls off. It kind of snaps back in but doesn't remain in place. I tried with a press and it still falls off. It's like the bezel inner ring went from way to small to way to big for the case. What can I do?
I can only assume the chapter ring had adhesive used which was not mentioned, otherwise with the second markers on that ring it could move and show out of alignment?
The chapter rings have a bump underneath them at the 12 position that aligns with a notch on the case to keep it aligned. Apologies for not mentioning it here. I guess I've mentioned it in other videos and I figured I also mentioned it here, but it seems I didn't. You can see the notch in the case around 6:05 .
@@ItsAnotherWatch The chapter ring for the 1 watch I have modded did not have a 12oclock notch but also is all black no notches. Makes sense now. Thanks!
I find it absurd that in such a delicate instrument it is as precious as a watch you have to force yourself almost with a chisel and mallet to separate the bezel from the case
For the moment, a simple Dial and Hand swap for a SNZH55 to make a Fifty Five Fathoms, and an Orange Planet Ocean SKX build with either a SARY057 dial or a Stargate SRP495 Dial (if i can get hold of one for a reasonable price). I'm also planning on changing the watch from this video to a SBDC051 dial and 62MAS Hands. I may also do a Submariner style SKX013 build in the future, but these builds aren't cheap to do unfortunately.
@@ItsAnotherWatch waiting for a dial to complete my Tudor Snowflake Sub 9411 homage project. Good look with yours and I'm looking forward to watching those videos 😎 I'm especially interested in that 38mm sub. I reckon it would feel and look awesome in a thinner case, tho.
@@andrei-cosmin.popa85 Yeah, its more to try out building an SKX013 and seikomods.com has all the parts right here in the UK for convenience. That and I already built a two-tone gold Submariner with an NH36 in a sub case (albeit a cheap case) and I quite like the chunkyness of the SKX's. I've also thought about doing a Tudor Blackbay build myself, so I hope yours goes well!
Thanks for this video. The watch looks amazing. My old SKX007 from 1997 got a broken movement, and I think to upgrade it in this way. I’m just curious to fit the stem, but have to order some stems. Love the blue dial and chapter ring.
All in it was around £280. Here's a list of the parts and their prices: Case £46 (one second closer) NH36 (with black date wheels) £44 (AliExpress) MM300 Bezel £29 (NamokiMods) Aftermarket SKX Dial £35 (eBay) Skx007 Chapter Ring £15 (eBay) But this is the same price for NamokiMods versions Flat Sapphire Crystal £11 (AliExpress) Crown (+stem) £20 (NamokiMods) Skx Hands £7.80 (eBay) (I got these from my Heimdallr mod but this is how much they are currently on eBay) Bezel Insert £12 (eBay) (I got these from my Heimdallr mod but this is how much they are currently on eBay) Case Back £25 (£12 for plain one) Had to replace the cheap £10 one I used in this video for one that works with the NH36 grey spacer from Crystal Times) Bracelet £35 (eBay) If you need to buy gaskets separately it might increase the cost a bit more, NamokiMods do a set of gaskets and click spring for £16. But if you were to get the case parts from them you'll get the gaskets included.
They're all pretty generic tools to be honest. If you search "Watch Crystal Press" on amazon the red one is the one I have. I'm pretty sure they're all the same thing. The hand press tools are just cheap ones I got on eBay and the rest of my tools are in a generic watch tools kit you can buy on ebay or amazon. And the most important tool of all... RODICO.
@@ItsAnotherWatch thanks for the response mate! I always hear people say cheap tools are not worth it but then again they always have affiliate links for expensive tools lol. Absolutely beautiful watch!
@@ItsAnotherWatch Awesome, I'll come back and watch again in 4k as your camera work is great. I picked up one of those £35 Seiko engraved jubilees for my SKX from eBay too, luckily mine was faultless, hopefully your gets sorted soon as they're a cracking deal at that price. Also I think the red tipped second hand looks really good, works well with the red text on the dial.
@@Huwberts_Emporium I'm glad you agree! (about the second hand). Good to hear that you got the same bracelet without problems. It gives me more hope that the one I had was just a defective piece. I got the replacement bracelet today, and I haven't been able to replicate the issue so I think I'm in the clear, but time will tell. If it holds up though, it really is a great bracelet for the price!
That red-tipped second hand is perfection.
Thanks a ton. I am recovering from a stroke. ( lived.) if my left hand, currently paralyzed, starts to work, I resolve to fix/mod all that I own.

Could you make a video showing how to remove the bezel from the case

That looks really good, too bad that the jubilee didn't work. That second hand does look really nice.
Doesn't it need csee clips to attach movement to the case?
In theory, this case could be used to make a 45 degree dial watch? Somewhat of a Vacheron Historiques American 1921 homage
Awesome video, super high quality production! 👌 The watch turned out beautiful! Curious how much a build like this would cost?
Great video.
