Here is a tip even more for those who are financially challenged. Look for upcoming property tax/sheriff sales. Food stamps buy fruit trees. Pick something you like but others like more. The will sell faster than you can eat them. Start small. The hare doesn’t win the race. Now excuse me, I have 20” of rain to mow for because I need to go buy goats from my neighbors still 😅

My second cousin and his family was outside the courthouse early one cold morning to buy their property, it was an absolute dump, trash everywhere house decaying, 4 trashed out mobile homes lying around, but they got it for cheap enough they paid cash.
Then they spent a couple years getting it cleaned up and fixing the house..
But now 5 years or so later they have an ok house, and the property is cleaned up and the shop fixed.
Good deal but a ton of work.

My land. They only allow 6 months in a camper. Tight on money. It will take longer to build. Simple. Before 6 months is up. Take the camper to a lake or park for a couple of days and go back. Time is reset. 6 months straight is full-time. Every 4 months. Take a two or more vacation. Until the house is built.

Heres a tip for people, if you can find a restaurant that workers get a shift meal, then try and get a job cleaning the restaurant after close, 7 days a week 2.5-3 hours a day and a free meal,
Thats my second job right now and its cut my food bill down to almost nothing, plus i make 250~ a week.

We bought a property site unseen in NE AZ. 5 acres was 10k, but sadly 17k to finance. That was our only option, people were snapping up land at the time. When we finally made our way up there we met with a "neighbor" who clued us in to buying other properties in the area who have lapsed on their taxes. I personally wouldn't do that, since property taxes are a scam and I'm not just going to swipe someone's property out from under them, but it is a legal option. Should we ever make the move, my husband works remotely and we could get star link to support that. In Apache County there are few restrictions if any. No permits required unless you wish to have insurance. We would rely on rain water collection and storage with a filtration system, and a composting toilet that turns your waste into methane gas that can be used in place of Propane. They're pricey toilets, but you don't have to worry about buying gas. We think about it a lot, but with my husband being an only child of a woman with early/mid stage Alzheimers, we're going to be the ones caring for her. Living 4 hours away just isn't going to work right now. Which is sad because I think it's now or never. At the very least, we have a bug out location.

Thank you for the information your giving to help others. My first property I purchased at 22, I had nothing. That was MANY moons ago. The point is, if you want it bad enough, sacrifices are worth it. Do your research on the area that you’re looking as far as permitting, right away and road conditions.

Incredibly inspirational video. Thank you so much for putting it together. So many good points of view. You are 100% right ... the top two 'excuses' are fear of due diligence and actually buying the land. I can see that now. Information is power ... and once you know what your restrictions are, you can plan around them. Once you actually buy the land ... then you're super motivated because it's your dirt, not someone else's. Totally appreciate the diversification points you made for income. Love the video. So grateful

this video is such a good lesson. Truth is - if anyone else is doing "it", you can do it too. First you have to "want to",and then "you have to try". And we always find what it is we're looking for. If you're looking for "I can't do it", that's exactly what you'll find. But, if you're looking for "how can I", that's what you'll find. Thank you for sharing your results and your want-to's with us!!!

Many of the people I know that are very well off don't show it off. Most of them have vehicles around 10 years old. Most dress in modest work clothes.
The people driving the newest cars and flashy clothing are usually the ones who are in debt up to their eyeballs and are one mishap from bankruptcy.
I make a very good salary, my vehicle is 15 years old and has over 300k miles. That's my newest vehicle too. They run excellent and are doing everything I need a vehicle to do reliably.

My problem was/is the area I want to homestead in is 4,000 miles away… so I’m building out a school bus instead (it’s also frigid-so immediate shelter is wise) and saving money by living in a parking lot. Not the funnest way, especially in the heat (one reason why I want the frigid place) but it is getting me there…. It’s so slow going I want to pull my hair out in frustration bc it’s too hot here for me, but I know I’ll get there eventually.

how do you deal with the public address situation? since i know the local government doesn't want most people to live permanently out of an RV or a van. but since you dont have a habitable structure on the property, i would imagine you can't say you dwell on the property.
