Watching 4 years after it was originally loaded. Great info on beard care. I realize now that the rubber bands I've been using are ruining my beard. Thanks so much.

spent shotgun shells. use shorty 12-gauge which are 2.5 inches long.
actually 10 gauge cut in half might even be better.

    • @JD2jr.

I printed one myself a while ago. Don't quite have the volume to hold it in place, so I'd put a rubber band under to thicken it up and add some friction.
I also designed (based on something I saw for sale) a threader that should make it easier to put the beads on. Similar to a needle threading tool.

I've gotten a lot of useful info from your videos so thought I'd offer my solution to keeping my beard tidy, I use flesh tunnels made for stretched lobes as beard rings, these can be found in a huge variety of sizes and materials, glass, stone or stainless steel are a good weight and nice and smooth so they dont damage the hair, I hope this is helpful!cheers and keep on bearding👍

With a short string or cordage, make a scaffold knot - or the other knot that has less turns as what is often depicted as scaffold but may have another proper name - with a loop in it, so the ends are going in the same direction. One end should be a lot shorter when the loops is wide open, then insert a twisted beard in the loop and tighten down with that short end so that the two ends are near the same length.

I used to use those black rubber bands in my beard and one thing to keep in mind is that jojoba oil eats the material (I think they are actually silicone instead of rubber). So if you use jojoba in the hair the bands will just fall apart, especially for noobs like me who would overuse the oil.

My beard is very full at just over a foot from the bottom lip. Most guys I see giving tips at this length (and beyond) have very thin, scraggly breads and the tips they give look unattractive or don’t work for fuller beards. I love these practical and tasteful ideas for the man that’s blessed with a full thick beard. Thank you!

It would be kinda cool if someone made small rings out of steel or brass on an anvil. Of course they would have to be polished but i think that the texture of hammered metal would fit a beard nicely. I might try doing one for myself when i gow my beard a bit more.

One sure thing to use is a food beard net also. Being a cyclist I just put one or two nets over my beard and instantly my beard is contained for cycling, or any other activity I do for fun. One great advantage is that they are very beard friendly and cost hardly anything for a pack of hundreds. After a bike ride I can just pull it off run a wide tooth comb or brush through it and you can’t hardly tell my beard was contained. Not sure how it will work at higher speeds for a motorcycle! Sorry! Hope this will help all beard lovers. Keep growing!

George, I liked this. I would be very interested in seeing how to properly (key word) put in the "viking" type beads. What works, what doesn't. Do's and Don'ts. I've seen them in rasta beards...but I don't ever think those come out without scissors. I am not at a Yeard yet. Could you do a demo with beads and maybe smaller braiding since you have the perfect length beard for it? .....Just Curious.... Thank you again!

Been finding that over the decades where I've (stupidly) chopped it off, and then later grown it back out- the beard never quite seems to grow as long as it did the time before.
