World Eaters and Ultramarines are both really cool, the brutal World Waters just shredding up the field with chainaxes roaring and the incredibly organized Ultramarines precisely defeating their foes with pure tactical genius.
Word Bearers has been my fav legion for a while - the unknowing-ness of the astartes that signed up for a parasitic relationship with daemons, and their fanatical attempts to corrupt the other legions! So cool! Been wanting to start heresy for a while, and I think the boxset is the best way in - especially with the updated scale.
I love the Thousand Sons. The tragedy of their story will always get to me. How they tried to save Horus and ultimately paid the price for the ignorance of the Empire. And the aesthetics of them are just too damn cool! The whole Horus Heresy could be a franchise on it's own and I can't wait to actually get into the HH figurines with the new set

The Salamanders good guys in a universe of hate and evil and marines that just feel more human than any other. Also, they were supreme underdogs during the heresy ya know the whole drop site massacre and all, and who doesnt like the whole dragons and fire motif.
Funny in a strange way, atleast during the great crusade, the night lords technically saved more people than the salamanders. Whereas salamanders would have to conquer a whole world, resulting in many casualties, worlds that even hear of the night lords coming will surrender immediately.
this looks amazing, looking forward to the Heresy content. Since they have fleshed them out in the HH books favorite legion is the World Eaters, I cannot get enough of Angron and his boys, the tragedy of Angron and Khan. And who doesnt want a Primarch that can dead lift a Warhound Titan.
Despite my love for the Raven Guard & Alpha Legion, the Night Lords have really caught my love whole heartedly! A Legion of killers and murderes brought together for a single purpose! Only to be shattered by the 1st, be left Primarchless, and still go about causing mayhem on their own! They have given me a few conversion ideas for the new box set and I cant wait to try them out!
Blood angels are my absolute fav! Cool point of difference with the rage, great primarch, lovely colour scheme. New edition is super exciting as looking to get my partner into the game and this is the perfect chance!
In my opinion the emperors children had the greatest character development arc. A tragic fall from grace. And also mainly because i like pre and post heresy EC paint schemes

I love their aesthetic but god I hate them in the lore. Half of the bad shit that happened was their fault. They did more to bring down the Imperium than most of the traitor legions.

Lachy: hold my beer! 😅Really looking forward to it though, I've read quite a few of the novels myself including Know no Fear. My favorite legion would be the Istvaan III loyalists (a mix of legions I know) under the command of Saul Tarvitz and Garviel Loken. Don't forget to sleep every now and again.
The Blood Angels are where it's at when it comes to the Heresy and I'm loving the throwback to the rules from when I started in 4th edition. Seeing updated versions of those rules just brings back all sorts of unexpected nostalgia!
My favorite is, of course, Ultramarines. Not only they look cool, but their Primarch, Guilliman, is a badass and somewhat a man you'd need in the Grimdark era. Listening to their stories made me learned that they weren't just some cheesy poster boys
The start of my heresy journey coincided with the release of book 5 tempest way back. The story of Calth was so compelling it inspired me right away and I now have armies of Ultramarines (10k pts worth!), Word Bearers, imperial militia, daemons and mechanicum plus a large citifight board to fight over. My favourite to run has to be the noble Ultramarines allied with their imperial militia and a thunderhawk streaming overhead!

I am a huge Fan of the Dark Angels, have a small army of them here... It all started with my family making models for generations and the first model I got was a Space Marine on Bike when I was 10 years old. Then the passion went on rising with the Horus Heresy Books and over 10 years later... here we are. Best hobby I'd never miss.
It’s hard for me to choose a favorite, I enjoy the lore of all of the legions but if I had to choose, the Imperial Fists was the first legion I really enjoyed. Their strong deffense of terra and being the Emperors praetors is the real draw for me, the best offense is a good defense in my oppion. I’m also excited for the new edition of the Heresy as it’ll allow me to try something new and ‘live’ the stories I’ve read so much about.

I'm so hyped for the new Horus Heresy stuff cause it'll be much cheaper and easier for people to get into the horus heresy setting of warhammer, which is just so cool, but all the legions just look so dope so it's getting harder to pick my legion of choice (and by extension favorite legion) for the heresy setting which I'm planning to get into instead of 40k. Death to the false emperor, glory to horus!
The Executioners of the Emperor made short work of Prospero, and rightfully so. It was a glorious moment when Leman Russ broke Magnus' back over his knee.
It has to be the Death Guard, although specifically the legionnaires who refused to turn traitor. Garro is such a legend and I would freaking love creating an (now affordable in Aussie dollars ;p ) HH army of them.
I think that the Thousand Sons are one of the most unique legions, of course because of the huge amount of psykers. I can't wait for the new edition because it gives me a chance to finally paint a Thousand Sons army before the Rubric of Ahriman, when the legion was at its strongest and most cohesive. I would like to say that Magnus did nothing wrong, I know, unpopular opinion. But Magnus and the Emperor were very good friends for most of Magnus' life because of their psychic communications. Magnus was fully loyal and was only trying to warn the Emperor. Even when the Space Wolves came to purge the Thousand Sons, Magnus let his legion be slaughtered for some time as he new he made a huge mistake and was willing to pay the price. Magnus may have been arrogant and went against the Emperor, continuing to research and utilize the powers of the warp leading to him being tricked by Tzeentch (though you cant blame him, Tzeentch is the ultimate trickster). If the Emperor had only warned the Primarchs (especially Magnus) of the dangers of the warp then that wouldn't have happened and Magnus would have been prepared to deal with Tzeentch. Magnus only joined Horus' side to save his legion as he could not bear to see his sons slaughtered. And at that point the only options he had were death or betrayal.
40k is so imperfect as in every faction has pros and cons not just a few though you'll read into one and think ah shit these re the guys for me then they'll have a whole flipside For example I like anti heros so anyone too good or too bad is a bit if a no no so Thousand Sons being bad was a no for me. Then I learned their lore and essentially anti heroes but on the bad guys side. Also being Iranian, thousands sons are based on Archmaeds (but then get Egyptian style armour)

I recently transferred from the classic ultramarines to white scars just because they are soooo clean and I love the speedy vehicles they use Bc I find it super important. I’m pretty new to 40k and the whole war gaming culture but through the many UA-cam videos of warhammer lore, I’ve learned the Horus heresy was one of the craziest turns for the imperium so I would love to see marine vs marine fighting
The legion I love is the iron hands because of the interesting law behind them and the fact that they specialise in dreadnoughts and tanks which are so nice to paint.
Gotta be the Thousand Sons. Such a tragic tale for a legion with such a unique aesthetic, history and the psyker element just cements them as an iconic legion. They're just the best! Good luck everyone :).

Imperial fists. Rogal dorn is just such a good character to me, and painting yellow will be a fun challenge! I KNEW Dorn's sons were for me when I looked at my Minecraft world, which is a set of fortified villages...
That marine popping out of the door is an insane detail, without a doubt the Word Bearers are my favorite legion, with Argel Tar being my favorite captain.
Dang this turned out well. My favorite legion would have to be the Imperial Fists. All their crazy vehicles and bolter shenanigans are a blast (quite literally) and the fortification and building strategy is fun as well.The new edition has got me really excited since it's one of the biggest events in 40k history and being able to essentially play it out is super sick.
The white scars are my favorite, with the imperial fists followed closely behind. The idea of heavily armored stark white marines appearing, smashing through enemy lines faster then they could ever hope to match, before disappearing into the wind, like the ghosts their armour makes them out to be but at the same time in a way that should in all rights be impossible while atop their gigantic war machines, leaving the enemy terrified for when they will return to finish them off. Also, going back to base after a mission to sing and compose poetry is great.
Hi locky!, sons of horus are my favourite legion, the fact they serve under horus and the way they look are just so cool and the fact they would betrayed there fellow brothers that they've fought with in so many campaigns, just draws me in with a army that does betrayal so well, I've never been so hyped over an army until till I started following the heresy, im so keen your future content on these and the new battle reports to come.
My favorite army so far and first army to start building is the Death Guard, commanding zombie hordes in a tabletop game sounded dope. A friend and I just started our adventure into the 40k world with the combat patrol boxes and are slowly learning the ropes. I'm always happy to find an active community and new future content for a new hobby, I've been learning more about Horus Heresy and coming from being a big Star Wars nerd I'm really digging the darker and more gritty aesthetic. Everyone I've met in this community has been super chill and supportive. It's definitly a slow progression building an army though, as Australian pricing can be a bit intimidating.
I love the White Scars. I have always been fascinated for the speed they fight with. They are truly amating, same as the new Horus heresy. It's by far the most interesting time of Warhammer and this is exactly what we needed.
Fantastic video as ever, i cannot wait for more HH content! I’ve only recently started listening to the HH audio books and am about 10 books deep but I’m already so excited for a new addition. I think of all the Warhammer lores HH has the most operatic, gothic feeing grand narrative which makes it such an exciting world to game in. I think the Sons of Horus are probably my favourite legion at the moment. The slow fall explored in the first few books as all the bitterness and ambition gets twisted into all out rebellion is so compelling.

Sons of Horus! loved the look and the story of them since I first read Horus Rising when it came out. Happy to be finally bringing them to the tabletop.

Definitely the Space wolves, they were my first ever Games Workshop Army back in 2015 and I loved them ever since. Basically devoured the Books and I even have the Primarch right here, still unpainted in my drawer of shame, but he will get some color some day!! For Russ! For the Allfather!
I think the best (or at least coolest looking ) legion has to be the alpha legion. not only is the color scheme as beautiful as a primarch's hair, but their lore is also really cool. I remember reading the harrowing as a person new to Warhammer and that's what gave me the push to play 40k. now that horus heresy is going to be more accessible (and much cheaper as far as Warhammer goes) I am going to get my big space marine hands on some mkVI boys as soon as I can!
White scars. Always loved their background… partly because the mongols are what I did most of my college final paper on. They stand strong and show up big at the end.
My favorite space marine legion are the Ultramarines. I started painting them when I was around 10 years old, which was 12 years ago. I have not had the time or money to build my army in a long time due to schooling costs, but now that I graduated, I will have more than enough time to work to repaint and build my army to the greatest its ever been. I am really interested in the new Heresy because who does not love more lore and gore!
The Dark Angels Chapter owns my heart, but honestly the Imperial Fist Legion is my favourite during the Heresy Era. Super excited at an excuse to start them up.
Blood Angels are my favorite legion due to their characters, color scheme, and melee playstyle. Sanguinius is my favorite Primarch and the tragedy of the Legion later Chapter is why I love them so. The main reason why I am interested in this new edition of Horus Heresy is that I never played the game before and my friends at my local Games Workshop always talk about how fun it is and how big it is in scale. Since GW announced that they will be making more plastics for a lot of the Legions I thought it would be a great time to hop in on the game and see what I have been missing. I love your videos and keep them coming!!!
The Sons of Horus are the greatest Legion! Their tactics of aggression and rapid deployment really show what the Great Crusade’s all about. And they’re led by the coolest Primarch, THE ultimate traitor and the Imperium’s brightest star!

Honestly, probably love the Imperial fists most. In TTS (fav warhammer series) Dorn is an absolute gem, which helps. Not only that, but I just love their aesthetic with the Phalanx and whatnot. I think the return of the Horus Heresy is going to be amazing because it gives a chance for a ton of colossal battles to take place, and allows cool historic moments to be re-enacted.
My first experience with Warhammer 40k was the original Dawn of War and all its expansions, I thought what a cool universe. Then I seen some lore vids and heard about the books and table top game... This is the 1st vid I have watched on miniatures and omg I am blown away by the detail and effort. They look so cool!
IX Legion Astartes, the Blood Angels. They were my first ever Warhammer Army, back when my parents gave a 3rd Edition boxset to my childhood self. The twin aspects of their character, their nobility juxtaposed against their rage and self-hatred, as well as sacrifice of Sanguinius himself means I have collected these guys ever since. I can't wait to start a Host of Angels in the 31st Millennium!
Dark Angels gotta be my favorites! The knightly/monk aesthetic is something really unique and it works so well with the dark green color scheme! I've slowly been collecting a massive Dark Angels force and I'm planning on adding all the models from Age of Darkness into it.
The Ultra Marines are my favorite legion. I enjoy that the universe is ever expanding and the community enjoys working together and always welcoming newcomers 😄
Deathguard have been my favourite for a long time, gotta love grandpa Nurgle and his shady gifts, but with the awesome look of this box set the Sons Of Horus look awesome!

I'm so hyped for the new Horus Heresy stuff cause it'll be much cheaper and easier for people to get into the horus heresy setting of warhammer, which is just so cool, but all the legions just look so dope so it's getting harder to pick my legion of choice (and by extension favorite legion) for the heresy setting which I'm planning to get into instead of 40k. Death to the false emperor, glory to horus!

It has to be the Death Guard, although specifically the legionnaires who refused to turn traitor. Garro is such a legend and I would freaking love creating an (now affordable in Aussie dollars ;p ) HH army of them.

Oh man, the word bearers are probably my favorite legion. Just all of their lore and paint scheme is amazing and what they turn into in 40k. So good!
I think that the Thousand Sons are one of the most unique legions, of course because of the huge amount of psykers. I can't wait for the new edition because it gives me a chance to finally paint a Thousand Sons army before the Rubric of Ahriman, when the legion was at its strongest and most cohesive.
I would like to say that Magnus did nothing wrong, I know, unpopular opinion. But Magnus and the Emperor were very good friends for most of Magnus' life because of their psychic communications. Magnus was fully loyal and was only trying to warn the Emperor. Even when the Space Wolves came to purge the Thousand Sons, Magnus let his legion be slaughtered for some time as he new he made a huge mistake and was willing to pay the price.
Magnus may have been arrogant and went against the Emperor, continuing to research and utilize the powers of the warp leading to him being tricked by Tzeentch (though you cant blame him, Tzeentch is the ultimate trickster). If the Emperor had only warned the Primarchs (especially Magnus) of the dangers of the warp then that wouldn't have happened and Magnus would have been prepared to deal with Tzeentch.
Magnus only joined Horus' side to save his legion as he could not bear to see his sons slaughtered. And at that point the only options he had were death or betrayal.
40k is so imperfect as in every faction has pros and cons not just a few though you'll read into one and think ah shit these re the guys for me then they'll have a whole flipside
For example I like anti heros so anyone too good or too bad is a bit if a no no so Thousand Sons being bad was a no for me. Then I learned their lore and essentially anti heroes but on the bad guys side. Also being Iranian, thousands sons are based on Archmaeds (but then get Egyptian style armour)
I love watching these videos to get me more hyped up to paint or build my Horus heresy minis.

For the box set, Nurgle’s Plague marines are my favorite legion. They look absolutely sick and their love for Nurgle is surprisingly wholesome

I recently transferred from the classic ultramarines to white scars just because they are soooo clean and I love the speedy vehicles they use Bc I find it super important. I’m pretty new to 40k and the whole war gaming culture but through the many UA-cam videos of warhammer lore, I’ve learned the Horus heresy was one of the craziest turns for the imperium so I would love to see marine vs marine fighting
The legion I love is the iron hands because of the interesting law behind them and the fact that they specialise in dreadnoughts and tanks which are so nice to paint.

Imperial fists. Rogal dorn is just such a good character to me, and painting yellow will be a fun challenge! I KNEW Dorn's sons were for me when I looked at my Minecraft world, which is a set of fortified villages...
That marine popping out of the door is an insane detail, without a doubt the Word Bearers are my favorite legion, with Argel Tar being my favorite captain.
Dang this turned out well. My favorite legion would have to be the Imperial Fists. All their crazy vehicles and bolter shenanigans are a blast (quite literally) and the fortification and building strategy is fun as well.The new edition has got me really excited since it's one of the biggest events in 40k history and being able to essentially play it out is super sick.
Word Bearers, Argel Tal is just a fantastic character and I love both their color schemes. The silver and the crimson.

The white scars are my favorite, with the imperial fists followed closely behind. The idea of heavily armored stark white marines appearing, smashing through enemy lines faster then they could ever hope to match, before disappearing into the wind, like the ghosts their armour makes them out to be but at the same time in a way that should in all rights be impossible while atop their gigantic war machines, leaving the enemy terrified for when they will return to finish them off.
Also, going back to base after a mission to sing and compose poetry is great.
I love how deep into the lore hes gettin by cutting hands off on certain characters etc
Hi locky!, sons of horus are my favourite legion, the fact they serve under horus and the way they look are just so cool and the fact they would betrayed there fellow brothers that they've fought with in so many campaigns, just draws me in with a army that does betrayal so well, I've never been so hyped over an army until till I started following the heresy, im so keen your future content on these and the new battle reports to come.
I love the vibe of the world eaters, they are just so chaotic and their pre heresy color scheme is just, mwah perfect

My favorite army so far and first army to start building is the Death Guard, commanding zombie hordes in a tabletop game sounded dope. A friend and I just started our adventure into the 40k world with the combat patrol boxes and are slowly learning the ropes. I'm always happy to find an active community and new future content for a new hobby, I've been learning more about Horus Heresy and coming from being a big Star Wars nerd I'm really digging the darker and more gritty aesthetic. Everyone I've met in this community has been super chill and supportive. It's definitly a slow progression building an army though, as Australian pricing can be a bit intimidating.
I love the White Scars. I have always been fascinated for the speed they fight with. They are truly amating, same as the new Horus heresy. It's by far the most interesting time of Warhammer and this is exactly what we needed.
Fantastic video as ever, i cannot wait for more HH content! I’ve only recently started listening to the HH audio books and am about 10 books deep but I’m already so excited for a new addition. I think of all the Warhammer lores HH has the most operatic, gothic feeing grand narrative which makes it such an exciting world to game in.
I think the Sons of Horus are probably my favourite legion at the moment. The slow fall explored in the first few books as all the bitterness and ambition gets twisted into all out rebellion is so compelling.

Sons of Horus! loved the look and the story of them since I first read Horus Rising when it came out. Happy to be finally bringing them to the tabletop.

Definitely the Space wolves, they were my first ever Games Workshop Army back in 2015 and I loved them ever since.
Basically devoured the Books and I even have the Primarch right here, still unpainted in my drawer of shame, but he will get some color some day!!

I think the best (or at least coolest looking ) legion has to be the alpha legion. not only is the color scheme as beautiful as a primarch's hair, but their lore is also really cool. I remember reading the harrowing as a person new to Warhammer and that's what gave me the push to play 40k. now that horus heresy is going to be more accessible (and much cheaper as far as Warhammer goes) I am going to get my big space marine hands on some mkVI boys as soon as I can!
Death Guard always and forever. The neatest looking color scheme and a fighting style that fits my play style like a glove.
White scars. Always loved their background… partly because the mongols are what I did most of my college final paper on. They stand strong and show up big at the end.
My favorite space marine legion are the Ultramarines. I started painting them when I was around 10 years old, which was 12 years ago. I have not had the time or money to build my army in a long time due to schooling costs, but now that I graduated, I will have more than enough time to work to repaint and build my army to the greatest its ever been. I am really interested in the new Heresy because who does not love more lore and gore!
The Dark Angels Chapter owns my heart, but honestly the Imperial Fist Legion is my favourite during the Heresy Era. Super excited at an excuse to start them up.

Blood Angels are my favorite legion due to their characters, color scheme, and melee playstyle. Sanguinius is my favorite Primarch and the tragedy of the Legion later Chapter is why I love them so. The main reason why I am interested in this new edition of Horus Heresy is that I never played the game before and my friends at my local Games Workshop always talk about how fun it is and how big it is in scale. Since GW announced that they will be making more plastics for a lot of the Legions I thought it would be a great time to hop in on the game and see what I have been missing. I love your videos and keep them coming!!!
The Sons of Horus are the greatest Legion! Their tactics of aggression and rapid deployment really show what the Great Crusade’s all about. And they’re led by the coolest Primarch, THE ultimate traitor and the Imperium’s brightest star!

I love the Night Lords. They are are simply the bad guys.. from their beginning they were designed to create terror, but still have a weird sense of justice. I love it. I'm looking to do a cool conversation set with lots of green stuff work for some flayed flesh. Who wouldn't love these guys!

Honestly, probably love the Imperial fists most. In TTS (fav warhammer series) Dorn is an absolute gem, which helps.
Not only that, but I just love their aesthetic with the Phalanx and whatnot.
I think the return of the Horus Heresy is going to be amazing because it gives a chance for a ton of colossal battles to take place, and allows cool historic moments to be re-enacted.
I really like what the death guard were before motarian aka the dusk raiders. Love the colours, love the lore.

My first experience with Warhammer 40k was the original Dawn of War and all its expansions, I thought what a cool universe. Then I seen some lore vids and heard about the books and table top game...

Space Wolves, the first thing I remember from getting into Warhammer 40k as a child
IX Legion Astartes, the Blood Angels. They were my first ever Warhammer Army, back when my parents gave a 3rd Edition boxset to my childhood self. The twin aspects of their character, their nobility juxtaposed against their rage and self-hatred, as well as sacrifice of Sanguinius himself means I have collected these guys ever since. I can't wait to start a Host of Angels in the 31st Millennium!

Dark Angels gotta be my favorites! The knightly/monk aesthetic is something really unique and it works so well with the dark green color scheme! I've slowly been collecting a massive Dark Angels force and I'm planning on adding all the models from Age of Darkness into it.
