"I'm going to prove to you all that ultramarines aren't just boring interchangable samey guys with no personality but all have their own rich deep history overflowing with individuality and to do that the first character model I will make to actually be usable as two different characters!"
Well he uses 1 model to represent 2 characters but he also uses 2 models to respresent 1 character so that makes 3 models represent 3 characters. I would say that's balanced ;)
Your Ultramarines are looking incredible, the work Know No Fear did to rehabilitate their image from 'vanilla' marines is testamemt to Abnett. I'm actually reading through the Shadow Crusade arc of the Hous Heresy at the moment, and I'm going to have to have to say it is a toss up between Argel Tal and Karn, although they are better for being together.
Tarik Torgaddon is my favorite marine because he's probably the most likable member of the XVIth Legion, and the attachment to him made Isstvan III hit even harder.
My favourite Space Marine character? Definitely Ahriman, I love how impactful he is on his Legion's fate and how the course of navigating the flesh-change curse twists and destroys him. Also he just looks incredible and I have four models of him - two of the Heresy model, because of course. 😘
He’s a relatively newer character, but Racej Lucerne of the imperial fists has genuinely won me over. It’s not common that you find a space marine that’s capable of being humorous, let alone amongst the fists, so he’s a real treasure.
Ancient Rylanor or the Anchorite are probably my favourite SM characters, despite not being any of the big ones. Both loyalist traitor legion dreadnoughts (the latter only by virtue of being reformed) they do an excellent job of humanizing and rationalising the traitor legions. 40k morality can be simplistic sometimes and reminders that the traitor legions didn't start out all bad adds some much needed complexity to the world. The fact that they're both still incredibly badass goes to show that you don't need to sacrifice rule of cool to get it either
I LOVE loken! He is such a cool character and the fact he did not fall to chaos is the icing on the cake! Loving this video series, from one Lachlan to another!
Good job, I'm coming back to the hobby after 15 years, i couldn't resist when they announced the release of HH and go for Ultra army, Aeonid Thiel team ;)
Locan is definitely my favourite. I like how he is completely imperfect and despite trying to do the right thing he still fails those around him. great character design
Love your army project you have done. Remus Ventanus is one of my favorite characters that doesn't get enough love and I was excited that you mentioned him.
Thanks for the chance and I’m going to say my favorite character is Torgaddon from the Luna wolfs/son of Horus mostly because he’s one of the first space marines to show a sense of humor that and he stayed loyal to the emperor till the end
My favorite character is probably Exodus, The One who is Many. I love how he would just appear mid battle, kill a single person and then immediately disappear. Also the fact that he may not just be one SM but a whole organization of Astartes is so very Alpha Legion.
Ahzek Ahriman is such a fun character for me. He's a traitor only because fate ensured he'd have to betray his kind. I love that the fall of Prospero was this great sundering for the Imperium. Forcing a very dangerous legion to turn to horus. Then theirs the hellish revelation that Magnus lied and hadn't fully cured the gene flaw of the Thousand Sons. Ahriman in rage and desperation accidently dooms his kin to half life, their souls bound to their armour as a legion of dust. I think my favourite part is his time in exile, where Ahriman in shame becomes the lowly sorcerer of a band of renegades. His mind broken and his identity fractured ever since his greatest mistake. Only to be awoken by the arrival of a once freind whose only mission is to slay him. Ahriman realises what must be done, that the Covens loyal to Magnus could never undo the ritual born from Ahriman's mind. He reduces his old freind to dust and returns to the Galaxy as one of its most dangerous villains. Not a 30k thing but i just love that Ahriman has gone on like 3 separate adventures in the black Library and the Harliquens can't stop him.
My favourite space marine character is Angron as he’s a hot mess, a brutal savage, easily angered and flies off the handle at a moment’s notice. Love that his constant rage makes him unreliable but still a vital part of the war effort at the same time.
My favourite character has to be dominion Zephon, his pose is absolutely amazing and it’s an amazing build and paint, love the heresy vids always entertaining, keep it up!
100% my fav is Marduk Sedras, siege breaker of the host of stone. His character is just so badass especially his sword the death of worlds with it being forged from the very worlds he’s destroyed.
Favorite space marine character by far is Vorx of the lords of silence warband. Dude's trying to juggle so many plates at once while appeasing 17 different conflicting parties and a semi-sapient ship, you just gotta feel for him.
I’m seriously considering starting a Saguar Mazan White Scar army. There’s something just so compelling about them fighting to regain lost honor before they die
Great video. Loving Mark of Calth so far and can’t wait for more. Magnet Baton has been my go to source for magnets for a few years now. They are great.
I don’t know anything about Horus Heresy but watched this anyway. I came here for the beautiful skilled hobby work and your phenomenal vocabulary as always!
"My lord I have done enough! Please! Let me rest" Dante is the coolest space marine to me. He's slowly decaying he's lived for so long. He was trusted with the entire Imperium Nihilus. So cool to me
Favourite character Dantioch Barabbas. Dude was ancient and got banished by perty. Then when asked to betray the Imperium he said he'll naw and endured a year long seige. Hijacked his attackers ship, befriended an imperial fist. And sacrificed himself. His men becoming a loyalist marine chapter. Post Heresy.
You can not make videos fast enough!! I’m hooked on this campaign and how you did it. I don’t know much about the Horus Heresy but this video series has really peeked my interest! And you are changing my opinion of the boys in blue. My favorite character is Logan Grimnar, because he sprinted in terminator armor and you can convert his model to look like Santa being pulled by two vicious Christmas wolves! Thank you! Can’t wait for the next one!!!
My favorite space marine character is Aeonid Thiel. I love the story of how he is the reason for Sergeants to use red helmets. And how he lead other space marines using some of the weapons of his primarch!
I may love my Blood Angels most dearly, but for my favorite Heresy-era space marine, I have to admit Saul Tarvitz is an absolute Gigachad. Love the man
Absolutely brilliant video! I love how you treat each individual mini like its own special character! I'd have to say my favourite marine in the Heresy has to be Corswain, he is very ballsy as shown by him rodeo riding Curze but he also has a dry wit about him which makes his confrontation with Sevatar very amusing.
Super cool and unique work on turning an otherwise basic legion into something very nice! Favourite character made in the Warhammer universe is probably Kharn, Angron or Alpharius / Omegon.
Favourite Space Marine: Fitting for Calth, albeit for possibly the 'wrong' reason, I'd have to go Argel Tal of the Word Bearers. So evil but in such an exciting, entertaining and badass way. From his pure relationship with The Blessed Lady, to his symbiotic possession by Raum, Argel never ceased being an absolute unit. He was so awesome that even Erebus was scared that Argel would become Khorne's chosen instead of Kharn. The dude killed freaking Custodes, so one had the right be pretty terrified of him. He's just so satisfying and extraordinary, and his Forge World Daemon model is one of my absolute favourites, it looks freaking amazing.
My favourite character is either Loken or Meduson. Loken's character in horus rising is likable and fantastically written. Him remaining loyal is semi unique Meduson tho building a fighting force from basically some rag tag leftovers from 3 legions is so badass. Old earth never happened Meduson lives
I really liked the Mournival... even Abbie is amazing in Horus Rising... It's a shame what became of his character during the second and third books...
My favourite space marine character has always been cypher ever since i was a kid i always thought the duel pistols and the mysterious nature of what his motives are just make him such an interesting character.
My fav is Maloghurst the twisted. His unbroken loyalty for Horus is just awesome. And i like the fact that he is a human not an Astartes. Badassery on point!
I don't know if it's a "correct" answer by my favourite marine gonna be my tactical squad sergeant Bob who smacked down in 5th edition 3 leman russes with his power fist. Definitely the best character
Favourite space marine character currently has to be Kydomor Forrix. Having said that there is alot of fantastic characters throughout and I enjoy reading about them all.
My favorite space marine character (in 40K) absolutely has to be Mephiston. He carried a massive presence on the table, and is a great example of a primaris marine without the goofy primaris armor. In addition, he is bonded to the Dark Angel, 1/2 of the 2 warp gods making up Sanguinius himself. His model is stunning, and I can't get over his sword. He was also my first Blood Angels model, so I may be a bit biased haha. In 30K it has to be Raldoron, such a beautiful model packed with detail and pizazz.
As an Ultramarines fan of course my favourite character is Aeonid Thiel. He is one of the few ultramarines that thinks outside the box and actually saved chapter master Marius Gage and by extent a lot more ultramarines with his tactics against other space marines, as their previous tactics were already know and predicted by the word bearers .
Despite them not getting the most development in the Heresy, I've always had a soft spot for the freedom fighting Raven Guard - and seeing your double power sword captains has made me want to convert up a Sharrowkyn model... At the minute though I'm working on getting bits together for Kaedes Nex; the way his bloody hunts contrast to the dogma and doctrines of the Raven Guard is some really nice flavour. I'm thoroughly enjoying getting back into character conversions with heresy, and videos like this are such great inspiration, cheers!
My favourite space marine character is none other than Ahzek Ahriman, not only because of the arc he has throughout 30k and 40k, but I just find it so amusing that he planned to retire and open a vineyard to brew space wine.
I am making a group of 5 custom chapters that combine to make the Coalition of Heresy. Their story would take place sometime after the Horus Heresy and they essentially believe that they are the only beings that are fit to rule the galaxy. I’m still working out some of the lore though.
Favourite space marine character is easy. Uriel Ventris, 4th company captain of the Ultramarines. He was the main character of the first Black Library book I read and he cemented my love not just for marines but Ultramarines.
My favourite character will always be Talos of he Night Lords, his book series is just fantastic, detailing how he deteriorates as the Night Haunter's Curse slowly kills him, his growing disillusion with the Night Lords themselves and his act of killing hundreds of psykers is the most brutal act of the entire long war. Plus blowing up an Eldar Phoenix Lord is badass as fuck!
My favourite space marine is a bit of a cheat because it spans 2 characters but since they are the same person I say it counts Lufgt Huron/Huron Blackheart. What a story and what a couple of amazing minis.
My Favorite space marine character from 30k has got to be Argel Tal. The way he is written is just beautiful. He's nuanced, sympathetic, powerful, but still an evil man that does evil deeds.
My favourite character - Tarim Torgaddon - always a joker until his final duel. Not in the spotlight like Garvi, but undoubtedly leading the loyalists to the same extent as the other captains on Isstvaan 3
My favourite Space Marine Character has to be Nassir Amit the original Flesh Tearer. He was first to suggest that Horus had betrayed the Imperium to Sanguinius and was a match for Kharn in close combat.
My personal favorite space marine character is actually the grandmaster Duriel of ironwing in the Lion’s primarch novel who fights with a power axe rather than a sword and then sacrificed him self to stop the krave
My favorite character would be Alpharius. We can never be sure what his and his legions motives are and the whole mystery around them is super interesting and cool to me.
Great video my definit favorite is Shadrak Meduson just reading about this iron hand leader inspired me to so start my army years ago just a rag tag group fighting tooth and nail reminded me or the Rebels from Star Wars so much I just had to start the army
My favourite has to be Saul Tarvitz. Of all the marines he alone had one of the biggest impacts of the whole Heresy. No other individual marines did as much damage to Horus's plans as he did. And he was the first to renounce his father making him the first true loyalist
Favorite SM character? Loken, the last of the Luna Wolves. Such a character. He represents the very best of the space marines, because he recognizes his weaknesses and acts around them. Like the practice duel with Lucius or the battles in the Siege of Terra. Amazing fighter and a good friend of the Saint. Second best would be Sevatar, because he is Sevatar. Dude is just hilarious.
It might be the camera-filter, but the blue on these Ultramarines looks a bit closer to teal in many shots. It's an interesting shade that makes them look more appealing.
The XIIIth Legion, the Warborn Legion, not the coolest legion in the lore, but they got the -power and force- numbers to tide the turn of Heresy if not for the warpstorm
I just read Mark of Calth and loved the whole story of Kaurtal of the Gal Vorbak. The dialogue between him and the daemon, and also his desire that the Chapters not be lost to History inspired me to work more background into my WordBearers-Heroes-to-be. Then your video confirmed I need this narrative side to my games. ❤
Argel Tal made this hardcore loyalist dip his toe into the HH. The anguish and betrayal the Word Bearers felt after the destruction of Monarchia set the stage and the creation of Tals Gal Vorbak as they were seduced capped it off. Tals inner battle and partnership with Raum and later, his kinship w Kharn was a unique and compelling story to me.
I'm loving these videos! Especially now that I just finished "Know No Fear". I had to read it after seeing the first Mark of Calth Battle Report. So wicked!
2nd company commander Grulgor of the death guard. I only say this because he exists as the antithesis of what a space marine “should” be at the time of his mutation into a warp-beast. I remember him because he is a disgustingly brutish death guard before his turn, and he definitely gets what is coming to him. He also exists to foreshadow the fate of all traitorous death guard lost to warp mutation.
My favorite space marine character is sigismund the eternal crusader because he created the black templars, was in charge of the first wall and ordered the destruction of Pluto’s moons to make a mine field to stop the advancing heretics so in my mind sigismund is a major threat to the enemies of the imperium of mankind.
WORDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Iacton is an absolute legend. I was straight up crying like a baby watching him realise what his great legion had become and then having the balls to fight for what was right.
Great kitbashes. I love customizing minis. My favourite space marine character is Gabriel Angelos. Such stoicism, much heroics. In Heresy, it has to be Rylanor.
My favourite SM character has to be Jaghatai Khan, Primarch of the White Scars. Not only does he have awesome stories all around (if rather unknown), he also has one of the most insane burns ever recorded in 40K history. When (pre-Heresy) Fulgrim offered to fight him in his own homeworld of Chogoris, the Khan calmly replied: "You would lose. You would lose because you would treat it like a game, like you treat everything, and I would not. You would lose because you know nothing of me, and I know everything of you because you shout it from the turrets of your battle cruisers. My prowess remains unknown. You have some reputation as a swordsman, brother, but I make no boast when I tell you I would leave you choking on it." Savage!

My favourite Space Marine character? Definitely Ahriman, I love how impactful he is on his Legion's fate and how the course of navigating the flesh-change curse twists and destroys him. Also he just looks incredible and I have four models of him - two of the Heresy model, because of course. 😘

It is so cool to hear you say that you love your painted miniatures. I love all my miniatures I ever paninted, too!
Torgaraddon is great. Love the scenes where he argues with the EC
As a life long Dark Angels fan, I have to say my favorite Heresy era character was Zahariel.

I just love Saul Tarvitz on Istvaan 3. Totally badass how a seemingly lowly ranked Marine just turns the battle into a slog for the Traitors.
Saul is easily in my top 5, if not taking out first spot!
Great and inspiring video!!! My favourite carácter is Kharn. I like that tragic look of "My Legion is going to hell but I Will be down with them"
Thanks mate! Yeah I love Kharn too.
Super cool and unique work on turning an otherwise basic legion into something very nice!
Favourite character made in the Warhammer universe is probably Kharn, Angron or Alpharius / Omegon.
I have to say Torgaddon during Horus rising. I just love his character in that book, and who can resist his humor and smile?
Favourite Space Marine: Fitting for Calth, albeit for possibly the 'wrong' reason, I'd have to go Argel Tal of the Word Bearers. So evil but in such an exciting, entertaining and badass way. He is FANTASTIC and waaaaaaaaaaaaaait till you get to book 24 man, Argel Tahl gets some amazing stuff!!!
Lucius of the Emperor's Children is my favourite character. Always been a stand out model and character. Can't wait for his new heresy model
My favourite character is either Loken or Meduson.
Loken's character in horus rising is likable and fantastically written. Him remaining loyal is semi unique

It's so good!
My favourite space marine character has always been cypher ever since i was a kid i always thought the duel pistols and the mysterious nature of what his motives are just make him such an interesting character.
I guess my favorite astartes would have to be mephiston, a psychotic psychic vampire is just too funny for me.
My fav is Maloghurst the twisted. His unbroken loyalty for Horus is just awesome. And i like the fact that he is a human not an Astartes. Badassery on point!

You are just oozing passion in these videos and its so infectious
Ah thank you mate, I'm a bit obsessed haha
I am starting a army for horus heresy, so seeing this is a massive inspiration!!
Not gonna lie, my favorite character is Argel Tal! Going through The First Heretic right now and I’m loving every second of it!!
I know it seems so stereotypical but I love sigismund and how he just carved a path through the traitors so easily
Nathaniel Garro would be my favorite 30k character. He was just unstoppable.
My personal favorite space marine character is actually the grandmaster Duriel of ironwing in the Lion’s primarch novel who fights with a power axe rather than a sword and then sacrificed him self to stop the krave
Thiel is one of my favorites, and your conversion looks amazing
Kick ass as always. Your always so excited in your vids.
My favorite character would be Alpharius. We can never be sure what his and his legions motives are and the whole mystery around them is super interesting and cool to me.
It's a copout answer, but Garviel Loken has to be my favourite.
I loved your Thiel conversion!
Fantastic video! :D well done! Really enjoyed watching this while painting my Beornings! 👏👏
Thank you very much mate! I've got some baller plans for my Beornings too! MORE ROHAN CONVERSION MATERIAL
@@Zorpazorp ooooo I can’t wait to see that video!! :D
The warpstorm was a lie that the ultramarines created so they could do there taxes as the imperium burns
Jeffyyyy boyyy!! Mark of Calth is a greeat little anthology and the Gal Vorback backstory is awesome, I loved that too! NARRATIVE IS LIFE!
Sneaky Sevatar takes its for now! -been caching up on some reading. Another ace video as always Lord of Zorp! :)
Thanks again Eli!
Well done chief! I can’t wait to get my hands on Reboot Girly Man, my favorite UltraMar.
My favorite space marine has got to be Iacton Qruze, an oldie, but goodie
WORDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Iacton is an absolute legend. I was straight up crying like a baby watching him realise what his great legion had become and then having the balls to fight for what was right.
Garviel Loken is my favorite Marine. For obvious reasons!
Would love to win that booster pack. Bless you and keep up the great videos!
favorite character is Zardu Layak and his Blade slaves. Absolute amazing models
When (pre-Heresy) Fulgrim offered to fight him in his own homeworld of Chogoris, the Khan calmly replied:
"You would lose. You would lose because you would treat it like a game, like you treat everything, and I would not. You would lose because you know nothing of me, and I know everything of you because you shout it from the turrets of your battle cruisers. My prowess remains unknown. You have some reputation as a swordsman, brother, but I make no boast when I tell you I would leave you choking on it."
Savage!
