I think that the pleasure principle is the 1st dimension (analaogy: line), then self-concept is 2nd dimension (analogy: plane), and spiritual worldview is the 3rd dimension (3D). And it is very difficult to change within one dimension working from inside of it, but changes become easy when working from the higher dimension: sensation
