Love Heather Maloney! Even played her song "dresser drawer" during my wedding! Also, it's great that Audiotree is reposting older sessions like this for us to enjoy again! Two thumbs up!
Heather, you are such a joy to listen to. I just heard you in Minneapolis at The Cedar last week and your joy, depth of character, wisdom beyond your years, and grace, all come shining through. Thank you for blessing me and so many others. You are an awesome role model for my two 20-something daughters. All the best!!
"serena" is a beautifully written story. the "woodstock" cover was amazing (and at 67 yrs, i've heard a lot of "woodstock" covers.) i loved the story of 1855 (and the gorgeous vocal tumble you do on the "that's the only photo ever taken of the-e-e-em"). "i am made of...my daddy's dreams and my mother's heart" - wow! a voice so rich on the bottom and pure crystal on the top. the guitar arrangements and playing were awesome. thanks for a wonderful half hour.
I had the pleasure of seeing Heather a few years back. She walked out on stage with an acoustic guitar in front of 2500 people. By the end of her set , the audience had fallen in love with her. I had too.
This woman could sing me to death, and I'd let her carry me on her voice to whatever else is beyond this life. Exceptional. Magnificent. Talented, Beautiful. What a gift of a human being.
I never heard of Heather Maloney. I was looking for something this morning and a version of Chris Smither's "Call Yourself" I think on a home recording came up so I figured I'd give it a listen. Wow! She is truly incredible. Look forward to her visiting the West Coast if she hasn't done so already. She is truly wonderful. Refreshing to say the least! Just caught the background in opera, same as Susan Werner who did the same at Temple Univ, and also grew up on a farm, in Iowa. ...
singer/songwriter has been done and done so well there is almost no more room. Lived the James Taylor Carole King Jackson Browne era. Heather Maloney is good. Really good. Listenable doesn't have to mean MOR or elevator music. It's hard to be one person who has something to say and is able to convey it. She does all this. I'm a new fan.
Very inspirational, enjoyable and wonderful. This is definitely my favorite kind of music. Pure singer song-writer folk, but with an amazing voice! And an awesome drawing artist to boot!
I heard her at Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA 8-9-18 and was blown away. Super vocal control reminiscent of Joanie Mitchell in her prime. I'm a fan for sure.
That second song gives us a glimpse into how she experiences this life we share. She understands how rich and complex and wondrous and precious it is - that's why she's kinda leaning into it. OK, I'm going back for more. This is Fine Art, right?
I just want to express how wonderful your sound mixing is. Just wonderful the harmonics, all that treble zing and no sibilant. The sound was so lively, I was fooled with that magical surrounding sound after the initial song :)
Audiotree Live this is such a good idea to present this "alternative music" (I call it...). Alternative to the usual low quality commercial music we are commonly fed. I support you a 100% and Hope you keep growing as a program, in addition to "growing music" like you do. Many thanks.
Audiotree has been posting their archive of performances lately; it's my understanding that they didn't have a youtube channel until a little while ago.
I'd call it Americana. It's not so much a catch-all, but music that has a lot of country, folk, bluegrass, soul, blues, influences, but don't really fit into any one of those labels. Something like americanroutes.wwno.org/ or dittytv.com
On her bandcamp page she talked about her album "Making me break" and she called it indie-rock..not sure what that is exactly but i think it has influences from those genres u mentioned
Who cares as long as it's good stuff?! But seriously labels are subjective. Worked for a few music stores in college and things weren't always labeled as I thought it should be. Everyone has different ideas on what things should be.

That's a whole lotta beautiful to be crammed into one person.
Sure is =)
She's just great. Watched this so many times now.

That's a performance to cherish. I love how Mrs. Marloney modulates her voice, like the shades of an inner iris.
Heard this song by my son's recommendation, Listening it since then.
Your voice is divine Heather Maloney.

Brilliant.
I just heard of Heather Maloney yesterday, clicked on this video to check her out for a few minutes before work.

I am in love and so is anybody who sees this miracle of a human being

Amazing song writer, beautiful singer. Thank God she followed her calling.

Brilliant poetic songwriting, voice of jasmine and smoke and honey... what's not to love. Do yourself a favor... take the time to savor the full set.
Billder Inbaja can't tell if you were trying to reference like blood from a stone or not
Was worth the time - she's AMAZING. That version of 'Woodstock' had me in tears...

The small strum at 10:13 sounds the like The Rain Song.
Wow, love,love,love!!!
BRILLIANT !!
Sublime.
Incredible
Well, I got here pretty late, but Heather is an amazing artist!
Feelin' it! Synchronicity strikes again. Training and talent score big here.
This girl is the whole package and then some. I sure hope to hear more from her. Does she tour? I hope so.
good LORD!!!... I saw her smile a few weeks ago... didn't imagine such a rich voice... 10 seconds in to fan-dom
Remember me a little bit Missy Higgins firsts albums .
Nice live !
Wow! That cover of "Woodstock" was like a punch in the gut!
her music and her guitar reminds with Michelle Branch's music in early 00's
all that falls is something more than you can imagine. Falling can be everything... ...dont be afraid to fall
Besides the voice & songwriting, the guitarring is also very fine.
She has a beautiful voice ....
reminds me of the wreckers. she really deserves more popularity.
Awesome!
unfamiliar with singer>decided to listen to 2 songs> Fan after the 2nd song!
Saw her duet with Shakey Graves. I love her now!
so true
it's took you 2? jk
Same thing over here. She seems so authentic and it's so easy to connect, right? Very sweet girl, too.
Way to rock the baritone uke!

i have rewound O hope, my tired friend 3 times
omg, she's super cute and talented
So...is she pouring herself into it or is she just being, and what pours out is a grand waterfall of goodness?
Good question. Well, she did talk about doing a lot of meditation..
Is that first instrument a baritone ukulele?
robertej09 tenor guitar
Why'd you wait so long to post this goodness?
Audiotree has been posting their archive of performances lately; it's my understanding that they didn't have a youtube channel until a little while ago.
what genre would you put this type of music in? country?
I'd call it Americana. It's not so much a catch-all, but music that has a lot of country, folk, bluegrass, soul, blues, influences, but don't really fit into any one of those labels. Something like americanroutes.wwno.org/ or dittytv.com

If we called it Country maybe other "Country" singers would take note.
Haha..Warbird Nut is right..as long it's good music no need to put a label on it..just enjoy
Firing on all cylinders
Tenor Guitar or Ukulele on the first song?
Tenor guitar!
this chick is fiiiiiiine!
