Lily & Madeleine are a folk pop duo who craft atmospheric tracks with the help of multi-instrumentalists. Shannon Hayden’s pedal board-connected cello imparts ghostly hums, her mandolin pings delicate notation, and an extra guitar puts the punch in every crescendo. Kate Seifker’s drumming is creative and lively; from a percussive cave she peppers xylophone chimes, eerie key pads and snare snaps. The presence of auxiliary musicians adds dense undertones to the sisters’ piano folk. Though their ages hover around 20, Lily & Madeleine are effortlessly harmonious. Their “blood harmony” drifts in and out but cries out as one continuous voice. The sisters have brought their individual voices together with unmatched fluidity. Watch them perform tracks from “Fumes”, the duo’s newest release.

so good! it's interesting how versatile these songs are; they sound great performed with just lily & madeleine, but they also work really well in the context of a full four-piece band.

This is fantastic! Love the voices, the arrangements, and instrumentation. Interesting effects board with what looks like analog gauges. I am at work so can't view it all but marked it to completely listen later.

Just saw Lily & Madeleine on 🎶NPR Tiny Desk Concerts🎶 and it was only the two sisters when they were 16 & 18 years old in 2014, I believe. Check it out! I like this, but it seems so different. But a nice different. 😍
