Hey Tiny Desk! Have you all considered doing some sort of contest where someone could win a chance to be in the "tiny audience"? I'm pretty sure that would be just about the coolest thing ever.
One of the purest voices I've ever heard live--she opened for Michael Nau in Seattle at the Sunset Tavern--after her set, nothing against Nau, but we just decdied to leave after a few of his songs. She is right up there in my books, and her songwriting is very personal and so, quite powerful and the music at times is haunting and dreamlike. Keep goin' Erin.
It's 4:16am here. I'm tired, have work tomorrow, and my body hurts. But here I am crying all night listening to new bands to just move my mind on by. Dont know if they're the band for me, but they are very objectively good and I appreciate that. Very calming, maybe that's what I need.
Another gem I’d never have heard of if it wasn’t for Tiny Desk. I gotta say, many of the lesser known artists are reaching me more keenly than the big name artists.
First time I saw miss Erin Rae was at barnstormers codfish hollow Maquoketa Iowa. I was down in the green room having one of those lonely feelings even though I was surrounded by my very best friends. Heard her voice and went running to the barn doors. I cried in awe and truth. She is one of the pure ones.
The song "Love Like Before" was on repeat in my car filled with suitcases and boxes of my junk, while driving across country after a breakup. I ended up finding my own "place on the eastside" in my hometown, and I felt grounded in the moment and in where I happened to be living, for the first time in years. Thanks npr, Erin, and the band : )
I saw Erin open for Jade Bird yesterday and I had never heard of her. I was SO blown away!!!!!!!!!! I feel so honored and blessed to have seen her. It was truly a gift and she was so fun to talk to her afterwards ☺️ she’s like a siren/fairy/warm fuzzy blanket for when you’re sad in winter hehe
Love Erin Rae! I saw her in Irving last month with Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit and Father John Misty and LOVED her set! :) Incredible! So glad to see her here! Thank you!
NPR, thank you as per usual for bringing the best variety to a incredibly diverse audience.I wasn't expecting to have so many feels this morning, but I'm glad got to listen to something so wonderful soft.
What is a soft rock? Sand. Seriously - this is lovely music, call it whatever pleases you, but please forget the name Soft Rock. There is no such thing.
I love tiny desk. I’ve been a fan for as long as I can remember. But every time I watch, the same thing pops into my mind. I wish that the cameras would focus a little bit more on the other musicians. It’s always the singer and/or guitarist that gets a close up (over and over)... give some love to the other musicians. As they are EQUALLY important! (Literally)
Sonic bliss. Thanks for adding her to this treasure trove of gifted light bearers. It is a bonus that all the back up musicians are wearing shirt jacks. 😉
This performance is great in that it invites us to join in the process of making music. Listen to the backup vocals by the boys, distorted guitar lines, Mellotron and electric piano a la Wurlitzer. Serene. Sincere. Simple. And that is the very thing our music and us aspire to.
Dear Erin Rae, I will forever keep anonymous now, but I just want you to know that 7 years ago, you truly saved my life, and made me believe in Angels. This world is 1000% better because of you. A million thank yous. HFTL.
This is great music.... HUGE shouts out to the NPR sound engineers.. @NPR check out Jamell Richardson and the Hi-def soul band he should be next for realllllll

To the top with you
Vote it up folks!
That’s a great idea 💡
I agree. 😀
Such a good idea!!
Erin. You are a sage. Thank you

Listen to this with my daughter - if it's one of the things she remembers me for, I'll be happy

I still watch this video often. Erin your voice is ethereal, and we're lucky to hear it.
I'm so glad I've subbed to NPR music. Tiny desk performances have allowed me to find such amazing music. For this I thank you!
Check out Gary Clark Jr.

This doesn't even feel like a live performance. Perfect.
cz25 exactly the opposite. This really FEELS like a live performance. That’s why it’s perfect
I was thinking the same as you cz25. So polished. So clean. So full. So much depth.
The musicianship in this group is absolutely stunning. Amazing players, awesome band.
It's so good watching/listening to people who just are the music.. Nothing out place here. Easy for the ears.

This was so laid back and wonderful- such a tight band and major props to the sound engineer YET AGAIN for capturing it so well for us.
I keep coming back for Bad Mind. So many aspects of this song to admire. Kudos #TinyDesk for capturing this so well

Great voice. Thoughtful lyrics. Amazing band. I'll be listening to her for a while now. Gonna check tour dates now. Thanks Tiny Desk
Boy... they didn't leave anything at the door here... superb!
Erin reminds me of Shawn Colvin, story telling through song. Brilliant!
Really tugs at the heartstrings. Thanks NPR & Erin Rae
Just WOW! I think I like this version of "bad mind" better than the studio version. Awesome work NPR too.
i saw her live last year as the opener for Michael Nau and it was magical. it was just her and jerry and i’ve never been so transported by live music.
NPR, thank you as per usual for bringing the best variety to a incredibly diverse audience.I wasn't expecting to have so many feels this morning, but I'm glad got to listen to something so wonderful soft.
So beautiful - thanks once again NPR/TDC!

Good Sweet Lord this is truly amazing. Thanks NPR
Just listened to her record Putting on the Airs. Excellent !
Wow! She has a Emmylou Harris sound. Storytelling it is. I love it.
Sister Phyllis I was going to say the same! So great!
Sister Phyllis - I was gonna say Roseanne Cash. Some of that Emmylou sweetness, though.
Rosanne Cash + Gillian Welch
This session is amazing
pure bliss
Why is this the first I’ve heard this?!? 🔥🔥🔥
Love her sound. Her voice is delicious, and her lyrics are memorable poetry. (Would be thrilled to see Yebba on Tiny Desk.)
Thanks again NPR. Another artist I never heard of. Very nice.
Soft rock is just so pure. I don't know why some people think it's sleepy. Absolutely loved it Erin👏
What is a soft rock? Sand. Seriously - this is lovely music, call it whatever pleases you, but please forget the name Soft Rock. There is no such thing.
All ages of me are excited as well.
This is so good. Amazing band, great voice, great songs. Too bad the record doesn't sound like this. Dude with the spaghetti is killing it.

What a find! So far this decade in music is really proving to be dominated by amazing female song-writers.
Sonic bliss. Thanks for adding her to this treasure trove of gifted light bearers. It is a bonus that all the back up musicians are wearing shirt jacks. 😉
Thank you Nashville Public Radio!
Loved it. Cool stuff. Need to find when your team is in New England!!!!!
Second song rlly touched my soul, lyrically and musically

Makes me want to be in Nashville
This was beautiful. Glad I randomly stumbled upon you, Erin Rae!
This performance is great in that it invites us to join in the process of making music. Listen to the backup vocals by the boys, distorted guitar lines, Mellotron and electric piano a la Wurlitzer. Serene. Sincere. Simple. And that is the very thing our music and us aspire to.
To play and sing this well..and then find 4 others that compliment it to this level would be a dream
Wonderful performance.
I love listening to this kind of music.💕
Awww. I came because her name was Erin, my favorite sister, and stayed because she rocked!
I noticed and appreciate the choice of shirts and colours for the guys! lol
Dear Erin Rae, I will forever keep anonymous now, but I just want you to know that 7 years ago, you truly saved my life, and made me believe in Angels. This world is 1000% better because of you. A million thank yous. HFTL.
