This guide is fine and dandy long as it’s a 2wd your working on. On a 4x4 you have no choice but to drop the front diff if you want to take the oil pan off to replace the pickup tube. If your doing just the pump, you can put a wire in around the bolt that holds the pickup tube to the pump, and break it loose with a small 10 mil wrench, then use the open end to take it off. The wire is so you don’t drop the bolt but if you get a piece of thicker wire that holds it’s shape but can still be bent, and use it during reassembly to hold it against the bolt flange, and use your open end wrench to get it started just like you used it to take it off to begin with. You do not have to drop the pan to do it like most people believe.

Truly an excellent example of how to perform the procedure. All example and no extra wasted time talking. Excellent production, great lighting and camera. Very professional. Well done! 👏🏼

Oil pressure went to zero. Stopped 2010 Suburban (165,000 miles) and restarted, pressure was low about 20 pounds. Replaced sensor, no change. Upon replacing the oil pump noticed the Oring on the oil pickup tube had shrunk causing air leakage. The oil pump was not at fault.

Gotta love the handy dandy battery powered knuckle buster...good shit bro... bought a used 2013 ppv at 160k, im pretty sure this will be my next step. Oil sensor slows just goes from 35 to 10 over a 5 minute span, then low pressure shut engine alert on the dash info screen appears. engine still purrrrs, no knocking, but still fill it could be an issue.

Great video but you forgot to do the pump alignment. Put the pump bolts on hand tight and then rotate the crank one full revolution. Then tighten down the pump bolts. Failure to do this can result in premature pump wear and failure. You also need to prime the pump after install.

You didn't shim the oil pump. In my observation, it shouldn't be that big of a deal but is that the reason you didn't?

I don’t like how you have to take off the diff just to get to the pan.. doesn’t seem efficient 🤦🏻‍♂️
