    I recently installed this and your SRT kit on a P226 .40 that has gone from DAK, to SA/DA and then upgraded with the Grayguns parts. What an amazing difference from what it used to be. Great work guys!

    Installed the ELS hybrid on a P226 TacOps. The factory SRT trigger pull was 10lb and 4.25lbs. With the ELS installed, the pull is now 10.5lb and 3.75lbs. The hybrid shape is preferred over Sig's curve. The pre-travel and over travel adjustment features are nice.
    For a similar Sig (with SRT and ~4lb SA pull), I would recommend replacing only the trigger with a flat or hybrid shape, to suit one's personal preference, and use the pre/over travel adjustments.

    Anyone curious, I have the ELS trigger. I also had (HAD) the Armory craft dual adj trigger in my 226. I don't know what kind of crazy juju the ELS trigger has but, yes it absolutely changes the pull weight. Noticably. Of all the parts i have put into my Sigs, the ELS is the most drastic change you can feel. In a great way.
    I own several P22X pistols and have installed all types of different parts.
    I have the AC smooth action kit, sig armorer's improved hammer strut, AC lightened mass hammer, nickel hammer pin, spring kits, standard SRT and all manner of aftermarket improved parts. If its an aftermarket part for a sig i have it.
    None of it was as noticable of a positive change as the ELS trigger. I can not recommend it enough. Best upgrade to a classic line Sig you can make.

    I can not recommend this enough. I have bought nearly every aftermarket part for classic sigs out there. For 225, 226, 227, 229, 210, 220. Single greatest improvement you can make to a Sig 226.

    Thanks for the video. One thing I notice though, the trigger pivot pin is asymmetrical. I do not know if it can be install incorrectly, but it should be obvious if you do, right?

    • @grayguns

      That is correct, the Trigger pin is stepped. the step side goes on the left side of the gun.

    Hello, what is the weight of the pull with this trigger installed? Also where can I find the springs along with this setup

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns  2 роки тому +5

      Hi Mike, its hard to give you an exact pull weight after the fact since the guns come from the factory in a range of pull weights. Our ELS kit reduces the DA pull by about 20% and the SA pull by about 15%. We also offer a spring kit that will reduce the pull weight even more. With the ELS kit and a blue duty spring, you will see pull weights range from 8lbs to 9lbs for DA and around 4 for SA

    I recently purchased the SIG P-Series Dual Adjustable Straight Trigger for my P229 Legion before seeing the ELS kit.
    Do you sell the ELS trigger bar separately, or will I have to purchase the entire kit.
    Also, will this be an upgrade compared to the current trigger bar in the Legion?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns  7 місяців тому

      This is a huge upgrade over the Dual adjustable trigger. It helps smooth the trigger pull out as well is decrease weights without spring changes, even more with spring changes, allowing an even lighter pull with duty rated springs and competition rated springs.
      The magic with this kit is actually in the trigger, the trigger bar just retimes the backend. A new trigger is necessary for the leverage enhancement work.

    New to the hobby. The p226 Nitron version doesn't get much love, does it? I've one in 357sig. I want a 40 barrel. I can't afford one sadly, I'd even take an ugly looking one. Or darm 357 Sig rounds. Lol. Almost. 2$ per round in my small towns lgs, IF he had any that's my price. Um.. no?

    Does the pre travel and over travel adjustments impact the reset at all? If I get this kit, will I also need the short trigger reset kit?

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns  Рік тому +1

      the pretravel does not impact reset at all. The overtravel can, but not significantly. The amount of reduced reset you see is the amount of over travel reduced. This would be negligible compared to the short reset kit from us or SIG

    How does it compare to the legion p226? In terms of tigger weight reductions.
    -
    What mainspring does the legion 226 come with?
    -
    Would an adjustable trigger and the stock srt work like this?

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns  19 днів тому +1

      The Legion comes with the short reset, however with the ELS kit it lightens the trigger pull. We do this using leverage instead of spring changes. So any additional spring changes will lighten the trigger pull even more.

    I am confused, a DAO/DAK doesn't have a decocker or spurred hammer because they can't be used in a DAO gun, I will still need the ELS for a DAK just because the frame is notched for a DAK trigger bar?

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns  Рік тому

      Yes that is correct. Sig started cutting all frames with the DAK compatible cuts. This left us with 2 frame styles out there DAK and NonDAK frames. DAK frames are also used in building the DA/SA guns as well. Because of this we have 2 different style trigger bars to fit in both frames made by SIG.

    Do the screws on the trigger have loctite on them . Or do I need to put some on?

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns  Рік тому +1

      The screws come with loctite and vibratite. However, if you want you can pull the screws and use a fresh coat of loctite when adjusting to make sure they do not move at all.

    Will this kit remove the slack/creep in SA for the P226?

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns  Рік тому

      This is for DA/SA only guns as the trigger bars are vastly different. The SAO trigger we offer can eliminate some of that but some slack and creep in the SAO trigger is required for the safety to function.

    i dont really like the idea of lightening the double action pull. at least not for carry.

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns  Рік тому +4

      We would have to agree to disagree on this one. For SAO and striker guns we like to stick above 4 lbs for carry guns as a rule of thumb. this means if a striker gun came in with a 4lb trigger we wouldn't recommend lightening for carry, however if that same gun came in with a 7lb trigger (which we have seen) we would absolutley ligthen it for carry. We can't look at lightening triggers all or nothing. If a shooter can't safely and reliably work a 12lb double action trigger pull, is it ok for them to carry? Probably not. Our ELS system brings the trigger pull down into the 8-10 pound range without spring changes. This means you keep the factory hammer spring for that incredibly reliable ignition, but also bring the weight of the trigger down to a safe but manageable weight.

    • @Trumplican
      @Trumplican Рік тому

      @@grayguns im just against lightening triggers on a firearm with no manual safety i cant see anyone having trouble being accurate with a 10-12lb first shot unless they have neuropathy or something. Then again Im sure you know more than I do what is safe and what isnt. I was a military armorer so i dont really have all that much experience with testing safe trigger weight.

    • @MJA5
      @MJA5 9 місяців тому +1

      @@Trumplicanjust how much da trigger weight would you consider safe then? 20 lbs? See what I mean? A six or seven pound da pull I would not consider a problem whatsoever. The hammer fired guns are not like striker fired guns in that sense.

    • @fuckfrank
      @fuckfrank 5 місяців тому

      The primary safety advantage of a DA trigger lies in the length of pull, not in the weight. Even if you're in a nervous state with your finger on a lightweight DA trigger, a sudden noise or movement that makes you jump and twitch your trigger finger will be unlikely to result in an accidental discharge, due to the length of trigger pull. You still have to commit to that long trigger pull on that first shot.

    • @AtrociousAK47
      @AtrociousAK47 22 дні тому

      @@proverbialmind_spread9421oddly enough, on the cheetah series the safety/decocker is on the frame and it's the FN/browning derivatives that have the slide mounted one, and it's one of the two obvious ways you can tell them apart, with the other being the lack of an exposed barrel on the FN/Browning guns. oddly enough the .380 version of these derivatives, dubbed the BDA 380, was also made by beretta on behalf of FN, with FN only making the .32 cal version under the name "FN 140DA".
