Extreme P320 Testing - Reducing Barrel Chamber Support
Next, for our extreme testing, we greatly reduced the case wall support of the P320's 9mm barrel. (Starting at about 1 minute and 45 seconds into the video.)
But first, Bruce briefly explains the previous testing where he shot the P320 significantly out-of-battery and then completed more testing without a locking shoulder on the barrel. This will help explain the "blowback design" reference in an earlier video.

P365 and P365XL Safety disassembly and reassembly
Переглядів 1,1 тис.4 роки тому
In this short video Keith explains how to quickly install and uninstall a P365 and P365XL safety. The P365 and all variants of the P365/P365XL can have a safety quickly and easily added or removed from the gun. No need for special tools. To add a safety, you will need a safety kit and grip module cut for the safety. To remove you will just need a non safety grip module.

    This doesn't "prove" anything but the one sample you have there. I'm sure that most p320s are as safe as other guns, but clearly some are not or we wouldn't have so many stories about them blowing up. it's always easy to blame the ammo, because it's easy for ammo to be OP, like Glock has done with their exploding guns.

    If you followed this video and you're wondering why you no longer have single action, it's because he forgot to install the extended (sear roll pin that comes with the kit) into the decocking lever. If you don't do this, you won't have SA anymore. Also, if you're struggling to install the cylindrical pin back into the bearing for the hammer spring, DECOCK the gun first. Pushing that bearing with a rubber puck makes it a lot easier (still the trickiest part of all this IMO).

      Thank you for your comment. I go over this step at 1:50. It is very important to replace that sear roll pin for a few reasons, reliable single action being the top.

    What’s difference between GG Short Reset and the 4.1?

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns 3 місяці тому

      These are two different systems. Our short reset shortens the distance the trigger has to travel to reset the gun, before you can pull the trigger again. The 4.1 shortens the pre travel of the LEM trigger. The starting position of the 4.1 is a few millimeters closer to the wall/ break point.

    The 320 forty doesn't fully support the case. Case bulges were evident in every round fired. The same ammo, same batch didn't bulge in an M&P or a CZ P-06 or a CZ 75 B 5" or a Ruger SR40 C.

    I can not recommend this enough. I have bought nearly every aftermarket part for classic sigs out there. For 225, 226, 227, 229, 210, 220. Single greatest improvement you can make to a Sig 226.

    Quick question, I have the DA/SA variant no safety. The install wasn't bad but all of my components hammer sear etc were coated in a silver grease almost, it was very liquidy and had a mettallic sheen it's a newer gun maybe 750 round through it. My question is was it OK to wipe that off the components? All I did was add a super light coat of hoppes oil over them before reassembly.

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns 3 місяці тому

      It sounds like you had factory grease still inside the gun. HK ships their guns with grease coating the internals. We recommend grease over oil as it has more staying power and won't wick off the components nearly as quickly.

    Installed the ELS hybrid on a P226 TacOps. The factory SRT trigger pull was 10lb and 4.25lbs. With the ELS installed, the pull is now 10.5lb and 3.75lbs. The hybrid shape is preferred over Sig's curve. The pre-travel and over travel adjustment features are nice. For a similar Sig (with SRT and ~4lb SA pull), I would recommend replacing only the trigger with a flat or hybrid shape, to suit one's personal preference, and use the pre/over travel adjustments.

    How does it compare to the legion p226? In terms of tigger weight reductions. - What mainspring does the legion 226 come with? - Would an adjustable trigger and the stock srt work like this?

    • @grayguns
      @grayguns 3 місяці тому

      The Legion comes with the short reset, however with the ELS kit it lightens the trigger pull. We do this using leverage instead of spring changes. So any additional spring changes will lighten the trigger pull even more.

    I don't own a SS P320. I did shoot, own, and carry various Glock Gen3 and Gen4 pistols for about a decade. I never experienced bulged cases, a kaboom, or a malfunction of any kind whatsoever with any of my Glocks, with the notable exception of my 10mm Auto Gen3 Glock 20SF. When using my G3 G20SF OEM stock factory barrel with its non-fully supported barrel chamber, every single new round I ever fired of full-power 10mm Auto ammo from Buffalo Bore, Double Tap, and Underwood, advertised at >= 700 FtLbs ME (all SAAMI Spec), had the notorious Glock smiley-face bulge. I'm talking about hundreds of ruined cases which I purchased as "new." So you're suggesting that these three vendors who were selling new ammo, claiming to be using "all new brass," were actually using really cheap and/or over-used brass... all those hundreds of Glock smiley-face bulges had nothing to do with the non-fully supported chamber? I didn't get the smiley-face bulged cases when I ran the same ammo through this pistol with my gunsmith fitted Bar-Sto after-market barrel. I've fired hundreds more of these very same full-power 10mm Auto cartridges out of my S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" pistol, through its OEM stock factory fully supported barrel chamber, and I've had zero bulged cases... no more Glock-like smiley-face bulges, ever. It's very obvious to me that my Gen3 Glock 20SF OEM stock factory non-fully supported barrel chamber was the direct cause of those hundreds of notorious Glock smiley-face bulged cases. Fortunately, it never blew up in my hands..

But it takes a combination of things. Bad ammo, the older barrel design, they did change the firing pin assembly. I got a bad batch of over pressure ammo. Shot 40 rounds before realizing it and other than popped primers I had zero issues.

    • @grayguns

      This is a huge upgrade over the Dual adjustable trigger. It helps smooth the trigger pull out as well is decrease weights without spring changes, even more with spring changes, allowing an even lighter pull with duty rated springs and competition rated springs. The magic with this kit is actually in the trigger, the trigger bar just retimes the backend. A new trigger is necessary for the leverage enhancement work.

    Installed 12/14/23 on P30sk no safety. The trigger portion was easy but the slide portion wasn't so easy as after the roll pin was removed, the firing pin would not slide out nor would the block drop out easily. I have the AC smooth action kit, sig armorer's improved hammer strut, AC lightened mass hammer, nickel hammer pin, spring kits, standard SRT and all manner of aftermarket improved parts.
