    I added a 17 pound red spring to my p226 dak and i stalled the shorter spring retainer as the stock SIG retainer is tHe longer one. The SuperStrut being wider in size, and when i add the red lighter spring on, comes in contact with the backside of my G10 Hogue grip. First pull of the trigger works fine, but does not reset as the spring gets bound up on G10 grip. This is documented in forums as an isue with Hogue grips for the PSeries, so im running the stock SIG strut with the lighter sear and strut spring for now.

    Sig Guy, great videos by the way. I just pulled apart my new P226 Legion SAO and don't see the issue described. Spring does not bow like video shows, it actually stays pretty straight throughout its range of motion. My spring does stick only after its been under full tension. Once it comes off, by hand I cannot make it stick to the strut. I also noticed that the shape of the section that goes inside the spring is slight different than what the video shows, actually closer to the Super Struts' shape. The notch at the top of the Super Strut is not present on my stock strut, so that could still be an issue. But as far as the binding goes on the spring, looks like Sig did some changes.

    How does the Superstrut compare to the Grayguns SIG P-Series Fat Custom Strut System?

    • @SigGuy
      @SigGuy  4 роки тому +2

      No idea. I don’t used GG products anymore nor will I ever again. The Sig Armorer was the first to designed and developed an aftermarket upgrade strut. It works as advertised flawlessly. I now use them in all my p-series pistols.

  • @footnotedrummer
    @footnotedrummer 2 роки тому +1

    I'd assume that if I wanted to... I could remove my strut and file the side that the spring contacts, and make it a much more friendly surface. If I wanted to improve my hammer slop... I'd have to get one of these, but it seems really expensive for a little piece of flat, stamped steel. Honestly... if you have access to a laser or water jet... you could use your original to revise the design and make your own super strut. Wouldn't cost you squat. Of course... not everyone knows the owner of a machine shop ;-)

    • @SigGuy
      @SigGuy  2 роки тому +2

      There are more improvements to it other than the sharp edges contacting the spring. Did you watch the complete video? As far as upgrades, gunsmithing or modifications to classic SIGs I think the cost of this upgrade is right were it belongs. Most people don’t understand what goes into research, development and production of aftermarket upgrades like these. All that isn’t free. Many people file down and polish their struts. That’s nothing new. This strut does much more than that.

    • @SigGuy
      @SigGuy  4 роки тому +1

      So don’t fix it until it’s broken? That’s not a real good answer in regards to firearms. It’s yours and you can do as you please. Not very hard to reinstall the factory strut if you ever needed to send it in to SIG. That safety will get looser and the cross bolts are know to break. SIG doesn’t admit much is ever wrong. They still haven’t admitted to the sticker problem in the original 365 nor the drop problem in the 320. Yet there is the VOLUNTARY 320
      upgrade but no recalls for both dangerous issues. A SIG CS rep is the last person I would ask. Message The Sig Armorer or Gray Guns and see what they think. I already know the answer.

    Do not use these for the p226 X-five series of pistols! This strut works excellent for p226 DA/SA or p229 DA/SA. I tried this product on my p226 X-five and experienced light primer strikes with all springs provided in the kit. Yesterday I shot my X-five with the factory hammer spring and the problem still persist. The hammer strut on the X-five is completely different than a regular p226.

      My 226 X5 SuperMatch is the only SIG I own that needs NO upgrades. As much as you pay for them you better believe they can’t be made any better! Absolutely correct though. The superStrut is amazing in all classic series SIGs. Master Shop SIGs don’t need any upgrades.

I’m not sure if they even recognize it is an issue. If you have the manual safety pull the hammer back all the way with your finger and you should be able to see the safety moving. If it’s moving that’s because the strut is contacting it. This new one is re-designed to illuminate that problem.
