- Honda Malaysia continues to turn dreams into reality with our innovations. We took better performance and efficiency to the next level by producing responsive and fuel-efficient engines over the years.
One of which is the Honda 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine that performs like a 2.4L. With no additional maintenance hassle required, it also delivers less noise and vibrations for you to have a smooth and enjoyable driving experience.
I wish that the 1.5 had the lift still but with a Louder turbo spool when it hit vtec god that would be incredible, I’m 8th gen to 10th gen now and I won’t lie, I MISS
VTEC
The turbo is at full spool way before VTEC would kick in. If you want more noise, aftermarket intake is your dude.
My dad has a 2018 1.5 L Honda Accord. It’s rated at 190 hp. His 2008 2.4 L Honda Accord was also rated at 190 hp. I think they lied about the horsepower rating in 2018 because this 1.5 L turbo Honda will smoke a 2.4 L Honda accord. I would go so far to say that the 1.5 L turbo Honda motor in the accord what keep pace with a V6 Honda accord of the last generation. When you can run a high 14/ second quarter mile time out of a four-door sedan with a 1.5 L engine, that’s just amazing.
Idk man I have a 1.5T Accord Sport and I was neck and neck with a v6 challenger and I also burned a 2.4L as well
Consider weight differences and 10 years of overall improvements to the entire car.
K20 from the 8th gen civic si is best vtec!
I like High Revving NA Honda Cars!!!!
Honda needs to fix the oil dilution problem in their cars. The damage will be done to the engine well after the powertrain warranty is expired and their customer will have to pay out of pocket for something that wasn’t their fault. Honda needs to create a real solution not what the software b.s. they are telling us about.
Dude Honda guys have been doing this for years...can't you hear them when they drive by, on the other side of town.
vtec?! *shingo points intensifies*
"Less noise and *COOL VIBRATIONS* "
I was wondering since the 1.5 liter new si turbo engine has cvt and is a earth dreams engine what if I turboed my k24 earth dreams engine with the cvt? That would be insane.
The Si comes on 6 speed Manual only. No CVT option.
@@reaperactualgaming3075 oh ok I think 2019 was cvt then. I know it was one of those
no more valve lifting...
I have the earthdreams 1.5
GDI engine, doesn't this cause carbon deposit in intake manifold like other GDI engines?
Yes valves get very dirty . Catch can us necessary
The valves open in a way that allows the injector to spray right on top and clean the valve
Wonder why you didn’t make a video about your cvt lol
They act like they invented adding a turbo charger to an engine
Because it's more than just an option now, rather, part of the foundation of their engines, which makes this significant.
Sad I like the i-VTEC Best
Having a 1.5 Liter Turbo engine produce equivalent horsepower with more torque, less emissions, and higher mpg efficiency compared to a 2.4 Liter Naturally Aspirated engine is cool. Having the *potential for less than 100% perfect long term reliability is not so cool.
Believe it or not there l15b7 out there stock motor rocking over 400 whp
Paul I believe it. 👍 But I am cautious because I value reliability above all else. I’m used to buying a brand new Honda Civic Si and easily expecting it to last over 30+ years with little more than oil changes and routine maintenance.
You guys are scaring me
I trade in after the 6 years so I’m good.... I hope 😁
That reliability all starts with who and how the first owner treated the car during its break in period and understanding that it is almost a race car engine that requires someone who knows how to tune and what to watch for that makes this car fun to drive without even adding the tuning performance pieces to it! I learned alot about my 2017 honda civic sport touring 1.5L turbo engine! And the best information I gathered was that the battery in the American sold civic was 14 pounds lighter than the Canadian model! That's alot of reserve compassady that is needed for a vehicle with all kinds of electrical equipment in it! It said that the battery was maintenance free! But I can assure you that is far from the facts! The factory battery didn't even make it to twenty five thousand miles before it created a disaster of problems under the hood! Record breaking temperatures in Portland Oregon where i live caused it to get hot enough to boil the water out of the battery! By the time I figured out that the water was down at the halfway point of where it should have been, The lead plates were exposed and not submerged under distilled water/Acid mixture that is required to make a battery work. It is the biggest reason ( I personally think! ) That i hear all the comments about fuel ending up in the oil or crankcase of the engine! If you're battery is not producing a good quality spark to the sparkplugs, Then it would make sense to me that it's not burning all the fuel efficiently and being a high compression engine with direct injection and turbo charger that it's gotta go somewhere right? The piston rings are the easiest way out of the cylinder! I know this because I no longer have that issue and dramatic power increase with the new battery! Here is another thing I found! One sparkplug was gapped 26thou and three were 28thou from the factory! The manufacturer called for 30thousandth of an inch on stock tune. I set all of the sparkplugs at 30 and did not change them as they looked like new as far as being burned down. When I went to back out of my driveway I almost ran over my neighbors garbage can it had so much more giddy up!😉
Honda Jazz
Fix oil dilution.
for real... surprised comments like this aren't littering the comment section... wish i knew about this problem before buying a honda with earth dreams
2.4 can do 350 k km ..not sure this one high pressure ..
No extra maintenance but why on 1.8 na engine only need to service once every 10,000km while 1.5tc need to service twice
0:26 that's a 6th generation Civic, not a 7th...
Do a comparison
Ada vtec ke?
Would rather prefer just plain old VTEC- not even I-vtec
the switching sound is just eargasm
Now with oil mixed with gas 😂😂😂😂💀💀💀💀 bad news
RN1000 Romania
Wow, all that AND gas in your oil pan!!!!!!!!!
I think the problem could actually be the oil rings on the pistons which
weren't designed with enough strength to handle the direct fuel
injection, particularly when the engine is cold and the fuel mixture is
enriched, aided by the turbo forcing more air pressure into the
combustion chamber. thicker and stronger oil rings might be needed.
Of course diluted oil is not good for the engine relating to its working
longevity .
These engines as they are designed may last up to their stated warranty ,
but after that ?????
Direct injection is like car cancer. The engine warms up harder, making the fuel on the wall condense and go into the oil.
All we can do is change oil more frequently and install a catch can.
But it doesn't have VTEC.......it has VTC.
I have a 2020 accord sport 1.5T and the engine cover says VTEC TURBO and technically the Accord's 1.5T engine from 2018-2020 is an entirely different engine the civics 1.5T line up 2016-2020.... The accord engines from 2018-2020 are more based on the engine that is in the Civic SI
The motor that's in the Accord 1.5T is a L15BE Turbo. Let me explain this the best way I can. The 1.5T for the L15B7 (Civic Si AND L15BE (Accord) are indeed VTEC but it isn't entirely think of it as a halfie. The reason I say this is because in the 1.5T Accord Sport the system crosses over at over 5K RPM but it's faint you can barely hear it. The only way to hear it would be to raise up your windows or drive on a smooth surface and you can hear the cross over. The mechanics of the engine is that on the engine head you have the cover obviously than you have the spark plugs that are over the cylinders for combustion, and sitting on the side of those pistons are (Camshafts) Both cars are DOHC so they have two camshafts on both sides of the engine they have this hydraulic system thats called a (VTC) on both sides as well. On the intake valve which is designed to send fuel into the combustion chamber there is no second lobe on the camshaft there is no VTEC on the intake valve BUT on the Exhaust valve which is designed to send the gas out of the engine after it has combusted the fuel/air mixture on that cam it has the two regular lobes to raise the valves and then there is a bigger one that raises the valves further to increase air flow and give the engine a noticeable "kick" or gain in power BUT REMEMBER it only has VTEC on the Exhaust cam not the intake. The regular L15B7 Civic Sport does not have VTEC at all period it just has a VTC system on both cams thats it. You have two different engines (L15B7 Honda Civic Si VTEC), (L15BE Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo VTEC) and then you've got two of the same versions that don't have VTEC so far I have not seen any in America that didn't have it they might be in other countries. I hope I explained it well. The 2.0T has VTEC on the intake and exhaust camshafts but it still has that damn VTC you get it now. The 2.0T i-VTEC Has it on both sides otherwise the 1.5T Civic Si, Accord Sport 1.5T has it only on the exhaust cam in the engine.
@@STG6_Phearable it doesn't variable lift it only has variable timing control hence why it has VTC and not true Vtec.
@@reaperactualgaming3075 It only variable lift on the "exhaust cam side" only that's why you can't hear the cross over
@@reaperactualgaming3075 The K24Z3 for the TSX is the same way it only has VTEC on the intake cam profile
Considering how amazing the message actually this, this is a hideously boring ad. What the hell, Honda Malaysia.
2016-? Honda cars no Vtec sound ?
dont worry...new 1000c turbo engine coming with the vtec...
To bad the USA doesn't even get this engine.....
Yes it does.
@@aliveinlight6604 the 1.5 v-tec turbo? What car? Lol
@@NoWayNick My 2020 accord say Vtec turbo on it the engine cover.
жига коричневая
less noise and vibration...i dont think so...direct injection engines have vibration and are noisy
10th gens have v tech?!?! What models
Google it. You might learned something.
Now it has oil dilution issues
But that has been rectified since the 2019 CRV, had mine now for over 6 months and no issues, I use it for Uber and at those miles, I haven't had any issues.
However, I regurlarly do oil changes.
The issue arises mainly for folks that don’t take the proper precautions to warm up their new cars. While in the late 90’s and early 00’s engine technology developed where warming up is not needed, newer post 2016+ engines need to warm up in order to protect oil.
An EK Civic is a sixth generation Civic and does not have "I-VTEC"
1.5L turbo is Not vtec
MY engine cover says VTEC turbo
These are Crap. Have Oil dilution issues.
I bought one year ago 2018 Honda Civic with the turbo engine, this engine takes 3.79 L of engine oil, two months ago I change the oil and came off to a plastic container 5 .80L oh engine oil, they call oil diluted, it’s a disgrace and the smell of gas mixed with the oil really pisses me off the problem is real do some research required to buy this Honda Civic
Are you saying you had 2 liters of gas/petrol in your oil?
Where your country... Very cold weather place -10℃ to -20℃
Is not vtec
Is just the name of vtec
Vtec means hight cam profile
What is on this cars from ivtec to prezent is variable valve timing and is not equal with vtec.
On honda is named vtc =variable valve timing.....

Worse engine Honda ever made.
