When you walk into the studio and the guy you've been playing along side as a team since you were 15 tells you "your not good enough to be in SLAYER" then what would you think went through Jeff's mind the night he died. Jeff has been drinking since he was 13. My feeling is Kerry didn't want to stick by his mate. He wanted to move on without Jeff for his own benefit and go with the flow of the industry. Selfish! Kerry has been the best of friends with Gary Holt for years. So he jumped on the opportunity like a wolf. He acts like he gave a shit about Jeff. He really didn't. Jeff would sit on the couch every day since his incident and look at his arm and drink thought to himself "things will get better" look at his arm, have another Heineken. Repeat... Every day... Alcohol next to guitar was his life blood. The only two things he knew. I loved Slayer. I hated Metallica and at least Dave Mustaine stopped acting like a douche bag, letting Metallica get to him. I just don't know what to think anymore. You guys have to know there was something deeper there. I really don't like the new metal scene. But there are bands out there in Europe that are keeping metal real. What I did see coming was the passing of the torch. Its gonna be Lamb of God. They are the new Slayer. They will be the new reigning supremacy

Out of the so called big 4 Slayer was the only one not to sell out and stay true to their roots and thats a big part of the reason i still respect and love Slayer. Anthrax started making rap and pop sounding songs ,Megadeth went to shit for a few years there with risk etc. thankfully that didn't last and they got good again.Metallica started making country rock Loads until hardwired where they redeemed themselves.

He doesn't enjoy travelling for one, and I can't blame him for that, and let's not forget he has to yell onstage for about an hour at a time and I'm sure that becomes harder with age. Also, I'm not sure he's into the music as much as he used to be, and imo you can't always help the way your tastes change.
