Finally, the new Grand Prix Series of figure skating is starting next week!!! Nathan will debut in Skate America first! Let's recap the best of Nathan till season 20/21!! Can't wait for the new GP to start!!!
At 3:40, someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think Nathan was signaling a make-believe hug because of covid but Yuzuru reached out so Nathan was going to do a fist bump but Yuzuru went for some kind of arm bump instead so Nathan ended up doing some strange elbow bump with Yuzuru's arm, lol. That bromance moment between them was special.
@@FigureSkatingFan good analysis! I think that was it. There is only one other possibility...that Yuzuru signaled a hug first, and we saw Nathan signaling back. Then Nathan proceeded to initiate a real fist bump, but Yuzuru was too close in proximity by then to return a proper fist bump. Being a professional skater that he is, he quickly shifts to meet Nathan's fist with his arm. Nathan had to find his target on Yuzuru's lower arm to meet his fist that was expecting Yuzuru's fist. Nathan had not enough time to convert his fist bump to a good efficient arm bump to reciprocate Yuzuru. A sitting position is usually at a disadvantage when active. And figure skaters naturally use their arms as a tool, their fists must remain retracted, or lax. Anyway, all ended well. I like bromance! 🤗🤗
The best of Nathan, the best of his mom and families . Good kid was grown by the best families with good environment. His families is so incredible. Wow!!!! his attitude is superb.
Buen título merecido para presentar diversas actuaciones que desde niño él ha ido ganando 3 veces campeón del mundo y consecutivos amén de otros títulos lo enaltecen y ya es una leyenda y seguiremos viéndolo hasta que el tiempo diga
I did noticed that you made more video on Yuzu than Nathan. Well, I understand that Yuzu gets more attention but Nathan is pretty amazing too. Thanks for making this video. I appreciate it. Btw I really dont understand gatekeeping type of fans which rejects those who called themselves Fanyu’s that also support Nathan telling them not a true fan and vice versa. Like, I support them both, they are amazing. You can have preference but dont stop others for having different opinion
The owner of this channel is a fan of Yuzuru, and they openly admit that, so it's not surprising to see mostly Yuzuru videos. Even in a rare Nathan video like this, it still contains Yuzuru, but they're kind enough not to hate on Nathan and to still dedicate something to him. I'm always curious to see what kinds of positive things a fanyu might have to say about him.
Haha yes I'm Yuzuru fan, most of us are! But there are also Nathan fans in our team. This channel is a teamwork, not owned by me. And this video is edited by a Nathan fan. In general we just like watching figure skating and we have our own favorite skaters, just like any figure skating fan
I call myself a Yuzu fan and not a fanyu so other fans understand I'm not a hater. Sadly, a tiny but very vocal minority of fanyus are anti-Nathan but I can tell you the vast majority of fanyus are fine people. Nathan is a phenomenal jumper and a true humble champion. He's working on his artistry and is challenging himself 😊
Help! Anyone knows any channel (other than this one obviously) that uploads regularly focusing on Men's figure skating? I follow a few FS channels that uploads a lot of updates and content ahead of season, but most of them are solely focusing on women's figure skating. With Olympic season coming I need an active channel reporting on Men's figure skating too. 🙏
I don't understand why quad loop has such a low BV. According to Nathan, it is a scary jump, or more scary than the other jumps. It just seems a difficult jump, to propel into the air with no toe assist, as oppose to the toe loop, or the lutz, and do four revolutions. Triple loops are difficult, but feasible, especially if it is the second jump in a combo. Quad loops are more difficult, seemingly impossible in a competitive program. Has anyone tried a quad loop as the second jump in a combination? It would seem less impossible, however timing relating the edge position of skate that just landed and the horizontal to vertical transition of skater body into second jump is crucial, but it should be I think less of a defiance to physics. The energy upon landing would help propel the skater upward instead of a toe assist. Triple loop triple loop combo is popular... especially the second triple can just replicate the first one, provided that the first triple loop was done/landed well enough. It is less of a defiance to physics. Female skaters are generally lighter, less massive, than the male physique. So in taking off on any unassisted loop jump, the lightness makes it slightly easier. Anyway, higher BV for quad loop!!
Very good question. We mentioned it in our jump history video here: ua-cam.com/video/HqTh_mAg6KY/v-deo.html -- Initially Lo is given lower value than Lz and F because for single, double, and triple level, the mechanics makes it easier. It's actually the first ever landed triple jump. But then after more skaters started jumping more types of quads like 4Lo, 4F, 4Lz, people started realizing 4Lo is actually harder. Then there was a proposal in ISU to make 4Lo, 4F, 4Lz equal value. It should have been implemented in season 2020/21. However, because of COVID and a lot of things going on, that proposal was scrapped :( Honestly I think 4Lo should be given higher value than 4Lz / 4F. And even 4F seems more difficult than 4Lz at the quad level.. We mentioned those points on why we think so in the video - ua-cam.com/video/HqTh_mAg6KY/v-deo.html
Different jumps scare different people. Someone who prefers edge jumps prob doesn't worry too much about a loop jump. Nathan, who prefer toe jumps, is perfectly comfortable doing the flip and lutz while others may feel differently.
Funny. The rule changes by the ISU after 2018 was to try to hold Nathan back in the first place because they freaked out when he started doing 6 quads while everyone else was just trying to handle 3 or 4.
@@minnie6163...okay, minnie, so everyone is underscored except Nathan Chen? I think anyone with eyes can see that Nathan truly skates consistently and pretty much flawlessly better than everyone else when it truly matters. It's silly to argue exact scorings but I don't think anyone can deny him the gold medals he has won.

His axel jump has been very stable and reliable since 2019. It's definitely the weakest out of all his jumps but saying that he's "not good at it", I think, is an exaggeration.

All the jump has toe assist bro. It’s just less on edge jumps. You probs cannot even do doubles

No their underscoring of others benefitted him..... nothing against the skater ofcourse its isu that's unethical.....

for some reason, every time I come back to this video, there's another dislike
