This was a big letdown. I was excited when reading the title of the podcast but I got very little from this one.

This guy is talking loud and saying nothing.

I would have appreciated less distraction with general philosophies of remotely related issues including biographical ones to more focus on specific exercise modalities explained in layman's terms that can be utilized post podcast. This was in my opinion, bloviation and a waste of time.

Sorry, IMHO someone should've stopped him wasting too much time on this a long time ago. Nothing new here, just an overly complex way of saying know your goals, choose your diet and training regime appropriately for your body type, goals, limitations and lifestyle. Nothing wrong with the message at all once you decipher it, but it's delivered in an overly detailed and idiosyncratic way with a lot of unnecessary terminology.

I was waiting for the practical application part of the conversation so I could implement some changes into my current exercise program… 😐

As soon as he referred to the general public as "low hanging fruit" I thought "this is not a nice guy". But once he started to tell his story, I had nothing but compassion for this guy. Given where he is from, he is doing amazingly well. Very tough background and he has done so much to make the best for himself and a contribution. Respect.

For a novice weight lifter, there was nothing said here that was a good take away message. No practical advice on how to build an effective exercise regimen. He did say that you do not want to take on too high a load if you’re a beginner but that’s common sense.

I really enjoyed this podcast. It gives me inspiration and motivation seeing what an overcomer of drug addiction can accomplish. I am three years sober am really so grateful for all the guidance and blessings as well as the strength to remain sober. Thank you.

Very interesting guy, smart too to have all of that physical and real world experience but also combine that with the academic credentials later on in life, he's not the typical cookie cutter PHD, smart guy and I enjoyed listening to him and share his story/knowledge.
