Doctor Sahib as usual absolutely valuable and research based iformation helpful almost to every person. Baking Soda(which is also known as Meetha Soda, Soda Bicarb & Khaney wala Soda) is a chemical and quite different from Baking Powder. Their use is almost same as a leavening agent. Baking Powder is extracted from the Starch of Maize Corn through a special process whereas Backing Soda is prepared chemically.

Baking Soda & Baking Powder are not alike. They are quite different. Their use is almost same as a leavening agent but Soda Bicarb( which is also known as Backing Soda and Meetha Soda) is a chemical whereas Backing Powder is extracted from the Starch of Maize Corn after lengthy process & its texture is very soft just like a Talcum powder. Its cost is well above over the Backing Soda!!
