- Expats in the Philippines/Found! The Village Idiots! @paulinthephilippinesolddog9234Good news! We found your village idiots I have another discussion at my favorite place to hang out and chat with friends I know here in the Philippines. Doug. Danny. Myself, and a mystery guest ff camera discuss everyday life here in the Philippines. #budget #retirement #philippines
Great video or was that a comedy show? I have not laughed so much in a long time. Thank you. 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
whatever it is its a good show
for those who said always traffic why they daily go outside the house if not dont act like your country was no traffic i will put some proof that even outside philippines theres traffic not to mentioned theres also tornado which we dont like outside philippines and tsunami people always compiaigning about calamity everywhere has there own calamity not only in the philippines dont go here if you over acting create your own world that has no calamity at all
I agree very very comical guys. I definitely would get along with this group lol
All Americans who are 65 years old in America 🇺🇸, they have one thing to look forward or not realizing that our destination is the nursing home. Those who passed before entering the nursing home are the lucky one.
Seeing Paul busting with laugh is real and you can’t fake that. Laughter make life feel better and gives you long life 👍🙏❤️
My Grandpa lived to 100 and played golf until 95. He ate very clean, exercise daily, never drank. Going to Philippines won't fix your problems. The life expectancy there is barely over 70.
Yep. We’re heading over and retire in a few months. Agree 100% about the nursing home destination. It’s a slow painful death. I could elaborate however I’m ready for a major change and live. MABUHAY!
You don’t have to worry about nursing home i you go to Philippines , going out with a bang
I agree with your guess, you have to pull the trigger and make a decision. I retired at age 64. I live in New York City and own a condo in the Philippines. I visited the Philippines 4 times for three at a time for vacations from 2008-2019. I finally decided to retire in the Philippines and arrived in November 2022. It didn’t work out for me. But I’m glad I got out of my comfort zone and tried it. I got sick twice in the Philippines and I could not find food that was healthy for me. So I moved back to NYC. With no regrets. Guys you have to check out a few places in the Philippines for a few months in whatever town you choose. Don’t sell all your belongings until you are in the Philippines for 6 months to a year. Then decide when you have a good idea if you can cope with the life and culture of the Philippines. All the best to you all.
What kind of food did you need?
Absolutely do a 6 month plus trial run living as a retiree not as a tourist after you have had several vacations here first. It may be costly doing this, but your happiness health and retirement savings comes first.
Good video. Mad props to Doug making the leap to come to the Philippines and I love the hearing and smelling the ocean comment. Great attitude and outlook on his life ! Danny has a great attitude too. Though both guys need to lay off the lechon a little bit 😉.
I unsubscribe to the other 2 vloggers. I love this one, just all funny and positive videos. I keep laughing even I don’t know what they’re laughing about 😅
Another great video. Thanks Paul
When you 3 take this on the road~ I'll buy a ticket~ Actually some good introspective info!
This vid is a fun to watch. I'm a Filipino whining about a lot of things going on here but you guys got me to rethink my life outlook and perspective about contentment. I think need to seriously appreciate life's countless blessings.
trust me, living in the US, is not all it is cracked up to be ok, life here is like living one day to the next and then being in a nursing home, no family to look after you either ok :0
Excellent entertainment, improv comedy at it’s best. Always some of my favorite videos, Paul and a group of guys just cutting up. Thank you Paul for sharing the laughs.
The positivity of Doug is truly inspiring. Meeting Old Dog Paul is actually on my bucket list 😂 Humor, mannerisms, hours of entertainment painfully waiting for my retirement 😂. I semi-retired in the Dominican Republic for a few years but the Phillipines as a home base to SE Asia seems like a great life!
Thank you Paul for "controlling " your interviews. Your timing is *PERFECT when it comes time to stop one person from rambling, to give the next person a chance to talk. *BRILLIANT 🫡
What a brilliant human the man in middle is. Should be a motivational speaker. Respect.
great show very normal like living and natural thinking sharing idea's just keep going it is good and relaxing.
Love your videos. It's great to laugh with you folks. Very entertaining 👏.Thank You , gentlemen .
Good vid very entertaing do more just like it
I woke up this morning in the worst mood I've been in for months. But 6 minutes in and that feeling is already melting away. Many thanks Gents!! 😊
You got this!
Village idiot conversations are proving to be my fave laughter therapy!😂
Amazing video content, very informative, funny and truthful. That's why I love Philippines. SALAMAT PO
Good exchange..enjoyed it
The rain in the background is cool. Good discussion.
Very fun and entertaining video, 3 guys, just hanging and clowning around. That's just cool!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am definitely one of the 3 people still watching at the end. So funny just sitting around shooting the crap and laughing. Thank you for inviting me for your wacky coffee hour.
I'm not aware of the guest's level of blindness (legally blind can be different from totally blind) but I'd be very concerned about moving about on my own in the Philippines. I've seen way too many broken or altogether missing sewage trench covers. That along with huge differences in curb heights and poor drivers seem to be a recipe for disaster. I wish these guys well in any case.
It’s fun to see boys laughing 😅🤣😂 not gossiping 😮
I can smell the smells and I can hear the water. AWESOME!!!
Thanks my friend
@@paulinthephilippinesolddog9234 You are the best Paul and don't ever doubt it for one minute. You bring the best out of everyone you meet and introduce us to. Thank you for that
It is humanly interesting to listen to gentlemen stories. How they never give up in searching for "happy Times", that is what Life is all about. Never give up, continue to explore until it is time to "Cash In" our "Ticket to Paradise".
Close the lights, thats definitely a new one for me 😂
Thanks Paul for this video. Nice to see people together having a conversation.
I'm at that age that I can't stand the winter cold. And I dang sure can't afford to live in CA or FL.
Selling out in the US and moving to the islands is my final destination. I always appreciate you guy's insights and straight up fun info. Thanks!
trust me i was born in Florida and live most of my life in Florida, it is so bad here and prices are so high now, nope not even Florida is great anymore ok :0
That's what I did years ago but couldn't make it without my Filipina wife, my Muse and blessing. I sure don't miss winter. Just back from a bus tour with 50 Filipinos to Vigan and Bagio. A new house blessing and party yesterday. Just fitting in with the locals, don't need or want part of an expat community. Permanent resident living the culture. You tube, Skype and Messenger with emails keeps me in contact with USA
I've been here for 8 years, best move I could have made. 🙂🙂
Outstanding! You guys are funny!
BLIND!!!! Hats off, incredible determination
Amen
Live the info and the comedy. Good job guys
Funny video ! I never heard Paul say significant other 20 times in a video lol 😆
what a comedy movie, nice take care folks
Each time I watch Paul's videos, I wish I am there and hang around with Paul and all these charmingly funny guys. Bless your hearts.
Good morning guys nice to you here being good health and happy
You’re a breath of fresh air Paul. Great video!!
I appreciate that!
Hi 👋 Old Dog 🐶. Expat stories are always nice to listen too. Nice GIYS! Wish them the best life ahead 🙏Your a cool guy with a great personality my friend 👍. If I make out next year I will look you up to meet👍🙏. Blessings 🙏🌸🌼🌺
Thanks so much
And a fun time was had by all. I enjoyed the batter.
Is it just me or are you're videos getting, getting more interesting and down to earth? Anyway good one 👍
Thanks for the good laughs guys, my wife and I are really enjoying your channel.
Great Video- relaxed, Witty and Truth
Congratulations on another great video. I have watched many of your videos. Thank you for making them. This one was a turning point for me. I have been considering moving to the Philippines for a couple of years, partially because of you. Today's video convinced me that I don't need to do that. Listening to you three guys over a cup of coffee let me see that I don't need to move there to enjoy the Philippines and the camaraderie. I lived there for three years, so I remember the dogs, roosters, jeepneys, potholes, typhoons, begging children, and beautiful women and scenery. I now live in the San Diego area, the weather is about 72 degrees year round, traffic is not a bother, everyone speaks English, I have an efficiency apartment that costs me only $800 per month, I am within walking distance of everything I usually buy such as food, gas, clothing, etc. I can drive to Las Vegas in 5 hours, or the Grand Canyon in 6. There's even a good Filipino restaurant in Encinitas. I had lumpia there yesterday. Bottom line: I love the Philippines, and I love your videos and the Philippine people. Please keep up the good work. It's almost like being there. I am reminded of all the beauty and good the Philippines has to offer, without enduring the annoyances.
Wow!, thanks Steve! I am feeling like I need to check out San Diego. I have spent time in the Phils as well and relive the experience through videos like this, but I'm not sure about whether I want to return there or find an alternative.
How did you find $800 a month apartment in San Diego?
Happy to see and watching your vedio
Great show! Thanks
Hi Paul! I enjoy your videos…keep up the good work! Will be visiting the PI later this year…hope to meet you then.
I really sat thru the whole damn thing, I can't believe it!!🤣
I watched until the end!! - Great show, even though I'm six months late to watching it.
My wife explained to me that many words don't translate easy from Ilongo to English. And Filipinos will 'think' in their native tongue then try to figure out what English words can best express what they're trying to say (& thinking) & sometimes it's not real easy for them. My hat is off to all of them as I'm not bilingual but an American.
Thanks for sharing this very useful yet hilarious conversation! You should make more of them.
No matter where you go / your still facing yourself ! Like yourself & life will be Happy wherever you are ! Find Peace from within 😊 You don't like yourself your more critical of others & your surroundings! When you like yourself happinesses is attainable! 😊great video 👋
Hey Paul can you get Dan back on for a interview I’d like to know more about him past present and future plans please ‘ bring it on Bro
Many fish in the sea …. Great priorities, Health and your children. Go Dad
Always a good laugh guys!!!
Great conversation guys!
You guys are turning into Filipinos 😂 Having so much fun, joy of life, and at very low monetary cost. I find it extremely uplifting that a legally blind person can safely have a very good life there. The Philippines is so much safer than the foreign press is uttering... Man, I've been laughing with you. Thanks for lighting up my day! 😊
Same as Mexico is very dangerous...BS...propaganda.
Great video Paul and I wish much success to all you guys! Have a blessed day!
Brilliant. Three guys just shooting the breeze and telling it like it is-----Three realistic guys. Thanks
Hey Paul, sometimes when you have a conversation like that. Light up a cigarette like Johnny Carson used to do.
I thought it was a great video pit a lot of different perspectives but also showing a lot of great respect. Hopefully again you three guys can do another video it was truly a joy to listen to all three of you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Paul, I think this is your longest video yet, and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Another amazing interview Paul, love the variety of friends you have and the different backgrounds and experiences. Keep them coming, I love to watch them.
You guys are awesome👍🥰😊
Hey Paul.... Thanks for more incredibly informative content.
I'm an "Urbanite" , here in Houston Texas USA. You have incredible interviewing skills- because you listen, and ask the right questions. Budgeting..economics...environment and dating can *NEVER be exhausted. Thank you for being consistent. Much Respect 🫡
Working on my passport and saving money, got a nice stash saved. I’m definitely coming out there
Fear keeps us from moving forward in our lives.
Nice interview
Great Video Paul. Would love to see more of these, just shooting the bull sesions.
This was a great conversation. I was watching it during my lunch break and it felt as if I was there with you guys. You were fun and hilarious. I got my plane tickets and hotel reservations ready. Hope to meet you guys one day soon.
Shy also means embarrassed. Especially when they are asking for something.
Awesome video boys. I look forward to having chin wag with you guys someday!
Excellent banter guys. You made my day and put a smile on my face while being educated further - I think :-)
HAHA. Last time you tried this World Zoom was involved. Which one of these guys will be the conman.
Only Joking. Great vid.
Great bantor and fun out at camp. I enjoyed having a laugh with you men. Thanks.
Paul...you have a bunch of great videos, but this one stands out. I think it's the conversational camaraderie as the conversation progressed. It sounded like an excellent day to have excellent conversation! I wish you and your guests the greatest life in the PI!!
Interesting. I think having realistic expectations sets one up for success. I think unrealistic expectations set people up to fail. For me the first time I went directly to deep province. It was an awesome choice for me. I didn’t want Cebu, Manila or the city. I can find that in America. I spent three months in deep province and it was the best! I was extremely happy and blissful. I did feel like a celebrity. I was greeted daily by Filipinas and others that were curious and very friendly. They were sweet, playful, and open. Since I have been to all the favorites men talk about including Duma, Cebu, Manila. I still prefer the deep province by far. I am slow traveling for a while through SE Asia. I know I will end up in true province life. Its transformative down to the cellular level
Great chat
Inspiring video!💚
OLD DOG does it again. 100% agree on Angeles - it is not for everyone,. If you aren't a pimp, or a trick, stay away. Great Content, I always stay to the end. The world is a crazy place. The Phils is no different. But if you want fried chicken and gravy - it is easy to find here. May the gravy flow like water!
It's already late and I have to work tomorrow, gonna finish this one in the morning, that contagious laugh by Paul is a stress reliever 😂
Fab video as always Paul thank you guys for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
This is by far my favorite show you've done. It was funny. I'm sure it was funnier when you weren't taping, but maybe next time.
Really enjoyed this sir
You're all very wise
This was a great video
Great video made for good laughs; you guys work well together.
Thanks!
Laughter! I dont hear that enough over here in the west. Thanks for that.
Paul, it was worth my time to tune in just to hear the real uncontrolled laughter you guys shared. The world needs more of this. Is there anything more important? Hope to meet you sometime, from a Canadian moving to San Carlos this fall
Good conversation Paul. I enjoyed it and watched to the end.
Watching from San Diego California I’m happy for you sir 👍
Paul, you and the other two make for a great interview! It was good seeing everyone laugh so openly, recognizing the mistakes that each one made, and then being humble enough to admit failures with the ability to move on! I considered the Philippines for almost three years, but life changes altered that for me as I'm now in an LTR with a wonderful Chinese woman online that has persisted for 1.5 years! I always enjoy your videos, and learn such practical relationship advice that can work anywhere in the world!
Great stuff!
Hi Paul, just started watching your videos. Excellent content. You've help me decide on moving to Dumaguete. 2 more weeks to go!
This was a fun conversation! It's the kind of spontaneous talk that I enjoyed covering many subjects and is genuinely wholesome and real. I laughed a lot too!
Living in a community where there are many foreigners seems to be the element that brings success to the men who decide to move to the beautiful Philippines. I think if this did not exist it would not take long for many men to get up and move on or move back to where they came from. We all need that similarity and closeness to those that are like us. The woman they connect with will find contentment in having a man provide for her wants and needs and in turn she can provide what he wants or what he thought he wanted. After the honeymoom stage, what they have in common, the language barrier, their negative habits, etc., might be challenged. Living in a community where foreign men can congregate with other men to meet and talk and be able to express themselves as they did in their own country is a positive. Men and women need their space and taking advantage of that works. Those that may have a filipina that does not give him his space, is jealous, has too many demands, is with a woman who has a child/children and he realizes that this might not be what he expected especially in his retirement............this can definitey change the dynamics of that relationship.
Doug is a gem! Making the most of a huge disability! Hope he goes far.
In 1971 I lived in the Philippines for a year. I was 21 y/o and in the Air Force. The Philippines was paradise for me at that age. Every time Paul does an outside roundtable, I feel like I get a dose of 1971. Thank you Paul.
I was also in the USAF stationed at Clark AB. I worked Town Patrol. Great memories. I plan to visit when I retire.
@@travisadams4470 I was at an Air Station about 150 miles north of Clark.
And I was born a couple decades later lol
@@jacked6 And shortly, I'll catch a ride out of here and you'll live another 50 years. I've had a hell of a great life, hope you do too.
@@bentnickel7487 you never know. My grandpa lived to 102 and was pretty healthy. Sadly many guys I see come here don't give a rip about their health, drink every night, and lose interest in everything. Sad to see from my point of view.
Loved the video. A lot of fun
Great video! Thank you
Awesome video dog. Great use of an hour. Thanks.
My mom should have done that, she's been 'legally' blind basically her whole life and disability in Canada if living in the city doesn't cover squat. I'm assuming similar to him, there's a form of sight but it's just blurry, she always used a seeing eye glass when I was young for reading then switched to audio books and has never been allowed to drive although she could somehow get by on a bike. Gotta be a challenging way to live, cheers.
