A really interesting vlog Paul. "If it sounds too good to be true. It usually is!" Certain types of crimes are thought to be victimless BULL S#!T no such thing. If you don't insure your vehicle (certainly in the UK) it costs everyone who does insure money to finance an "Uninsured Driver Fund" that pays victims of accidents where a perpetrator is uninsured. Fraud cases are a classic. I was involved in the investigation of a case where a couple of companies were set up they had people in management positions in hospitals and were supplying counterfeit drugs to hospitals. In court one accused argued "It's the health service they have billions to spend." The health service in the UK is funded by contributions from everyone working and paying tax. These people weren'r supplying counterfeit low cost drugs. They supplied drugs for oncology, cardiology and other serious illnesses. Packaging looked genuine as did the drugs. Subsequent chemical analysis showed they were fake. So what about the patients with serious illnesses prescribed what everyone believed to be genuine drugs? They had months or years of their lives stolen by people motivated by greed. Scamming is BIG business you don't have to point a gun or knife at someone it can be done remotely but is no less devastating. Couple of years ago I guy I went to school with lost his job he'd done at a company for 30 years. The Finance Director who had been there more than 10 years developed a taste for gambling and ladies who charge by the hour for their companionship. Over several years he'd embezled money from the firm. Eventually while he was on holiday a routine query exposed anomalies the firm was forced into bankrupcy and 22 people lost their jobs!
Great interview Paul and Ian. We definitely have to aware,I think even more so in these tougher times the cockroaches or scammers are in abundance. Loved your comment about the common denominator… Greed. I’ve always added a third To the absolutes of life… Taxes… Death… And GREED.
It's always Greed these people are out for themselves and nobody else, but when they get too Greedy they will always make a mistake and they only have to make one mistake.

Listening to your guest today was a great departure from strictly Philippines life. The format that you practically fathered on UA-cam has been copied so many times over by various people and expats. I see new ones each week. I think taking your channel in the direction of a more overall experience will be a good move for you. You may get copied, but being the first 🐕 in the lead is great. Your channel has become a place that many would want to be able to be a guest on.
Not too much forethought and setup needed to talk from your home and friends .who drop by how are others copying him? it’s a simple format that’s an easy way to start. no movement around town or around The Philippines just sitting in front of a camera why would anyone copy him?
@@winchill2002 yikes! Did I hit a nerve? I was talking in general about the format and that so many mention they had been listening to him before even coming out. Many of the ones I've been watching came up after him and a good percentage mentioned him.
When you get a call from someone claiming to be a friend or relative, ask them a question that only they know the answer, or ask them a false question like: What does Aunt Mary think about this? Knowing that there is no Aunt Mary and see how they answer. A dead giveaway that it’s a scammer.
My cousin in the Philippines (north of me Quezon City) was a Seal. Legit. Weird how two cousins who barely knew each other ended up in the PHilippines. He grew up in Alaska and is much older and I grew in Boston. We are no neighbors by accident but Seals do exist.
Good job Paul , heard about Death Island in Thailand with that rich Thai family causing the trouble. So the lure of the Best scuba diving gets people to go. Its not worth your life though.
If i had a $1 for every American man who has claimed to be a former Navy Seal or Marine with "over a hundred" kills, I could take a pretty, pretty nice vacation. Legends in Their Own Mind.
In my case, the better someone appears such as a luxurious office, impeccable clothing, expensive watch and diamond ring, noteworthy pictures of famous people, the less I will trust him ......All props.
This is one of of the most interesting videos for expats I have seen and I’ve been watching vagabond, Pea, and many others! I am moving to the Philippines soon to escape the false accusations and prosecution I’ve been experiencing most my life just for have blonde hair and blue eyes! Can’t say how many times strangers have displayed anger and jealousy towards me for having beautiful girl friends to the point I’ve become “gang stalked” in every aspect of my life! They’ve even attempted to get me imprisoned for crimes I would never do!!! Thank God for my military career that saved me from their pursuits “so far”!!!😖
My suggestion in the case of the fake voice would be to ask the person a question only the real person would be able to answer. I've used a similar method when a scammer called and pretended to be from my bank.
Holy Cow Paul , These videos are getting longer and longer . I fell asleep and woke up , took a shower and it was still going … 😂🤣😂 The video that never ends . Paul’s face hilarious. 😂

Certain types of crimes are thought to be victimless BULL S#!T no such thing.
In court one accused argued "It's the health service they have billions to spend."
The health service in the UK is funded by contributions from everyone working and paying tax.
You GUYS want to meet NIGERIANS PRINCES..
i listen to this and "world zoom" comes to mind
Thank you both for a fabulous video it’s appreciated to hear good wisdom especially when we live in such a Dark world
Lived in Thailand 🇹🇭for
2 Years . Always Scammed and its driving me crazy and Left Thailand and Moved here in the Philippines 🇵🇭 ( Cebu ) . Living here for 11 years and Loving it ❤🎉❤
Thanks for the video Paul
I love Thailand, but "Death Island" is one place I'll avoid at all costs! Thanks for exposing this terrible place!
And the scuba diving is not that good there either -- there are plenty of other much better places in Asia to go scuba diving.
Avoid Thailand it's far too dangerous. Even Phuket.
Are people dying to go there?
@@tryscience lol!
Wow, I'm also an Aussie that went to Koh Tao in 96 and have already seen that podcast! Serendipity on steroids.
Very interesting. Ai will make it more interesting.
Thanks Paul for the info and vlog,
Greetings from the Netherlands. Fox1
Thanks 😊
Not too much forethought and setup needed to talk from your home and friends .who drop by how are others copying him? it’s a simple format that’s an easy way to start. no movement around town or around The Philippines just sitting in front of a camera why would anyone copy him?
If a Filipina would marry this old ugly guy they’d marry a fkin horse😅
@@winchill2002 yikes! Did I hit a nerve? I was talking in general about the format and that so many mention they had been listening to him before even coming out. Many of the ones I've been watching came up after him and a good percentage mentioned him.
There are scammers everywhere, mainly attorneys,
And with more people moving in more gossip will take place. Stay safe!
Very nice interview guys. Looking forward to more on this subject.
Thanks Gary! ✅
Hey Bud, hope all is well, stay dry my friend, hope everyone is safe an sound there with the super typhoon hitting you guys...
When you get a call from someone claiming to be a friend or relative, ask them a question that only they know the answer, or ask them a false question like: What does Aunt Mary think about this? Knowing that there is no Aunt Mary and see how they answer. A dead giveaway that it’s a scammer.
Great interview mate keep up the good work.
Great video, Paul. Very interesting and informative.
Perhaps - (?) - it's the company that '''you''' have been keeping ?
Same here.
@@frankkluz9787 no doubt!
In my case, the better someone appears such as a luxurious office, impeccable clothing, expensive watch and diamond ring, noteworthy pictures of famous people, the less I will trust him ......All props.
I believed the guy he seemed confident. you should try to interview him again. Just for entertainment.
That reminds me of Trump's CNN Town Hall recently. Bad idea
@@davetod9169 Paul could handle it with his charisma just for kicks.
Answer is to take down all the information they say and then "call back" your friend and ask.
Thanks for your heartfelt comment 😊
My suggestion in the case of the fake voice would be to ask the person a question only the real person would be able to answer. I've used a similar method when a scammer called and pretended to be from my bank.
It does not matter where you go in the “World” there will always be someone that will “Zoom” in on you with a con. 😮😂
low blow
@@JMgmkh Speaking of low blows...how's your job going? ba da BING! :)
Great topic ! Love watching your UA-cam
Holy Cow Paul , These videos are getting longer and longer . I fell asleep and woke up , took a shower and it was still going … 😂🤣😂 The video that never ends . Paul’s face hilarious. 😂
Holy cow, short attention span?
@@paulz6491 No , I was just breaking Paul’s Onions . 😂 Like I always do . Paul’s got a great sense of humor .
You're right, 15-20 is the sweet spot.
Maybe you should listen.
It was long but I actually found this video quite interesting.
This AI shit is scary! Sooner or later the computers won't need us meatsacks anymore and it will be like the "Terminator!"
Do you have a video about some of the street scams in the Phillipines? This video seems to focus more on large financial scams and murders in Thailand.
Blessings Ian , Blessings Paul 😊🤗💖🏛🏝
Hey Old Dog, really good show.
Paul, this was a very interesting video that hopefully, opened up the eyes for many tourists, WHEREVER they may be heading to. Even here in the great USA, there are tons and tons of SCAMMERS calling people on the phone, sending fake mail to homes, including sending fraudelent emails!! I mean lots and lots of this stuff continues to hapoen each and EVERY day!
Dont trust ANYONE, be mindful of your surroundings, and always be vigilant of people approaching you for ANY favor!
The great usa that is currently meddling in Thai politics. No surprise there.
For everyone out there
Never send money over the internet and always use some type of question or private things only you and the person know.
thanks for the great video paul
Throughly enjoyed, new info is always good. Foreu warned is fore armed
Watch out other Paul, Old Dog lawyered up.⚖👨⚖
