I only started Bass Fishing (serious hobby commitment) 3 years ago. I was told to buy and use LEWS Rods and Reels. I invested over $500 to start out and have to admit I am glad I followed the advise. 98% of my gear is LEWS Rods and Reels! I have had 2 catastrophic failures (one of them a TP1 Speed Stick)and LEWS replaced them all!!!! Great Customer Service and unquestionably one of the BEST out there for the Amateur and Pro!!!

its the only brand I use......I'm not going out there to buy brands to make you happy. I love my lews gear and its one of the top brands in the market. I'm sponsored for that exact reason. To produce videos to educate viewers about the many different options.....why is there an issue with that? I make loads of vids on a variety of topics and non sponsored products. Evaluate why this matters to you enough that you post a negative comment.
I'm Lews FOR LIFE. I had cleaned and took apart my Lew's reel and I didn't tighten up the handle cap and screw tight enough and they fell off while on the water and I lost them. Completely my fault. I contacted Lew's and got someone on the phone the first call and in two days they sent me the parts FOR FREE without a warranty. Now that my friend is customer service and it's why I'm a Lew's guy myself. I've had the same setup for 4 years now and it works like the 1st day I got it. Great video and now I know what my next set up is!! Lol
I've been a Lew's fan since the early 70's with a speed stick #6 now I use the casting rods and spinning rods , I like the crappie rods too. You can't go wrong with Lew's, good rods and great prices.

I actually bought 7'3 TP1 Heavy from a guy. It was missing 2 guides and the tip. I put a new tip on it and I've caught more jig fish on that thing. I love how stiff it is. Once you set that hook it allows me to crank those fish straight to the boat and flip them in. It has so much wear and tear but it's by far my favorite rod. I really wanna get the whole TP1 lineup. I'm really digging the black series. Awesome video, enjoyed it man!. This reminded me I need to service my reels! Lol thanks! That'd be a great video for you to do sometime, reel AND rod matinence that you do. I know I fish alot and I'm not really sure exactly what to do for the rods, I know to clean, oil, and great my reels but just an idea.
Awesome to hear you talk about using that Hank Parker rod. I have the Berkley lightning rod shock in spinning and a heavy fast casting and I love those. Can't beat an inexpensive work horse with sensitivity to boot! Especially when you're on a budget.
That is one of my all time favorite rods!!
I like pairing lews reels with favorite rods. My best setup is a favorite 7’3 balance with a lews speed spool.

I stick by my reviews. Sure everyone will have bad experiences with mass produced products. Lews customer service is second to none! They take care of their customers and build high quality but extremely affordable products.

That's great to hear that you haven't had any breaks... I've broken 3 rods each of the last 2 years. It happens but the less it happens the better!
during my kayak days i prolly broke 2-3 minimum and countless guides.

Dude if you take apart the Walmart Lew’s reel it still has brass gears. They’re seriously the old 350 or in line 6 from Ford. As long as you oil and grease them they will last a weekend angler forever.
I got that same bait casting combo. I had a lews spinning reel failed on me before but that was a cheap $40 reel.
Thats awesome! Lews definitely recognized the need to better their lineup on the spinning reel side. I was always a fan of a $60-70 Plflueger president. But I've had zero issues with the TLP2000, I've heard the newest model team lews custom pro is a step above the previous years. Can't wait to try it

Done went through two of the orange crush reels worst reel lews ever made glad I got them on sale for 69$ I would never pay 149$ original price for a graphite frame reel both reels where rough when reeling

Beyond The Bounds I’ve decided to go with the General Purpose Rods, if I may ask, they make a medium heavy and a medium, I like to skip a lot of my baits, does the medium heavy tip load enough to do so or would the medium be a better option, I want to dedicate a set up or two just for skipping.
Any thoughts on the Lew's KVD rod and reel? Was thinking of buying those or the Lew's KVD 7' MH Fast with. Lew's Tournament Pro LFS or Speed Spool LFS as a couple places offering them for about $140
I have been a fan of lews since I got my first baitcaster now I own 6 of them the Lew's Mach 1 and 2, Mach Crush, 2 tournament series and Lew's Custom black and the only thing I have had gone wrong was my rod and Lew's replaced it for nothing even out of warranty best company by far in the fishing industry

I have 2 of the 7ft TP-1's with Speed reels and a 7'3 Team Lews custom black combo... I really like them, EXCEPT for the micro guides!! I run 30# braid to a floro leader and it hits through the guides non-stop... It's really annoying... What type of line are you using with the micro guides?

How well do they perform as far as saltwater batting bull Reds and such ? Are the reels design for Saltwater?
Don't mean to but in but I can answer your question:excellent company 10 stars,I have both the lfs and tournament mb,I put ceramic bearings in both,both cleaned monthly drag failed on lfs lews made it right,both reels are rough geary after a year.This is just flounder speckled trout no bull reds.good luck

Nice brother. I want to fish w bait cast but I don’t know how to use them. I am so use to spin reels.
Until the eyes start falling out lol love Lews reels. Their rods however... meh. Had many of Lews rods and always had problems with eyes. Luckily they are transfering to Microwave guides. Even that TP-1 spinning rod (TP1 Series, includes the float n fly in the options) specifically, the first eye from the reel is pretty rough on my braid.
I understand...gotta match the line and guides....certain rods i dont use braid
How do these perform compared to the Mach crush. Would you say the tp1 is better and how about the reel. I have a mach crush and love it but was wondering I'd be better off on my next one to pair one up with the tp1 if it's any better. After the crush I'm really thinking of switching over to more lews. I find myself reaching for it more and more often.
Tp1 has many more actions. The reel is a lower profile than the crush. This combo is about $80 more

I purchased 4, put them together last night and made a couple of casts in the yard with various baits... OMG !!
For a 100 dollar rod it’s really impressive, I purchased the right hand versions of the reel, there’s not an excessive amount of room for larger line size but just the few casts that I did make I can see I’m going to like using these investments for a long time to come, thanks for the input buddy, I’m looking forward to getting out there with these.

I just got back into fishing after 25 years. Started taking him...I thought I got bit...he got bit hard by the fishing bug. I've never fished a baitcaster...so I can't teach him. He wants a good one...I got him 2 spinning rods, now he wants a baitcaster...I'm looking for the best all around so he can throw spinnerbaits, crank baits, chatter baits, diving, etc. Your review and enthusiasm I trust...that's why I'm focusing on this multipurpose pole. Ugh. Great channel, I subbed.
@@MikeC-my4lf thats great to hear! The TP black also has a multi purpose as well as some of the higher end lews rods. Both the mach crush and mach2 or mach 1 combos in md hvy are great combos and worth the money.

I have suggestion for a future video. Why don't u give a crash course on how to cast a bait caster. I'm sure there R alot of novices that problems with a bait caster, such as backlash, how to adjust the centrifugal brake etc. Just food for thought.

I've got two of the Hank Parker Lew's rods that were between $30-$40 bucks because I need a new baitcaster and a new spinning rod...and I can't speak highly enough of them. Like you said in the video, not quite as nice as the TP1s but a really solid purchase for an angler on a budget.
That being said, those TP1s look sweet! Not that I want to break a rod this coming season...but if I do I know what I'll be buying next!
